Personally I'm sad that he has moved away from game development. He is the "Nintendo magic" ingredient that people used to talk about. Thank you Shiguru for the games and the memories.
I can still remember playing and completing Metroid prime 2 on GameCube. It has a very good difficulty level, quite hard but doable. For me MP2 is the most memorable of the trilogy.
All the complaints about the review score!
I'll give you my review - I played it when it came out on GameCube - it was €50 brand new - played it in the evenings after work - took me a month to complete it - I enjoyed it.
It's not the greatest game ever made guys. It is however a very good game with limited replay value.
I think Nintendo releasing so many first party games this late in the Switch's lifespan, is "hopefully" proof that Switch 2 will be backwards compatible. Otherwise it's a bit more confusing, because they never did this before. Nintendo console's are usually abandoned by Nintendo as they move their focus to the new hardware.
I always said it was the best. I could never understand the negative opinions. I can clearly remember playing it when it came out on GameCube and it is was the best feeling.
I have a funny suspicious Nintendo have quietly changed tact, at this late stage in switch's lifespan. Look at the games being released now, Metroid dread, Prime remastered, Tears of the kingdom and Pikmin 4. They're all games firmly aimed at core gamers.
They have the casual market cornered, now they are going after gamers like me. On playstation, nothing really happening, I'll buy a switch.
I recently got my first switch. I'm really liking Metroid dread.
@Coderie What's right for you is right for you. I have a large backlog of games so I don't need to be in a hurry to buy newly released systems. I've games coming out of my ears. It's not like years ago when power played a part. All consoles are powerful nowadays. My approach is; I can wait. I've plenty of games to play. Some games I will find hard to wait for and wish I could play. Mario Odyssey will be hard not to have. I can't buy a Switch to play one game. That is the only game I want on the system at the moment. I'm not telling anyone not to buy a Switch. The more that is sold the better the future prospects will be.
@nwel I'm only making suggestions that's all.. I love first party Nintendo games as well. I'm not into Splatoon, Mario I love. When there are more original games from Nintendo on Switch I might feel different. I'm a massive Nintendo fan.
@electrolite77 I'm not telling anyone not to buy a Switch. Just suggesting options because he doesn't think it is worth buying at the moment. Either do i. He makes valid points that can't be brushed under the carpet. It's the first Nintendo console that I have zero interest in. It's a hand held littered with ports from last gen.
I've an Xbox one elite console. I also have Forza 6 and R Replay.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I totally agree with you. No way is Switch worth the asking price
Buy a PS4, then come back in a few years when Switch has a better catalogue and the price is better. That's what I'm doing. At the moment Switch is not worth the money. I reckon it'll be another 4 years before it's worth a purchase. If even ever.
Lots of optimism here. If that converts to sales figures this could be the first of many PS3/360 era games on Switch. There is a treasure trove of games on that generation that could easily be converted to Switch.
Who wrote this bull? Sunshine is one of the best Mario games ever. I replayed sunshine, got all 120 stars a couple of years ago and I can confirm it's an incredible game.
@samuelvictor I genuinely didn't mean to offend anyone with the MD comment. I kinda forget there are Sega fans on this site also. Hell we all love gaming.
@samuelvictor I'm seriously not blinded. Back in the day I swapped my SNES just for a couple of days with a friend. I couldn't wait to get my SNES back. I was shocked by the poor quality of, not only the games but the console itself. The cables were really thick and hard to bend. It just didn't look a classy as the SNES.
I'm not a fanboy I play all the consoles from all the manufacturers, and have always done, but I know what I like and I wasn't impressed with the MD.
Btw I played Virtual racing in the arcade and on the MD. In the arcade you could hear my jaw hitting the floor. No other game ever made that kind of a impact on me graphically. On the MD it was ok. An arcade port as such. My friend had it. Good golf games on MD.
I have the the Mega drive ultimate collection on PS3. I'd never sell it.
When Starfox was originally released I was amazed. I know it's nothing by today's standards, but it was great then to have a console that could do 3d. The Mega drive couldn't do this. 😊 I felt like I was playing a game that cost millions to produce. Bit innocent now I know, but there you go ☺️
It wasn't as good as SMK, which I and a lot of people considered to be the SNES's best game, but it was still good.
@Pazuzu666 I am planning on playing Yoshi's island to completion and Star fox 2 and I'll give SMK a bash. There could have been more games but to be honest I'm just glad it's actually being released at all. It's a unique little device with some of the greatest games from a very special era in gaming. Like you I'm 99% sure/hoping I will receive one.
It's certainly not a golden era for Nintendo. As for gaming being cheap! Nintendo give less for your £ than the competition. Sony offer the best value. No interest in indie games at all. My time is too precious to be wasting it playing crap.
About a million a month. That's the kind of numbers they need to be hitting if they hope to sell 60m consoles. Even though I've no interest in Switch at its current state. Well done Nintendo.
I hope Nintendo sell 100 million Switch consoles. Then in about 6 years I'll be able to pick one up on Adverts for under €30. Same as you can with a Wii right now. 😁
I'll probably wait and buy one with a bundle of games for about €60.

9/10 is about right.
Re: Where To Buy Pikmin 4 On Switch - Best Deals And Cheapest Prices
Apparently Ireland is the most expensive place to buy it. Unless we import a foreign version from Europe. Thanks Nintendo.

Stunt race FX would be something special.

Re: Nintendo Direct June 2023 - Every Announcement And Game Reveal
Gotta say - Nintendo are on fire. I've only just got my first switch and I don't regret it. Pikmin 1&2, pikmin 4 and Mario wonder really appeal to me.
