@reporterdavid He loves his switch. He's nearly 6yrs old and treats it so well. My wife works late at the weekend so we have father and son gaming time in the evening on Saturday usually followed by a film. Love my Saturdays.
@SeantheDon29 honestly? Be sh*t scared of Covid. Nasty bloody virus. Yes the traveling was the issue. Transmission is the issue. Just hold fire for a while. Get vaccinated. Then hopefully everything should get back to some normality. I bloody hate the government but they are sadly doing what's best ( but sadly all too late.)
Honestly people. Work in the NHS. It's not worth it. Put the phone down and step away from the Pokémon. (Honestly Covid is awful. Seen some nasty stuff. Stay safe.)
Zelda collection, Mario and luigi's mansion diorama's, Zelda sound tracks, Mario kart pin badges and game and watch collection for DS. Had some lovely swag from the stars catalogue in the day (I'm in the UK before anyone says we never got good stuff.)
Quick edit as well. Professor Layton box to put the first 3 games in was another nice freebie.
I had to work from home last week due to waiting for my son's Covid test to come back. 2 days of trying to make calls to people with my son shouting "I need a poo!" Emitting from down stairs. One lovely lady I spoke to in regards to my laptop program going t*ts up was also at home with her son with LD who kept telling her how much he loved her while she was trying to talk me through a software recovery. She kept apologising but I found it really sweet. Strange times people. It works for a lot of people but my job is so much better with other people to help/bounce information off with.
Can see the arguments for not upgrading. I however ducked out early of the last gen and sold my One X for £320 before pricing was revealed for series X and the second hand market prices started to plummet. Only had to find an extra £130. Sold so much stuff for other reasons but was able to top up and order my series X. Just finished work to come home to my new console. Happy days.
I would seriously consider this is it was actually coming on cart. As mentioned though it would have to be a bigger size cart (I've been saying for ages that Nintendo needs to get the 64gb released and start reducing costs of the smaller sizes to stop the half game/half code rubbish.)
I've enjoyed some cloud gaming but honestly enjoy native games. Sadly can't take this away with me is the only draw back. Cost of a physical or digital game as well. Will be getting Control Ultimate on Xbox for less than this (might have bought for £15-£20.)
North and South? Good lord that's a blast from the past. Played it on my brother's Amiga... Bit rubbish if I remember but I did play it. Abe New and Tasty mentioned in the comments. Tempted but have it on 3 other platforms.
Selling so much of my retro stuff it's heart breaking. Had massive run of bad luck this year and parting with it all. Have sold a load privately as well. Have pre ordered a Series X but the rest going on new car, replacement switch for my son, stuff we lost in car fire, new washing machine, fixing the boiler... Ever increasing list of ***** really. At least my little family are healthy and I'm employed.
@Silly_G EA grabs magic marker and scribbles out the mess of correcting 19, 20 and 21. Joe Public: So what year am I in? EA: We tell you what year you are in! Joe Public: okay... Do you still want my £45?
EA: This is FIFA 2021 on the switch. Joe Public: Isn't that just FIFA 2020? EA gets magic marker out and crosses out 20 and writes 21 on the cover. EA: No it's FIFA 2021. Joe Public: Okay cool here's £45...
Nintendo have been the kings of selling us things over and over. But they have in the past been great in regards to backwards compatibility. Super Gameboy, Cube GBA player, Wii playing cube, Wii U playing Wii, GB in GBA, GBA in ds and ds in 3ds. I had all my digital Wii stuff transfer over to my Wii U. Digital stuff they have been well behind the times though. I got the 4 swords game for free and transferred over to my 3ds. I have the ambassador games still on my 3ds as well. Also got the Zelda GameCube collection as well as game and watch ds game from stars catalogue. Nintendo have been doing this limited stuff for ages and I bite every time...
@sportvater Thanks. We were safe and thankfully no one injured. It was our car that set fire. Like most long day trips me and my son prepared ourselves with our switches. We had parked up for half an hour for him to stretch his legs and us grab a coffee. On returning to car my wife smelt burning. Some flames were coming from bonnet. While on my phone to emergency services the car had completely gone up taking out 2 other cars and damaging a third. We lost a hell of a lot of money's worth of stuff we are not covered for BUT no one was injured and we more upset for the other people (some people who were stopping half way to a holiday and 100miles from home and a heavily pregnant lady the other side.) His switch and my one couldn't be seen in the wreckage. Did find the carry case for my son's by the car after but carts had been too damaged and switch had been taken out and put in glove box before we left car.
Stressful times but we are safe and my recent retro console sales will pay for my son's new switch. I can just borrow his when he goes to bed. https://photos.app.goo.gl/t9NNo5swAEFFBeWg6
Got my cash ready for series X. Will buy my son his replacement switch after loosing both ours in a fire. Wait and see what's happening in regards to a switch pro before I replace my one (gives me time to save for that as well.)
@twztid13 I have but my son hasn't. We are not going to be playing it any time soon as lost both switch consoles in a car fire yesterday. Also has now changed my outlook on digital games as wiped out our carts in our carry case. At least no one was hurt. Our car did wipe out 2 other cars and stripped paint from a third with the heat.
I'm really looking forward to this. My son however when watching the direct with me shrugged and said "We've played that one." He was more excited for 3d collection and Mario all stars!
I'm happy with anything they throw at us. They do have stuff that they aren't telling us about and that's always been what Nintendo do. When a direct hits I just love the shadow drops and the "oh and one last thing!" A direct is what my tired soul needs right now. Covid 19 has killed any joy I've had in 2020. Been a long year...
@Reigestugatensho My 5yr old has his own switch through birthday money, pocket money and selling toys he no longer wants. Treats it better than most adults would treat their gadgets. Loves it to bits and respects his things.
I will confess to using easy modes on games. Mainly because I don't have much playing time now. Some games I've enjoyed so much I've gone back to play on though at higher difficulty though so I do get my monies worth.
@sanderev I'm not knocking Nintendo. They have done remarkable things with the switch and I'm a day one owner. I'm perfectly happy with my Wii U as well and the amount of games it had. Just I have indeed completed nearly all the games I have and want (again thanks to the portability of the switch) and would love some new spanking Nintendo games. That make me entitled... Possibly but come on who doesn't want more Nintendo games as they are amazing! I have a mass back catalogue on my Xbox one and a steam list the size of my arm. That doesn't make me not hungry for some more Nintendo IP.
30k likes and 30k dislikes on YouTube. I'm more meh. Not disappointed but not over happy. Thing that I didn't like was the more from this series quote on direct minis. Nintendo is obviously sitting on some games as honestly if what we've seen so far was there E3 lineup then it would have been quite depressing. They will surprise us with something this year. Fingers crossed for full fat Direct in the future.
@sixrings very true but crash sold really well on Switch so fan base is already in place. Call Of Duty would sell shed loads as well if it were to hit.
@Ricowtje That's works well if you are at home. The portability of switch means I would want to be playing it away from internet connection. This isn't a deal breaker for me but just a bit of a pain in the arse.
Absolutely loved this game but found it quite short. Completed it in one sitting then mopped up the extra challenges. If you haven't played it though it's worth a punt.
Sold! Will grab this when I'm home from work. Used to play this in a dodgy arcade attached to one of the local pubs in my town. Also I may or may not have played it on MAME... Great game. See if my wife wants a game this evening.
