Annapurna Interactive has revealed that Florence, described as an "interactive storybook", is launching on Nintendo Switch next week.
The game has players experiencing every moment of Florence and Krish’s relationship through a series of gameplay vignettes, following the couple as they grow together, drift apart, and everything in between. It originally launched on iOS and Android devices, snapping up an Apple Design Award and a BAFTA for Best Mobile Game in the process.
Here's an official description taken from the game's Google Play page:
At 25, Florence Yeoh feels a little stuck. Her life is an endless routine of work, sleep, and spending too much time on social media. Then one day, she meets a cello player named Krish who changes everything about how she sees the world.
Experience every beat of Florence and Krish’s relationship through a series of bespoke gameplay vignettes – from flirting to fighting, from helping each other grow... to growing apart.
Drawing inspiration from ‘slice of life’ graphic novels and webcomics, Florence is intimate, raw and personal.
The game's set to launch on 13th February for $5.99. You'll be able to download it directly from the Nintendo Switch eShop.

There's obviously a market for this, otherwise the Switch wouldn't be home to so many visual novels. But, it's what people like. Not my cup of coffee.
Played this on iOS, very sweet and touching experience, though it’s short and can be completed in 45 minutes approx
It’s utterly brilliant. I recommend it to anyone.
This game is beautiful
This is good stuff. I played it when it dropped on iOS forever ago.
I think my minimum is about 3 euros and that's if I can get the game for 3 euros tops. But 1 hour of gameplay is way too short, sorry.
Won’t lie, the concept of this makes me feel more than a little queasy.
@Moroboshi876 Florence is more like a short paperback than a game. You'll come back to it again and again over the years just to experience the story. I must have finished it 15 times on iOS and it never gets old.
I thought this was great on iOS. It’s weird and sweet and well written. Totally worth the $$ and time and really well done.
I think there will be people taken a bit aback by the pricing. But to be fair, this game hardly broke even on mobile, despite the praise from most who played it, the support from Apple & Google in their respective marketplaces and winning several mobile game awards. I hope Florence can get some rejuvenation on Switch, especially with Valentines Day coming up.
Loved this game on the iPhone. So great that Switch users get to experience it!
I've seen plenty of mobile games asking for $20 or $30 or more on the Switch. This is downright reasonable.
@RadioHedgeFund Ok, good to know, but I'm not in a rush, so I'll wait for a price drop. Not that I have a shortage of games anyway. Thanks.
Got this on iOS when it launched, I was very disappointed. I’m a sucker for a pretty game that’s focused on story but this was just way too simplistic.
What a surprise. I bought and played this on Android and it´s a nice, charming little game. Too bad it is so short. It would be awesome if it had got some extra chapters for the Switch
This game is fantastic!
This games are only for young hipster milenials addicted to starbucks. If they knew the games of old they would not be playing this. But oh well in this times of extreme soyboyeri its no wonder this game has so many "awards"

I'm 38, and have been gaming since I could first hold an Atari VCS controller. I've finished countless games in all genres across every generation since. Please kindly f#$& off with your false machismo and gatekeeping.
A heterosexual relationship in 2020? I can hear the SJW rage already! LMAO
@mist I don't think you've ever meet an actual "sjw" outside of an internet stereotype. Non would care that this game has a hetero relationship. Non.
@Capt_N Not all visuals novels are equal, some are very good, like Root Letter.
@Capt_N : One of the first (if not the first) Japanese romance visual novels released in the Western eShops revolved around male prostitution and I have been completely put off by the genre since.
Florence looks good though. I like the idea of a short and sweet experience.
I've played it a bit on the train last night and I am really enjoying it. There isn't much in the gameplay department, but the game is punctuated with little moments where you tidy up a room, join jigsaw puzzle pieces to form speech balloons, and rub off/shake items using the touch screen (or with the Joy-Con in docked mode).
It's a really sweet and relaxing experience and I would recommend the use of the stylus if you have one.
I saw surprised to see that there was Turkish as a language option as well. Given how short (apparently) the game is, I'll definitely give it a go in Turkish on my second play-through.
The graphics are crisp and clean and the music is relaxingly melancholic.
