14 months into it's life the lack of big budget third party titles for Switch remains a disappointment and a concern. I hope E3 will remedy this...
Picked up Axiom Verge last time it was on sale, otherwise I'd jump on it this week. Feel well catered for with 2D platformers on the Switch, so DKCTF is on the backburner until I clear some backlog. I'd really like to see some NL reviews of the Naruto trilogy, as it's hard to work out the gameplay from the videos (and I'm too lazy to read the old PS3 reviews).
Shame that the EU release of Sly Spy was delayed to next week
@Blister what are Switch owners missing that the other console's have received?
Genuine question.
No Sly Spy ? Gutted
That looks like a lot of Special Offers on Switch for games that aren’t out yet...
@Gerald looks like it’s in the list of Special Offers, but not down as a Pre-Order so I’m just baffled.
@Dom any ideas? Are some of those Special Offers actually out today?
@gaga64 It's also delayed until next week in Europe, so why it's on there at all is beyond me
@Menchi187 @gaga64 All the info has come direct from Nintendo, so there's a chance that some special offers have yet to go live.
How many bloody times can the same bloody shovelware go on sale for the 3ds.
Picked up L.F.O. Lost Future Omega, it seems to be inspired by Rez and Star Fox.
@gaga64 The special offers are for preorders.
Just Tropical Freeze physical.
@Dom I don't think gaga is blaming you (I know I'm not) since Nintendo just send out this list to everyone on the press list, but I just find it a little strange that Nintendo themselves left it on the list after Flying Tiger said it was coming next week for EU.
@AcridSkull There are plenty titles not making it to Switch from major publishers. Far Cry 5, Burnout Paradise Remastered, A Way Out, Yakuza 6, Assassins Creed, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, Monster Hunter World, Surviving Mars.....
I'd like to see these publishers invest in bringing them to Nintendo hardware. Bethesda have proven it is possible to bring recent releases to the platform.
After skipping it last week I jumped the gun on South Park.
I still hope Death Road to Canada comes out before E3.
Slayaway Camp for me!
I have some gold coins expiring at the end of the month so I might get Yoku's Island. DKC:TF, but physical.
@Blister All very true. Also true is that all those AAA games would have begun their development cycles years before the Switch was around, though. Of course, I'm not saying Ubisoft would definitely this year have brought out a Nintendo version of Far Cry 5 if Switch development kits were around in 2014, but it is certainly a factor.
Personally, I think it would be boring if all the games were on all the consoles - how would we differentiate them? But sure, more third-party games are always good. The likes of Capcom, Bamco, Atlus, Falcom, Square Enix, Koei and Bethesda could use some company, especially from the West.
DKC : TF for me. Already preloaded it
@Krull Good point about the development cycles. I also agree that some differentiation between consoles is welcome. I guess I should have learned from the Wii and WiiU eras that being chiefly a Nintendo gamer will exclude me from a lot of the AAA content other gamers enjoy.
@norwichred nice, enjoy
@Krull Not sure I agree. When Wii U launched, Ubisoft had both Assassins Creed 3 & ZombiU as launch titles so they could've made something available for Switch by now.
Got stakes winner as my Neo Geo cd version is Japanese only. Booted up stakes winner and it’s japanese only. 😂 great game still.
@Menchi187 Yeah it's definitely frustrating for us. I think it's a case of these updates often being drawn up ahead of time, so by the time they get to us, some things might be out of date. Hopefully this is something Nintendo will rectify in future.
@MaseSco That's fair comment. And to give Ubisoft some credit, they did come up with Mario + Rabbids. I don't think Far Cry 5 or Assassins Creed Origins were realistic for Switch, though. Look how long it's taking Bethesda to retool Wolfenstein II.
This is off topic, but there has been an apparent leak of the SNK Neo Geo Mini... Looks great.
http://www.ign.com//articles/2018/05/04/snk-neo-geo-mini-revealed
Nothing for me this week.
The least interesting week of Arcade Archives ever. Both Neo Geo and non-Neo Geo.
Nothing for me. Donkey Kong is a joke at that price. Wasn't Shadow Archery supposed to be free in its first week on Wii U?
Still waiting for yooka laylee discount. Banjo kazooie was such a better name and characters.
Got dk physical
