Re: Mastered The Lanes In Wii Sports? Super Funky Bowling Could Be Right Up Your Alley

@NatiaAdamo Well you could put it that way if you want. Fuze is much more than a game though, it’s a whole programming environment enabling you to create your own games and share them. It also has an awesome and very helpful community as well as great tutorials to learn from if you are a newbie.

If you want to see examples of stuff made in Fuze, you could for instance check out the monthly Fuze game jams here:

Re: Review: Game Builder Garage - A Toolbox Of Terrifying Potential

This looks like a great tool to teach gaming concepts to children (and others), and the next stepping stone after this is to switch to powerful and easy-to-learn text-based programming with Fuze, which is also on the Switch!

Fuze has far less restrictions, editors for sprites and maps, and a great community. Check it out if you are interested!

Re: eShop File Size Of Nintendo's New Switch Title Game Builder Garage Revealed

This looks really cool!

I do however think that it is better to jump into actually writing code, and it is definitely something kids can pick up quickly too.

Luckily, there are two alternatives for that on the Switch: Fuze4 and SmileBasic. Both of them also lets people share and download other's creations.

I haven't looked at SmileBasic that much, but I know that Fuze4 has a great and very supportive community around, making it a good place to start out as a novice game maker.

Re: Pop Album Video Game Sayonara Wild Hearts Arrives On Switch In 2019

From their blog:
"Sayonara Wild Hearts is a soup made of pop-culture. It’s OutRun, the teddygirls sub-culture, Carly Rae Jepsen, Rez, cafe racers, WarioWare, Blümchen, the 1950s, modern dance, Akira, F-zero, Space Harrier, Sia, Gradius, the 1980s, Charli XCX, Sailor Moon, Ouendan, Tron, Rhythm Tengoku, Punch Out and a good portion of ourselves, strangeness and mysticism stuffed into a blender."

That's my jam, right there.

15 hours? That seems too long. I don't get why developers can't deliver a tighter, more focused experience. With the amount of games coming out for the Switch, a 15 hour game is likely to end up in the started-but-never-managed-to-properly-finish pile.

10 hours or less should be the gold standard for these kinds of games.

Re: The Switch eShop Now Lets You Search for Game Demos

@Riff-the-Don
This is how you search for demos in the Japanese eShop:

1. Change the keyboard layout to 日本語 ローマ字入力.
2. Type taiken (it will come out as たいけん)
3. Choose the first alternative in the auto completion list; 体験. (demo is 体験版)
4. Search.

Re: Hands On: RiME Lights Up On Nintendo Switch

Weird that so many people are complaining about the length of the game compared with the price...

For me it is the other way around, I will gladly pay more if I know the game is shorter, since that means I will likely get to finish it. Longer games, I tend to start them, and then stop (thinking I will eventually continue further on) when the the next shiny thing appears.

Re: Review: SteamWorld Dig 2 (Switch eShop)

So happy to hear about the length of the game! It means it might actually be a game I play all the way to the finish!

I really wish more games kept the play times to under ten hours... I'll gladly pay more for shorter and more focused games, than bloated epics that I will buy, start, and then never finish.

Re: Mario Kart 8 Free Wii U Game Promotion Extended to Scandinavian Countries

vinicity

Great news! Bergsala actually delivers after years of disappointments...
Nintendo needs a new distribution company in Scandinavia. Someone that makes the effort, and at the very least gets a proper Club Nintendo running. Maybe even gets some advertising done? There should be Mario Kart advertisements all over the place by now to build the hype, but instead there is nothing.

Re: StreetPass Relay Issues Reported in North America

vinicity

In Sweden the relays seem to be working fine. I pass two every day on the way to work, so I am guaranteed 4 streetpass hits every day. (One is the Central Station and one the main bus terminal here in Gothenburg.) I have also tried the big ferry (StenaLine) terminal across from where I work at that seems to work fine too... All three are powered by Cloud, and I never had to open the 3DS or accept any connections beforehand.
