@abHS4L It'll either be what Lz said, or it'll be like when the ambassador games get released to the public and get a few changes.
When you go to the eShop it'll probably say that an update is available for software that you own, and then ask if you want to download it or something like that.

Either way, it'll be simple. ;)

BenAV commented on Pinball Arcade Coming To 3DS and Wii U:

Sounds interesting.
If it turns out well then I'll certainly consider it, but I won't be pledging any money on Kickstarter for it.
Zen Pinball 3D has me pretty satisfied as far as pinball goes for a while, but if more good games come, I shall buy.

Awesome, sounds like a good week.
Free Mighty Switch Force levels are very welcome!
Going to give Art of Balance a go.
Never played the WiiWare game but considering it's apparently so good, I'm hoping this'll be the same.
Hopefully it'll make up for Fun! Fun! Minigolf TOUCH.

BenAV commented on Redesigned Wii U Tablet Controller Is Revealed:

@DAaaMan64 Sure, that's one use of a multitouch screen but I can't see the system being used for too many things like that even with a multitouch screen.
This system appears that it's going to be like a DS expanded into a home console rather than anything else, and in my personal opinion using the same touch screen tech that they've been using for their DS systems is a good choice.
It's accurate and you can use your finger, fingernail, stylus or whatever else you choose.
Seems like a good choice, but that might just be me then.

BenAV commented on Redesigned Wii U Tablet Controller Is Revealed:

@DAaaMan64 I suspect that the Wii U will use the touch screen for mostly the same sort of things as the DS/3DS does, and probably less often.
The 3DS's touch screen works perfectly fine for everything they need it to do, and I don't see how the Wii U will be any different.
I understand that many people like you would much prefer it if they included a multitouch screen, but I'm also pretty sure there's a lot of people like me who'd prefer they just leave it how it is.
Both ways have their positives and negatives, but what they have now has been proven to work on their handhelds and will works just as well on the Wii U.
No matter what Nintendo do, they're not going to please everyone.

@Mercury9 I wasn't trying to be mean.
You have a right to your opinion just like everyone else, so if you think those things will benefit the system, then that's fine. ;)

I just wanted to point out that personally, I don't see how the things you suggested would be practical with how the controller is set out.
But hey, I could always be wrong! :P

@Mercury9 You try playing the thing upsidedown and see how that goes for you.
There's no way you'd be able to get a good grip on the controller, and good luck using the shoulder buttons probably on the bottom of the controller.
A left handed mode is completely unnecessary considering the system is practically symmetrical. The dpad can be used as face buttons for a game that uses the stylus, and for the rest it'll work just fine how it is.
Also, considering you asked, the analogue sticks and buttons are all near the top so you can actually use the shoulder buttons without having to stretch out your hand how far it would go.
It looks very comfortable how it is now... What you suggested sounds painful.

@DAaaMan64 Multitouch is unnecessary.
For a system like the Wii U, there are going to hardly ever be a practical use for it.
The touch screens on the DS systems continues to work really well, and there's no reason for them to fix what isn't broken.
I'm also really not to fond of the touch screen on my phone, either.

BenAV commented on Redesigned Wii U Tablet Controller Is Revealed:

I believe that this probably is a later model than the one at E3 last year.
For one, the buttons just seem to be in a much more practical position. It'd be a shame if they decided to move them just for the sake of it being slightly more visually appealing.

Also, if this was an earlier version, I don't see why it would have a Wii U logo on it and the more recent E3 2011 model would not, unless they'd already decided to change the name before the newer version, which they clearly hadn't.

I think there's still a chance for a few changes before E3 this year, but it does seem more likely that this is a newer model to me.

BenAV commented on Redesigned Wii U Tablet Controller Is Revealed:

The right square seems to be a clickable button whereas the left one looks like it's not, so that might support what @Nin-freak said. We'll just have to wait and see.

Also, I'm sure the analogue sticks are going to be quite comfortable if they're there on the final design.
I'm sure they've gone to a lot of effort to make sure they're comfortable to use, and they look pretty wide and they don't stick out much, compared to previous analogue sticks such as on the nunchuck and Classic Controller Pro.

Why is E3 still so far away? I want more details.

BenAV commented on Retailers Call for Summer Blockbusters:

I usually tend to find games I want throughout the year, but it is true that the most exciting ones usually come towards the end of the year.
That's all fine by me.
The only problem for me is trying to find the money to pay for them all, but if I know what's coming beforehand it gives me a chance to try to save up.
Time isn't so much of an issue, as my whole break from Uni comes at the end of the year.
I believe I have from about November until March off to play as much as I can. :P

Good review.
As long as the gameplay is solid, I'm sure I'm going to get a lot of fun out of it.
Can't wait till next Thursday!

Now time for them to get working on a new Mario Golf!

BenAV commented on Mario Kart 7 Update Available Now:

@Ulala The patch is only for online multiplayer.
But for local multiplayer, it's easy for everyone to just agree not to do it so that shouldn't be too much of an issue, unless all your friends are cheaters, and then you don't have to play with them. :P

And I completely agree with @Duney
I never picked the track, and I don't care so much about my VR, but I like to keep my win-loss record up considering that gets StreetPassed to everyone that I walk past, so if the track gets chosen I would always take the shortcut just so I don't run in last and get a bunch of unavoidable losses.
I don't see what's so bad about taking it if nearly every single other person in the race is taking it, it just makes it a fair race.
Also, quite often, once you beat them at their own game, the people picking the course will either quit or choose something else so then you don't have to keep racing on the track over and over.
But anyway, it's patched now, so now everyone can race fairly and people can stop whining about it.

Also, I don't understand why everyone always says it gets picked every race.
I've got a VR of over 10,000 so I've played a fair bit, and it would get chosen every now and then, but not noticeably more than any of the other popular tracks.
Maybe I just got lucky for the many hours I spent playing that it was never chosen much?

BenAV commented on Nintendo Patents 'Ornamental Design' for 3DS C...:

Interesting.
I quite like the Circle Pad, but my fingers do slide off them a bit at times when I play for ages and my thumb gets a bit sweaty so that could be cool.
I guess we'll see it in the next design, which I'm hoping will be the same size as the current system with a lot of improvements.
If that's the case, then day one buy.
No 3DS XL, please! D:
Also, wouldn't be too surprised if we saw something like this on the Wii U controller, it would make a lot of sense.

@James I see, well, it looks good. :P

And just to add to my other comment, the Australian eShop says:
"Please note that from 15 May 2012, this update will be required to play online multiplayer."

@K964 I think that must just be a typo.
I was just playing online for a few hours and nobody managed to cheat, and the Australian eShop says the 15th, I'm pretty sure.

@sillygostly I always use my Debit card on the UK eShop and it works perfectly fine.
I usually just find a currency converter online before I buy to find out how much I'll end up paying.
Pretty much, I think games end up being a little bit cheaper when you buy them from the UK eShop than when you buy them from the Australian eShop.
VVVVVV cost me $11.59 when I bought it last night, and I'd suspect it might be $12 when it arrives here.

Just finished downloading VVVVVV.
I wonder why Australia's been missing out on nearly everything for the last few weeks.
If we couldn't change region like with the DSi I'd be annoyed. :P

BenAV commented on DSi and DSi XL Price Drops Announced for North...:

That makes sense.
The DSi XL being the same price as the 3DS was ridiculous.
I feel sorry for any unsuspecting people who bought one, not realised that there's a newer system that can play the same games plus more, for the same price.
