SmoochyTea commented on Review: Legend of Kay Anniversary (Wii U):

Well I got it this week, got to play it yesterday. I do enjoy playing it, although it does look like an upscaled GameCube game, including the chunky camera control and you need glasses for the incredibly small (subtitle) font. However, everything is super smooth which is really nice for an action platformer. It is quite fun to play. Basically, I agree with the review.

SmoochyTea commented on Nintendo's Official UK Store Promises Extra St...:

I want Toad and Mario from the Super Mario Collection. I want to use the Toad in Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker. Also Splatoon Inkling Girl would be nice. Not that I'm in the UK, but still...

The webshop I order my amiibo from had restock this week as well. Not only the new wave, but also some of the older ones (such as Marth) were restocked. Although you have to act fast, the new wave was sold out in an hour. I was lucky... They arrive tomorrow, I'm hyped ^^

SmoochyTea commented on Reggie Fils-Aime Tackles Metroid Prime: Federa...:

Well, I find his answers to be fair enough.
Then again, I'm not a raging behind about anything that I do not like. Some people need to mature asap. I said it before and I will again, Nintendo makes great games and they decide themselves what they do and develop, not the fans or the gamers. Sometimes it is nice to try out something new instead of repeating history.
As long as they are in legal bounds, it is all a market thing. If you're furious about a release then do not buy it. But for the love of everything that I adore, calm down... Maybe I am just an elderly person, but please get off my lawn.

SmoochyTea commented on Début Splatfest Postponed in North America :

@rjejr You might have a point there. I don't know how Splatfest works yet, but they might have assumed approximately a 50/50 split. If the actual split turns out to be 80/20 for instance, you might get some situations in which there are no opponents to battle against for 60% of the people, resulting in what they described. But that's just a hypothesis.

I personally don't really care that they postponed it. I don't have time to play this weekend anyway. Also, are the Splatfests the same for Europe or will there be separate ones? In which case I would have preferred it if they made it global like the other modes.

SmoochyTea commented on Editorial: Cheer Up, There Are Some Exciting G...:

There are some games that I am really looking forward to.
I feel people got their hopes up way too high, almost expecting something unreasonable. It is just a conference where game developers can show some games THEY would like to show. It is not a magical event were fans are in charge.

SmoochyTea commented on Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, amiibo 3...:

Must ... buy ... all ...
I just can't resist the cuteness... I think I'll actually gift that New 3DS limited edition or cover plates to a friend of mine. I've been wanting to gift him a New 3DS so this will be sweet as he loves Animal Crossing.
Collecting all these cards will be expensive as something though...

SmoochyTea commented on Reaction: There is a Positive Angle to Nintend...:

"It's a reality of the modern world that when all is going smoothly little praise is given, but the tables can turn when things go wrong."
This is so incredibly true for all kinds of software. People forget how much work goes into developing decent software in general. As a software developer I see this quite often. I mean, it's not like Nintendo intended to run into these kinds of problems yesterday.

SmoochyTea commented on Nintendo is Discontinuing the Basic 8GB Wii U ...:

I love the white Nintendo consoles. They are so pretty. I actually waited before buying a Wii U until there was a white premium model. In the end I got the Wii Party U Bundle, which was a great deal imho. I really, really love it. You're gonna need an external hard drive after your first large downloaded game anyway. The white is just so soothing. I even had to import white Wii U Pro Controllers from the US because those are not sold here (even though Nintendo had them at an event stand, so I bitched about it there) ... Totally worth it though
(Btw: It was cheaper to import two of them from the US including shipping and taxes than to buy them here retail.)

SmoochyTea commented on Rumour: Customisable Mii Fighter amiibo Could ...:

Well, if you think about it... Nintendo could just make a service where you can select a Mii in Mii Maker or in Super Smash Bros. and upload it and purchase an amiibo of it through the eShop. Nintendo could just get high quality 3D printers or hire an external company and start producing these things on a larger scale? Maybe it isn't even necessary to use 3D printers as the parts you use for your Mii are limited so they could just produce these and glue them together? I don't know, just some thoughts I had about the feasibility...

It seems possible, although perhaps a bit too much effort? Although I must say I would personally love an amiibo of my Mii.

SmoochyTea commented on Review: Mario Kart DS (Wii U eShop / DS):

I like the virtual console release. It is just an emulation so you can expect certain limitations.
What I do wonder is whether Nintendo implemented the emulation of the wireless communication of the DS. After all, you can still try to connect to Nintendo WFC. It might still try to connect to the now-offline servers, although that might be farfetch'd. I guess I could try to capture the network activity, but I can't be bothered to be honest.
Mario Kart 8 is much more entertaining if you ask me. Even though it lacks the extras like missions.

SmoochyTea commented on Weirdness: Pokémon Fan Finds a Way to Trade F...:

Omg, I did almost the same about 3 years ago I allowed trading with yourself and injecting a new attack on the received Pokémon.
Roughly the same time as I wrote a Game Boy Printer library for Arduino. It's fun material.

SmoochyTea commented on Video: New Nintendo 3DS In-Depth Review: Episo...:

@Ralek85 The head tracking works by illuminating you with an (invisible) infrared LED to the right of the camera. For that reason I think it will work in the dark rather fine.

What I do wonder is if the battery life suffers from the camera being used all the time.
