It's odd, for lack of a better term, that the negative stereotype of what a gamer looks like is so embedded in people's minds that when someone doesn't fit it they are called a fake.

I saw this quite some time ago but no site reported the delay. I thought maybe they accidentally put the wrong region release date for NA.

It was sold out everywhere in my corner of North America but I don't think that means they will necessarily hit their target. They will have to sell more than they did at launch.... PS4 and Xbox One were also sold out as well.

I think Wii HD would make it seem like a somewhat superfluous upgrade and rely far too much on HD being a selling point.

I like the Gamepad but its seems more like a welcome addition (map in Pikmin, off-tv play) than a necessity. Nintendo has yet to release a game that makes you feel like it couldn't be played without it.

I saw the commercial a week ago and almost immediately bought some. Then I remembered it's probably gross. Apparently, it's been on shelves awhile now.

@unrandomsam There probably is only one special world because of dlc.
And, I believe, 3d land is the only mario game to have more than one.

The "New" Legend of Zelda....so glad that was cut

I own it and although I agree with what they said it doesn't seem that bad playing the game. The matter of fact way it is put makes it sound unplayable. Overall, it's just not as engaging as the other Batman games. I'm halfway through and have really lost the desire to see the game to the end. The gameplay has become repetitive, the story isn't as interesting, and the side quests seem more like a chore rather than adding to the experience.

This really is the best job they've done marketing to parents thus far

I'm wondering, if like 3D Land, it will have an additional 8 worlds after the first section. It already has so many extra modes.

Had three friends over on Friday. We played each sport once and then popped in Nintendoland. Nintendoland definitely trumps Wii Sports Club for local multiplayer.
I know the controls have been improved but I really felt like I was simply playing WIi Sports.

It's a neat idea but, personally, I didn't care much for the Ballad of the Goddess. These melodies are best played forward.

I think it's fair to say the Wii U virtual console is bad. Nintendo set it's own precedent with the Wii. The virtual console wasn't at launch but when it was up and running a few months later, there were three games every week. I'm sure many virtual console projects have been put on the back burner as Nintendo pushes major Wii U software.

Just release the games (any pokemon game) on the virtual console finally!

Pushing down the bridge is a cool mechanic too but I almost wish they didn't show it.

I have a feeling based on the different prices of each weapon you may be pushed into doing the dungeons in a certain order anyway...Not that big of a deal to me because I never hated on the traditional Zelda mechanics anyway

He also said Wind Waker seemed most improved with HD. I'm all for WW HD but I find it hard to imagine TP wouldn't have benefited more. I've been playing again and it looks pretty grainy these days.

I think it's pretty clear it is aimed towards young kids. It look much less like a gadget and more like a toy. It seems like a smart move. Even though you can turn the 3d off, some parents might feel uncomforatable buying something with a feature that is labeled as potentially harmful to kids under 7. We'll see in the sales.

The day Nintendo goes multiplatform is the day the company goes completely bankrupt and must sell it's assests piece by piece.

I thought their holiday approach would be bundles. Is the PS4 selling at a loss? I know producing the gamepad is expensive.

The industry is facing challenges other entertainment industries have faced. Film faced VHS, DVDs, Blurays, television, streaming yet movie theaters exist to this day. Why? Because the experience is still different.

I love NintendoWorld....except they force you to put the Wii wrist strap on which look like they'd give you herpes.

I can understand people thinking this is unfair but, personally, I'm not bothered by it.

Discounts and early releases may get me to buy digital one day. The early release would have to be like a week though not just 24 hours.

I think games must not sell well in NA during July. Many games being released in August were released in EU in July.

If popular and substantial games are given premium pricing then short dated games should have discounted pricing.
Earthbound for 10 good. (Though, the fact that we know it was 30 cents in Japan doesn't help.)

For everyone talking about them freaking out, that's really just how Japanese television goes. At least the talk shows, it's pretty over the top reactions all the time. Kind of like American infomercials.

@CanisWolfred : I didn't say it would be like hitting a button or that they are guaranteed a profit. I said the cost to port it wouldn't be high. By that I mean high enough to be of great risk. They are already casting a very wide net. I'm not saying they have to put it on Wii U but the game will sell better on some platforms and worse on others.

I don't know enough about the game to say I would buy it. However, the cost of porting a game for digital release after porting it to so many platforms with similar archetecture cannot be that high.

I didn't have an HDTV at the launch of the Wii but a few years in ('08 I think) I did.

They released their games at launch in 2012. Games sell best when they are initially released, This percentage isn't all that meaningful.

I'm happy about the earthbound release but the premium pricing ia not justified.
