Wii U Basic

Earlier today, Nintendo confirmed there will be a couple of Wii U bundles coming to Europe from 4th October, with The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD - which comes with a beautifully customised GamePad - and LEGO City: Undercover being the games of choice.

Both of these bundles will include a Premium Wii U, meaning there will be 32GB of storage space, instead of the Basic model, which has just 8GB.

Well, it seems this will be the way forward from now on, as Nintendo has told Eurogamer the Wii U's Basic model will become "limited" in the UK as it focuses on the Premium version:

The current Wii U Basic Pack will become limited in supply. However, we are always looking for fun and interesting ways to package up our products for different groups of fans.

The Wii U Basic Pack has sold significantly less that the Premium model since launch, so it's not a complete surprise Nintendo has chosen to give more backing to the beefier version, at least in the UK.

Do you think this is the right tactic for Nintendo, or would you have liked a Basic console bundle? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
