I beat the early beta and gave feedback, still working on the demo. The biggest issue for me is that you can fly infinitely, so you end up just flying high and strafing around the battlefield. Just doesn't feel particularly engaging, it's just aim and shoot. Maybe if they nerfed flying so you'd have to focus on intelligent positioning and taking cover. One interesting change between the beta and demo is that it now says "Welcome to Your Battlefield" instead of "Welcome to the Battlefield".
@Kulhy I'm sure it's possible, but motion controls aren't quite at the point where they'd be optimal for precision fighting games, especially weapon fighters where one hit is death. Maybe as a side mode.
@JohnnyC That was my point. You can't call someone untalented because they use other tools. @sanderev Please tell me that was sarcasm. Someone making a fan game doesn't mean Nintendo is suddenly incapable of making their own games.
@NGNYS Yes, they put in a lot of work, but the games were very, very successful. And is this fan-made patch (which requires a copy of the original) taking away from that? No one's saying that Nintendo didn't do a good job, in fact, anyone who wants to play this mod is a Nintendo fan who owns official systems and games. We just don't see how taking down fan mods is helping Nintendo. We love everything about Nintendo that doesn't include "DMCA" or "drift".
@Zeldafan79 No talent? He just wants to make a fun sequel to a game he loves but doesn't have a huge studio. Go make your own full game with only original assets, engine, and development tools you made yourself and then call them lazy and untalented.
@Zeldafan79 This was not a copy-and-paste of OoT or MM, it just used that game's assets. They made new environments and whatnot, so this was an original work. Don't hate something you don't understand.
EU. The Japanese art doesn't tell you what the game's about, and the North American art has a huge red border on the right (like all NA N64 games) and oh my lord what is that thing stuck on top of her gun?
I love the comic book look of the Japanese box, but, yikes, the visor clashes so hard it makes my eye hurt. Either stick with the comic book theme completely or ditch it completely. Also, I just realized I share a birthday with this game!
I was surprised that most people preferred the Japanese cover! While the cherry tree provides a very nice ascetic (did I spell that right?), it seems too... calm. Then again, I know nothing about this game, so your opinions are probably more valid than mine.
Still play Wii U for Call of Duty: Black Ops II and some other games. A real shame that Nintendo lacked the foresight to make it more popular than it ended up being.
Excuse me, why is Call of Duty: Black Ops II not on this list? My personal favorite Wii U game, by far. Realistically, though, Activision won't put any Call of Duty on Switch except the latest unless it's a remaster, and they won't do BO2 before BO1. So... Yeah.
Loved the E-Reader feature in Zero Collection on DS, it'd be dumb if they didn't include it here. Remember the one that let you turn the elevator into the cage Vile put Zero in during Mega Man X1? The irony... Love what they're doing here, but I probably won't get it since I have all of the games already. But if they did a Battle Network Collection...
The demo was just unintuitive. It felt like the game was punishing me for not being perfect. Devs should consider that many players haven't played mech games before (not saying that they didn't consider that). I think I'll skip this and just hope that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is on the Switch.
@Rohanrocks88 Zoom? As in aim down sights? That's not really fit for a mech game, especially when you automatically lock on to any enemy in your oversized reticle.
Took the survey after completing 2 missions and dying in the third. The game has potential, but to many things are unexplained. Can I only take 1 part from each enemy? How do pylon weapons work? Am I getting hit? What is the Femto bar for? The devs said that they wanted the player to be able to choose between air and ground, but I feel that I'm supposed to be in the air the whole time. Lack of HD rumble and explanations on how stuff works (including how to kill that huge boss) really kill the demo. I'll still play it, though. Nothing here is wrong that can't be fixed before release.
Personally I wouldn't use this, I'm not competitive, but I applaud Nintendo for supporting the community! This also tells me that Splatoon 3 is farther off than I may have thought. I'm picking up Splatoon 2 ASAP! Edit: Just checked out the website, I'm sad that it doesn't have the cool effects of the normal Splatoon 2 website.
Even if every single Wii U game was ported to Switch, it would still be $800 because the Wii U doesn't come close to any other console to people like me. Also, I love the blue website design! Could users change the color when logged on?
@Hughesy Actually, I've used Balloons to travel fast around the island, and because I can redeploy my glider when all of my balloons are popped, I finally have a use for redeploying.
NINTENDO PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DON'T DON'T DON'T DON'T change the size! I don't want to buy more Joy-Cons or docks or cases or anything like that!
All I really want is better battery life, maybe more internal storage. I could care a whole lot less about graphics, and the screen is more than enough for me. But that's me. If the Switch wants compete with the Xbox Scarlett and PlayStation 5, it needs to be as powerful as the base Xbox One or PlayStation 4. Otherwise, Nintendo will be far below the minimum performance that developers want.
I really hope they don't change the size, because that means all new accessories. But they better improve performance, battery life, and add a 1080p OLED screen (smartphone standard).
They also can't call it Nintendo Switch Pro, because people would think the Pro Controller only works with that model, and/or vice versa. Maybe Switch Plus?

@Ventilator
1) I didn't say anything about Xbox One.
2) Yeah, it probably can't emulate, but ports would be relatively simple.

@Ventilator Sorry, that's just straight-up false, it's superior in every aspect:

@Ashunera84 Yes, but they aren't providing those assets, you have to supply your own ROM, and if you did so illegally, that's on you, not them.

Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #1 - Super Metroid
Japan by far. feels so much more expansive, like there's a world of horrors and challenges beyond just Ridley.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #46 - Sonic The Hedgehog 3
I chose Japan by a small margin, they all look awkward, especially EU.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl: Duel #58 - Super Mario All-Stars
The Japanese art looks too Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #59 - Sonic The Hedgehog 2
JP was the only correct response. So much personality.
Re: Poll: Box Art Brawl #33 - Castlevania (Nintendo 64)
Europe, but they all look bad. The CGI art doesn't feel epic, just anticlimactic.

Re: Reggie Says Wii U's Failure Ultimately Led To Success Of The Switch
If Iwata was alive, he would have seen how the Wii U could be a success.
Re: Reggie Says Wii U's Failure Ultimately Led To Success Of The Switch
@Balta666 Honestly, I have to agree with that entire statement.
Re: Reggie Says Wii U's Failure Ultimately Led To Success Of The Switch
@Balta666 I feel that we have barely touched the possibilities of dual screen, especially single-player. I believe the Wii U has incredible potential.
BTW there's a lot of vs along with the co-op you mentioned. Vs is the best type of local multiplay, especially on Wii U.
