Well, what another busy week we've had. Joker finally arrived in Smash Bros. Ultimate, Capcom announced a new plug-and-play arcade stick, and Reggie has been stealing all of the headlines with his retirement, but now it's time to sit back, relax, and talk about which games we'll be playing over the weekend. As always, members of the Nintendo Life team have gathered to talk about our plans below and we'd love for you to join in with our poll and comment sections. Enjoy!

I'm rather determined to make the best use of this long weekend as possible but, at the time of writing this, I'm not exactly sure how I'll be doing just that. There'll probably be a little bit of Yoshi's Crafted World in there (my partner and I are slowly working towards completion on that one) but I've also developed a sudden desire to pick up any and every older game possible to start a proper collection.
My younger self foolishly decided to sell off a lot of old games and I'm growing more annoyed at myself with each passing day. As such, I might end up trying to figure out the best ways to pick up lots of games or even a console or two that I'm missing for future purchases - there's the pesky matter of saving money for important life things to deal with first, but hopefully one day I'll be able to treat myself! My N64 library, in particular, could use a good boost...

Last Friday I was out of the flat when my Labo VR Kit arrived, but the building superintendent took the delivery. Phew! Unfortunately, I arrived home late that night and said package would remain locked in his office until Monday morning. To add insult to injury, I could see the damn box sitting there through the window!
So, that means I’ll be constructing my cardboard blaster this weekend instead. I’ll also be tinkering with my recently procured original Game Boy in honour of its birthday on Sunday. It’s got a line of dead pixels, but that won’t stop me enjoying some classics. It could do with a cleanup and a backlight, too… I feel a project coming on! Have a fantastic long weekend everyone.

I have decided to skip Cuphead until the physical release hits so this weekend will be once again filled with all sorts of Super Robot Wars T insanity. I will partake in Splatoon 2’s Spring Fest and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Castlevania themed spirit event while giving Joker a proper go. I will also be surely spending an insane amount of time playing Super Nintendo and Game Boy for “nostalgic research”.
My game of the week goes to the artistic carnage of Katana ZERO. When a game gets refused certification in Australia, you know you are in for a good time!
Austin Voigt, contributing writer
My plans this holiday weekend will involve finally sinking my teeth into My Time at Portia, finishing the buildouts for the rest of the Labo VR kit (I’ve only gotten through about half), as well as getting a bit further in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 (I hadn’t played this game before - but I got it ultra-cheap thanks to Target’s catalog misprint, so I finally caved). Excited to have so many new games to dig into!

Tried and failed on Cuphead on PC when it came out so now it's time to get it done on switch
Splatoon 2, Enter the Gungeon, Katana Zero and Cuphead.
I started Valkyria Chronicles recently, and I’ll probably take part in the splatfest at some point in Splatoon 2.
My time will be spent across Super Smash, Minecraft (downloaded yesterday) and possibly Rive, which I got on Wednesday. Glorious Bank Holiday weekend!
Warframe, zelda and trials rising
... a few hours after I wrote this piece, I bought Cuphead on the eShop.
I lack discipline.
This weekend is Wii time. 🤓
I played all of them on my White Wii and they were :
1. Super Mario Galaxy
I have continued the storyline until unlocked Engine Room. Playing on some course were not really fun due to hard to explore levels. 😒
2. MySims Kingdom
Still in the mission on Cowboy Junction.
3. Harvest Moon Tree of Tranquility
Continue my daily chores at farm as Girl character with Owen as my husband.
Final fantasy 10 remaster!
Grinding loot boxes on Overwarch!!!!!
its school holidays. me n my kid are doing capcom belt collection..
For the 2 not on the list warframe and mechoziod or whatever that boss rush game.
This weekend wil be a lot of work for me.
I try to squeze some time in: my time at portia and katana zero, maybe some cuphead
Besides gem crafting and questing in Xenoblade and epic carrot dramas in Nelke, I'm looking forward to trying a few sale items that have combined their appeal to raid my wallet even on the eve of FFXII (which thankfully releases a week before my next payday regardless). Told you Moero Chronicle was no certain purchase. XD Neither was Cuphead after all... but between Mudrunner and Dark Souls alone (both on my wishlist for ages), something tells me I'll have my butt handed to me through the weekend without any cupheads involved. I took a shot at Dawn of Survivors for its price as well but haven't tried it yet either.
And besides it all, my NDS took this time to unshelf itself as well - with Sudoku Gridmaster out of all backlog things. Gamer moods - go figure.
Yoshi, FFX, Tetris 99 and Hearthstone.
Got to force myself to play a little more Blitzball so I can get on with the story.
I’m playing Cuphead despite the great weather in Amsterdam. This game is amazing. I love the music and how coherent the artstyle is. 20 bucks is an absolute steal for this game.
Joker in Smash Bros got me excited for Persona on Switch but if it never happens i’m fine with playing Persona 4 Golden on my dusty PSVITA.
Have a nice weekend all.
Smash Ultimate as somehow I've only had 1 match with lag online since the 3.0 update (don't know whether something has actually been done in the update to improve online or if its just coincidence) and maybe some Splatoon 2 for Spring Fest. On the Xbox front, probably more Halo.
As per the last 2 weeks:
This week I will be mostly playing
Yoshi’s Crafted World
Hydroventure Spin Cycle
Also
Brain Training: Arts
Breath of the Wild Korok Hunt
Super Mario Bros Deluxe
Played Katana Zero for 3 hours last night. First impressions are strong though it lacks the variety of something like Hotline Miami due to the player essentially being tied to a single weapon. That oppressive bassey elecroclash soundtrack does meld well with the gameplay though, and It feels satisfying to cleverly dispatch a room full of enemies.
My friend gave me a copy of MGSV and I’ll also be playing that for the first time. I really liked the other Metal Gear games, so not sure why it took me this long to play it.
Cuphead, Smash and Child of Light.
World of Warcraft. As soon as Classic launch date is announced I’m taking a break.
Pikmin
Yoshi crafted world.
Sonic racing transformed
Finished Hellblade yesterday, so back to a more relaxing genre in My Time at Portia this weekend.
Hellblade was really interesting and I understand what the devs were aiming at, but I'm not sure they fully got there. Still a decent effort at a portrayal of psychosis and the shame that can often surround it.
@NotTelevision Just try to listen to the tapes. In a stroke of Kojima genius, you have to listen to hours of tapes for the story to even sort of make sense. The gameplay's brilliant in V but I wish you didn't have to keep on coming and going from your base.
Final Fantasy X | X-2 HD Remaster of of course, gonna buy it today!
Weird it's not there, it's wonderful to see it coming to Switch
Pokémon Let's Go Eevee (I just got it and it's great!) and Smash bros. Ultimate (stage builder)
Restarted and loving BotW.
Only just bought BotW so that! If I hadn’t it would have been cuphead
@NotTelevision MGSV is incredible, I would recommend Ground Zeroes also.
I just quit FFX as I liked it even less than I remember, but started Pikmin 2 which is even better than I remember. Swings and roundabouts I guess!
Oh and I had major car repairs so I played a bunch of Cuphead and Blaster Master Zero 2 at the garage, stopped at Ye Olde Game store on the way home and finally bought Smash + The Fighters pass. Upon arrival at home my Labo VR was patiently waiting in its delivery box, so I’m diving in there just now. Games, yay.
@nessisonett Thanks for the tip. I heard the base building aspect to the game can be a bit daunting at first. Can’t wait delve into this world.
@Anti-Matter super Mario Galaxy is great game but if you find it boring to start with you shouldn’t force yourself to finish the game.
@Heavyarms55 Try free to play Warhammer Champions for some collecting card game fun on Switch. And maybe once I've learned how to play it we can play each other!
@1UP_MARIO
I still have to collect 26 more Stars.
I cannot stop in the middle of storyline.
Maybe some galaxies are really tough but i have to finish the game as my responsibility.
My Time at Portia. I’m starting to get to grips with it now, having a lot of fun.
Cuphead... I’m stuck at the carnival holy $&@! It’s tuff!!
@WomboCombo Diablo III is boss! And we love you too!
I'll be munching on easter eggs and playing, Pokemon Platinum, Bloodborne and Katana Zero.
@Lionyone naw, no reason to downgrade from Hearthstone.
Unlocked the final stage in Hawaii in Horizon Chase Turbo by winning a Japanese gold cup and silver cup. I must say that felt good! Complete Hawaii and I'll finally unlock Endurance mode. I must say after having sunk over 35 hours in this game that for a 'simple' retro inspired racing game this game is huge. Bear in mind a typical race takes 3 minutes!! The game is amazing and smashing value.
I completed the tutorials on Warhammer Champions so I'll be ready to start learning how to play what increasingly feels a fun game!
And it's beautiful gorgeous weather here in England, hello and good wishes to you all!
Still going strong in Hollow Knight, think I'll be finished this week. Looking forward to Silksong but for now I will need a change of pace as it has completely swallowed all my time and attention
Currently planning to play Yoshi's Crafted World, and going to try and squeeze in a few Splatfest matches. Easter has made this week and weekend busier than usual, hoping to play one of these at least.
Devil Engine, X-Morph and Salt and Sanctuary co op.
I'm surprised Cuphead isn't a higher percentage
Assassins creed unity cos it’s free
@Shiryu gasp
I love Cuphead but can only play it in short bursts, my nerves can only take so much. This makes it a perfect game for Switch at the same time.
I counterbalance this with longer forays into Starlink which is a gorgeous grind in the same way that Cuphead is a gorgeous trial.
Playing Mortal Kombat 11 release .XCI and .NSP
Tax return came so I got a new load of games...
Cuphead
My Time at Portia
Hellblade
Mortal Kombat 11 (eshop preorder)
Dragons Dogma (eshop preorder)
So I’m be spending this weekend with Cuphead and Portia, possibly diving into Hellblade once I finish Cuphead (if I can complete it this weekend, doubtful). This is all if I can break my addiction to Civ 6.... completed so many random matches vs pc - cultural, domination, sci, religious - as various Civs, and against various civs. Still so fun, and still so addicted.
@Anti-Matter 👍🏻It’s a great game. Have fun and good luck
@Dromosus If you think Cuphead keeps ya on your toes and shatters your nerves, try Gungeon. Or better yet, Resident Evil 7 on Madhouse, remote play on Vita with headphones on in the dark. I did a complete madhouse run that way, and my heart has never pounded that hard before or since....
@Anti-Matter Owen was my husband too 😅 That Harvest moon:ToT was a nice one, the loading time though...
Putting a serious dent in Mother 3, and I’m so excited to finally experience this game.
@SockJones Thanks. I’ll check that one out.
When the world is in flames I turn to my core gaming experiences for rest and relaxation. Been playing lots of Mario Odyssey, BotW, Yooka Laylee, MK8 Deluxe and Sonic Mania to de-stress. That’ll be the gaming weekend for me. Cheers all!
Cuphead first and foremost. Then, Splatoon 2 for the Splatfest and a little bit of Smash.
On a family trip with Etrian Odyssey Nexus for company
I'm away motorhoming in the English lake district this week. I love the great out doors but unfortunately my switch screen doesn't. My absolute number 1 improvement on a new model would be to have a screen that could be viewed in direct sunlight. My daughter can watch netflix on iphone and tge missus reads endlessly on kindle. Anyway when I'm indoors I'll likely be looking at my switch menu wondering which of the 40 odd downloads to play and probably not be able to decide
I’m using the weekend staring into the wall waiting for tuesday and my 2 pre-loaded games MK11 and Dragon’s dogma to become playable..
@gaga64 Is Hydroventure: Spin Cycle any good? I had the WiiWare version which I played a few years ago and thought it was good, just wondered if the sequel is a better game.
I will be playing Truberbrook. Started it a few nights ago and love everything about it! The art style is very pretty (think motion stop animation like Coraline) and so far I am liking the characters. It’s very Wes Anderson, and I am so glad I bought the boxed edition.
Splatoon 2 - Starting the SplatFest today.
Ghostbusters: The Video Game (PSP) - Nearing the endgame now
Zombies!!! (Windows Store) - Meh...
Bubble Guriko (Windows Phone) - Still fun.
Mario and Luigi: Bowsers Inside Story for me, almost completed it and it's got to be one of the best games on DS. Am beginning to think the DS Lite is my favourite handheld console (I'm not including the Switch as a handheld).
I’ll be playing Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate and Zombie Defense HD. I lost my joycon grip when we got new furniture, so I think today I will finally go get a pro controller.
Dragon's Dogma
@Dm9982 completing the main quests of Celeste and Hollow Knight is about my level of difficulty. I’m a mid-forties male with mild RSI and the reflexes of a heroin addicted sloth and life gets shorter every day.
Honestly, Smash, Splatoon 2, Cuphead, Katana Zero, and Labo VR are all on the docket.
More than 3 choices please!
@Dromosus ha ha I too feel your pain
Super Smash Bros Ultimate - Joker & Custom Stages
Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law
Animal Crossing
Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne
@wazlon I’ve not played the original yet but I’ve enjoyed it a fair bit so far. The puzzles are the right kind of satisfying, I’ve played about 90% so far and only once been properly stuck. Challenge is more around getting a 5-star score on each level, which I think is likely beyond my patience (at least while I still have a colossal backlog).
Picked up Unravel 2 a couple of days ago and have been enjoying it quite a bit so will continue a bit of that. Will also play a bit of the original Pokemon Sapphire and Smash Ultimate of course
Cuphead is consuming my game time. Never got to play it until the Switch release.
No love for Konami Anniversary Arcade Collection?
Much like Austin Voigt, I ended up getting XC2 (but the Torna expansion ) through targets sale. So I'll be playing some more of that this weekend, only played for an hour or so. I beat spirit tracks last night so my Wii u is taking a much needed break. Aside from xc2 torna, ill be playing a Ton of cuphead, and some celeste. I wanted to play some splatfest or smash but there's really not enough time.
I need to stop buying games...
Nearing the end of A Link Between Worlds and will be happy to finish it.
This week I bought Katana Zero and Hellblade. I’ve played an hour or so of each and they seem great but both work best docked with headphones. I usually prefer to play handheld so might take me a while to get through them both.
I’m playing through Moto Rush GT. it’s not the most sophisticated game out this week, but suitable for quick bursts.
Despite having Hollow Knight, Mark of the Ninja, BotW, South Park, Dead Cells, Diablo 3, Into the Breach and Wargroove to finish...I'll be on Katana Zero, which is excellently weird so far, and maybe starting Cuphead, see what all the fuss is about. And possibly Dark Souls.
I'm planning on beating both Super Mario Galaxy 2 and the Light Realm half of World of Light today; I also plan on playing WarioWare Gold, Kirby's Extra Epic Yarn, the BoxBoy and BoxGirl demo, and maybe Octopath Traveler and the second difficulty of the Animal Crossing Puzzle League campaign.
On the PS4 front I've just jumped into Farpoint on PSVR, and it's off to a good start.
On the Switch side of things I plan on tackling the lengthy Blaster build from the Nintendo Labo Toy-Con 04: VR Kit (starter kit).
So a lot of VR for this guy.
For me it’ll be the Spring themed Splatfest, maybe some Smash, & Super Dragon Ball Heroes World Mission.
Desperate to finish Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, which I’ve been playing since Christmas. Just arrived at the final palace but having some light relief in Cuphead before I try and tackle that nightmare.
@Fake-E-Lee lol burn burn!
Final Fantasy XIV and Poochy and Yoshi's Wooly World
Still addicted to Gems of War on the Switch. On the XBO, I'll be playing some bonus levels and collecting more gold bricks in Lego Star Wars TFA with the kiddo.
Probably Portia and some Smash Ultimate for me.
My weekend is full of family gatherings for Easter, plus I'll need to shove in mowing at some point; there won't be a ton of gaming. I'll use some of my downtime this morning to play more Bravely Second as I think I'm approaching the home stretch. I've spent a ton of time in it on side quests, otherwise I'd likely be finished by now. I'm also hoping to shove in some more action on my SNES Classic Mini; I've mostly been sticking with platformers on it for the time being but have fit in a little Super Mario Kart and Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting here and there.
Have a fun, safe, and blessed weekend!
Finished FF VII yesterday and bought darksiders and FF X. So far really enjoying darksiders as it is a really good Zelda clone (probably the best I played ) even though the combat is a bit too button masher for my taste. It is also a really good break as so far this year I only have played JRPGs on switch (vesperia, XC2, FF IX and VII).
Still playing Axiom Verge for Wii U. As the console's final physical release (has Just Dance 2020 been confirmed?) I had to get it. And it is flipping awesome.
Tales of zestira and probably darkest dungeon
Bayonetta 2 and Smash Ultimate for me. Picked up Majora's Mask, Fire Emblem Awakening and Okami as well, but trying to beat some games before starting those.
Playing (and loving) Cuphead once again. I really struggled on Xbox when I bought it last year and now it’s much easier for me... just entered the third world and hoping to have it completed by tomorrow!
Thanks @Fake-E-Lee for the hell is other demons comment, twice nearly bought it will get it after work today!
I’m playing Tales of Vesperia, Civilization 6, and Mega Man X collection. Have a great weekend everyone!
Final fantasy 7, Golden chocobo grind my goal is Knights of the round summon and all that other tasty stuff.
I don't have Cuphead and Katana Zero, but I voted for them because I want them.
Will be smashing through Katana Zero. Only being utterly shattered last night stopped me from finishing it. Oh the folly of getting old.
Cuphead and Smash Bros on Switch.
Anyone else playing The friends of Ringo Ishikawa? This game is incredible! It’s like Kunio-kun and Shenmue had a baby.
Octopath Traveller. This game is awesome.
@austin_voigt
Even though I've already played through it extensively for review, I'll continue slicing and dicing in Katana Zero. That game is an utter masterpiece.
I'll also be working through Final Fantasy X on Switch. Wonderful to have that RPG paragon on Nintendo.
I finally decided to take the plunge into Smash Ultimate while on a trip. And I must say, as someone who could never get into the slower pace and bleaker visuals Brawl introduced, this definitely rekindled my love for the series. I even liked collecting the spirits as they both give a feeling of progression to the single-player content and allows me to represent my favorite characters that aren't in the game through my collection.
Oh, and I also played through Mega Man 3 and X2 again,
because why not?
Now I am alternating between The Legend of Zelda BotW, Super Smash Bros Ultimate and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom. The rabbid boss of world 3 was really funny 😂
Katana Zero because it is the bees knees.
Just about to start "our world is ended" then il Jim into some splatoon 2 for the new splatfest
@Dromosus Sorry bout your RSI! I’m 36, and feel ya about age and difficulty ratio in gaming. I cut my teeth in NES games long ago, and feel I’ve paid my dues when it comes to difficult games! I honestly don’t typically play on anything but easy, and was only teasing about Gungeon and RE7. Gungeon is difficult, but just plain fun. I have an addiction to Rogues lately, 😆. And as for RE7, I never woulda done Madhouse if it weren’t for 3 things - Unlockable gear (think it was unlimited ammo), trophy (was only one I had left for platinum), and I just plain love the game. On easy difficulty the game is truly cake, and without much in terms of scares. Madhouse however, intense!
I don't have a lot of time on my hands since I'm working, so when I do get the little free time I'm able, I'm playing Katana Zero. This game is just so dang good.
Final Fantasy IV AKA FFII on my Wii, it's been sitting on my Wii for years so i thought "well i'm playing through the FF games again so i might as well see if it is any different to the PS1 version"
and it is, for one it's a hell of a lot easier than the PS1 version for one, which honestly is OK by me, i have a LOT of games to get through so an easy ride every now and then is a nice break
Cuphead and Dawn of Survivors for sure. Perhaps a bit of Yokai-Watch and Detective Pikachu and of course Fortnite.
@Anti-Matter absolutely loved Super Mario Galaxy, it’s a masterpiece, have fun!
Hob. And when it's done: Elli.
After that maybe Katana Zero.
Downloaded Cuphead overnight for my son, it’s his birthday today so he’s delighted, we’ve been playing that on his Switch. Haven’t fired up mine yet but I might start Wolfenstein 2 tonight, and no doubt I’ll have a game or six of Tetris 99... have a great Easter weekend. My son told me it’s about Jesus dying... and then respawning! Lol
I'll be raising the world in the excellent Hob also. If there's time to spare then representing the tortoise in Splatoon 2.
Cuphead is on the list when it hits the sales, not the biggest fan of boss battles and still need to beat tropical freezes final boss.
Borderlands game of the year edition
I found a Playstation Classic for 30 bucks so I'll probably fill my weekend with Final Fantasy 7 and Metal Gear Solid.
Going to continue my Yoshi adventure. I thought it was going to be super easy and short but that’s not turning out quite true. I find myself having a hard time finding one red coin or souvenirs in some of the levels. Fantastic game so far. I also have to help out my fellow Tortoise comrades in Splatfest. Will be a good gaming weekend.
Katana Zero which I’ve almost beat
Cuphead which I suck at
My Time at Portia for such a cute game my character sure likes killing things with an axe. Also why is everyone in portia always running?
Working through FFVII. As I get further through the game I’m using the power booster more without too much shame. I really want to get through the story and move on to FFX!
I'm working on building stages and making (actual) decent videos in smash and grinding my way through cuphead which is an absolute gem and beauty.
2 days out for Passover and 2 days fir Easter back to back. So all hand-held
1. Civ6 on (Swith)
2. Finally Finishing coldsteel 2 on Vita now that CS3 has been announced.
Continuing my second playthrough of Breath of the Wild, still loving every minute of it.
Picking up splatoon 2 after a while off for the splatfest, wow am i rusty! Sorry to anyone who gets stuck on a team with me...
Some enter the gungeon (made it to floor 3 for maybe the 3rd or 4th time ever last night) and tetris 99. If i get chance, might do a bit more of the botw dlc or start a new little game from my backlog, maybe goetia or enter the breach.
Then again, weather is great so maybe just sunshine, bbq and beer!
More Yoshi, Smash and Xenoblade.
Switching between Xenoblade 1-2 regularly, finishing up Caligula Effect, and playing more Fate/Extella Link
Finishing off both Yoshi's Crafted World and the racing game Grip. Also trying to fit in some time for the Splatfest.....
@Heavyarms55 From the just published Nintendo Life review of Dragon Ball World Heroes CCG:
"With the likes of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions proving that you really don’t need Hearthstone..."
Feeding my depression by getting demolished in Cuphead, then a side of Caligula Effect: Overdose and getting thrashed in Smash for good measure.
@MJInnocent
I still have to unlock more Stars and some galaxies are really tough. 😅
Playing through Cuphead. Great game for the most part. Ironically being a run and gun game, the run and gun levels are the worst part for me. A lot of the times it's stuff coming off screen that hits me due to being obscured by foreground elements. Going to try and finish Cuphead this weekend and then get back to Bastion. I'll try to get back to Undertale as my gamer ADD kicked in and I put it on hold to play Cuphead and Bastion.
Cuphead on Switch and Trails of Cold Steel on PS4.
Just started Bleed 2. So far even more fun than the original, and controllers are tighter. Plus starting with the katana is a blast.
Cuphead and Dragon Warrior 1!
Mortal Kombat 11 for me...
NBA 2K19, Resident Evil Revelations 2, Monster Hunter and Street Fighter 30th anniversary collection. I have to get Resident Evil 2 for my xbox at some point, but the Switch has too much to play.
Honestly, I don't plan on playing anything this weekend. My weekend is focused on washing my work uniform and clearing out the DVR of the shows I recorded.
As it is, I still have 20 episodes of Dragon Ball Super left to go, plus 5 episodes of Doctor Who, about 15 episodes of The Big Bang Theory, about 15 episodes of Young Sheldon, and about 7 episodes of The Orville. Don't know what happened to my series recording of the new DuckTales, though.
FM 2019 Touch ( Damn, I play it way more than I should, Lol )
Splatoon 2 ( What can I say, it`s Splatfest! )
Ys VIII ( I took a long break from it, but I came back to see it through to the end. I`m on Chapter 6. )
and Maybe some Dead Cells and South Park Fractured but Whole.
Told myself I wouldn’t buy a new RPG close to Dragons Dogma, but here I am racing thru HOB. Not really an rpg but I def gotta finish so I can purge this crazy map from my brain. Hob has great Zelda vibes, highly enjoying it.
I have to finish Zelda BotW
Smash Ultimate, New Super Luigi U, Yoshi’s Wooly World, and maybe a little Blaster Master Zero 2
I'm busy putting together Thanos armour for next weekend's comic expo, but when I need a break I'll be playing the Gradius series of games from the Konami Arcade Collection.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze for me. I've made my way to the 6th world and it's been a blast!
@Fake-E-Lee Wow it is very addictive!!! I played for a couple of hours but kept going back to the same levels as wanted to improve each one. Love it, thanks again for recommending- I bought cuphead and katana zero and haven't played either due to Hell is other demons!! I was convinced by your comment a while ago to buy assault android cactus and loved that so double thanks! Have a good weekend
Still mastering Zelda:BOTW.
Cheers!
@Lionyone Yeah I know and I don't agree with that review at all. There is a good reason I've been playing Hearthstone for almost 4 years. It's the best digital card game on the market in my opinion. I'd love to have it on Switch, but if not, at least I can play it on PC or my phone when I am desperate.
Hearthstone has an excellent UI, great flavor, and an unmatched player base. I watch even more HS streamers than I play, and I play almost daily.
No offense to people who prefer other card games, but I am deeply invested in HS and have little desire to play another. Pokemon TCGO on Switch might pull me away, but other than that, no thanks. I don't really have much interest in Warhammer.
PSA:
Playing Cuphead at my desk in the office with an 8bitdo controller while waiting for the Mueller Report on Thursday was way better than playing Cuphead in the past with an Xbox controller.
Playing Cuphead this weekend in handheld mode with the attached Joycons was an experience that lasted 30 seconds before I said, “nope”. 😂
Game Dev Story
and Cuphead, Armello
I'm finally getting Zelda BotW! On Monday. It's a bank holiday though so it counts!
Just bought Diablo 3 yesterday. So playing it as the Necromancer
Had a quick blast on Smash, and hadn't played Horizon Chase Turbo for a while so threw that on, I forgot how insanely fast it is, I was terrible. I need to practice more.
Dragon Quest XI and Dragon's Dogma
Cuphead, Smash and Sekiro with a bit of Dreams Early Access. Mostly difficult game weekend
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Ys VIII, Out There demo, and Box Boy + Box Girl demo.
Starlink, Nintendo labo VR kit and maybe smash.
@Shiryu Nooooo! I'm still resisting the digital urge!
Horizon Chase Turbo looks just okay on YouTube videos and I'm a fan of OutRun. Is the replay ability that high?
And I'm hearing so many good things about Katana Zero..! I'm going to wait for a physical for sure, but what exactly is the "clincher" that makes it replayable? I grew up as an 80's resilient-to-game-death gamer, but even after reading the review, what's the characteristic that makes this "great"?
@Magrane I dont know about the replay ability of Horizon Chase because I didn`t finish it yet, but I think it`a fantastic game. It reminds more of Top Gear, though. If you like retro racing games you really couldn`t go wrong with it.
@Magrane Go get Horizon and Katana ZERO right now!
@Heavyarms55 Good review you wrote there on Hearthstone. I've got Hearthstone on Xbox but never got into it, maybe I need subtitled videos (I don't hear well). I absolutely loved Gwent until they changed it and ruined it out of greed, and I still hope Gwent will improve back like it was! Good Gwent on Switch I need!
Civilization 6
@Lionyone I think you might be confusing Hearthstone with a different game, it isn't on any consoles at the moment.
Claire's campaign in Resident Evil 2, started a new farm in Stardew Valley, and continue my adventure in FFX. Really enjoying my game time with these trio of games. Going to trade in RE2 once I'm done with it and get Kingdom Hearts 3. Also going to jump in Yoshi Crafted World for a bit (great addition to the Yoshi series).
Hell Is Other Demons. What an absolute masterpiece
@baller98 @Shiryu @Lionyone
Alright, you guys convinced me. And I thank you for it!
@Scottwood101 why is Hell Is Other Demons so good?
@Magrane for me, the visuals and soundtrack are second to none if you're a fan of 8 bit/ 16 bit. But then the controls are perfect, the progression system to upgrade your character is quality, there's tonnes of replay value to score bonus achievements in each stage such as taking no hits, using no weapons, using no special weapons etc. There's a campaign mode, endless modes, online leaderboards, an arcade mode with extra characters to be unlocked, dozens of colour palettes, loads of options to adjust the video settings etc. All round just a great value game for about £6 on the south African eshop
Just completed hob. Be aware that there are two endings as it's poorly explained. Great game, highly recommend.
Having never played Cuphead on any other device I am having absolutely no issues with the Joy Con attached. Sure I die plenty but it’s me, not the controls. I’m playing stock also, didn’t feel the need to customize. I think the Joy Con agonizing is way overblown, but I guess I don’t have sausage fingers?
