I have owned at least 2 current consoles since the GameCube generation. Last gen at one stage I owned all 3 consoles but I hated the 360 so I sold it. I now have a PS4 and a Wii u. I think it's more common than you think. But Nintendo are not a second console they are my main console.

It could be to do with the losses expected at the beginning of a products lifespan. Either way investors are a shower.

Apologies NL. I'm only after actually reading the article now. I can see it all now. I expect to see multiple versions of Switch. It makes sense. "I seen the future and it works."

One thing drives me mad: calling Nintendo consoles second consoles. With me my first console is always a Nintendo. The others are second consoles.

I bought a PS4 last week and I'm thinking of selling it already. Way to similar to the PS3. I'm bored with the PS3 dis years. I'm not seeing any difference with the PS4 except the controller is very good but where's the games? It's identical to PS3 except the graphics look a little nicer.

It might be interesting to someone who didn't actually experience the N64 back in the day. For me though, I lived the hype, I got the console on day one after queuing all night outside the Virgin Megastar and I loved it.

I'd say there is a high probability SFZ along with other Wii u games, will be ported to Switch.

We are alike in all the Nintendo games we own over multiple systems. I didn't see it listed in your games. I've never seen a game before to devide opinion like SFZ. I actually really like it. I wasn't trying to open an argument or anything. I just wondered if you'd played it. Good profile picture btw.

I'm not having a go. Did you actually ever play Starfox Zero? It's not on your list of games.

I wonder has Switch got more than a couple of secrets. Does it double up as an android tablet? It certainly could do.

I'm not a big fan of the dual screen of Wii u. That said I hated it at the beginning but it has kinda grown on me. Most people would say the best feature was the off screen play which Switch retains. So pretty clever Nintendo.

It is a part of Wii u personally which is pretty cool. Nintendo are always trying trying to innovate which is what makes them great.

I got a PS4 last week and I definitely like it but where's the innovation? It's just a souped up PS3.

That's the end of Super Mario Maker. I think after the feedback from certain players who got confused playing Starfox Zero it's probably not a surprise.

Id say the joy con grip has a touch panel. No Switch pro controller in the box is a big disappointment because that'll be an extra €60.

I like that it's not backwards compatible. That means Wii u games and Wii u consoles will be like gold dust in the future. Games like Paper Mario and Starfox will go up in price. I'd still never sell my copies.

It's not as confusing as Wii u was at the beginning of Wii u life. It'll be down to the games Nintendo make. It's the most standard console (abide a hybrid) Nintendo have made since GameCube.

That's gotta be good.

It looks like Nintendo might ditch the casuals but now they have to make games to suit both home and portable which is a compromise. The games will be different but we'll have more games.

The console is just a brick of hardware it's the games that make it so it should be great. Here's hoping for Wave race, F Zero, Stuntrace NX and a proper 3D Mario.

The review of the new 3D Mario game when it's released in March will reveal what Nintendo's plans are.

It looks like a gamers console. The name Switch is kind of snazzy and cool. Nintendo are going to be the new cool. This could be a good generation, it's defiantly a new generation at Nintendo since Iwata (RIP) passed away.
I hope we see the old Nintendo that made the greatest games of all time. They're have the talent.

Looks cool. Nintendo didn't show much software which probably is a good thing. It looks like a core gamers machine. I like it.

We will possibly hear the name of the console, presuming NX is a code name. It's pretty exciting actually. The type of Mario game Nintendo reveal should reveal the demographic they intend to target with NX.

If Nintendo didn't reveal it until launch it would be amazing. And I bet any money it would sell out on launch day. That would be the best. Imagine not knowing what it was until you got it home.

I cancelled my pre-order with Amazon for a Nes mini. I don't think I'd ever play it. I bought a PS4 Sunday so I have to try to scrape the money back somehow.

I don't want to get into a deep conversation with you. There is a much bigger picture with what happened to Nintendo with Wii and Wii u. They changed tactics and went after the casuals. I wasn't happy about it but look what happened when they went after core gamers with GameCube.

They are damned if they do and damned if they don't. The problem is gamers. It's a volatile group they are trying to please. Fifa will be number 1 for Christmas in the U.K. EA release the same regurgitated game every year but all some people here want to do is kick the ***** out of Nintendo for making a game people wanted for years.

Little boys think it's cool bashing Nintendo. It's boring. Enough already.

I don't think NX will have backwards compatibility either. If it uses carts it'll have no disc drive to save costs. Wii u games might be downloadable but to anyone who has physical copies they might get a bad deal. Don't sell your Wii u.

Personally I have one or two critics that I trust. The last place I go is Metacritic. I see far more innovation in Zero than in Waker. I think that's what people really don't like. People hate change.

I bet you any amount of money that in maybe 10 years or so (I know it's a long way away) Starfox Zero will get the acclaim it deserves, because the truth always wins in the end. It was the same with Zelda Wind Waker. When it was released the angry mob were furious with Nintendo for making a baby game. Today it's renowned for the classic that it is.
I seen you talking about the design of Zero to somebody else. I'm playing games for the last 25 years and I know very little about game design but you talk about it like you studied it and have a degree in it, you and others. Other people don't like the controls and the 2 screens. If it's not one thing it's another with them. I see a herd of sheep. Sad really.

I think Starfox Zero a great game. I can't understand anyone who has a problem with it. I don't want to understand them either. If they are not crying about Starfox, they are putting down Miyamoto or whinging that Nintendo haven't revealed the NX yet and they are not buying it because they've lost interest. 😱
That's it, Nintendo may let a load of staff go because they have upset little 'Johnny nobody' and the company will be screwed without his support.

The reason 3rd party developers steer clear of Nintendo systems is people buy Nintendo systems to play Nintendo games. As for Nintendo systems selling in small numbers. The Wii sold over 100 million consoles.

My Freesat box has all the catch up services on it. Consoles are for playing games.

I hope we see a mini SNES in the future. It would be such a good concept that it sounds too good to be true.

Edit: I'm only after seeing the bit about the games running @ 60hz. That was important to me. After playing SMB3 @60hz on, cough! emu!!! the 50hz pal VC version I have on my Wii felt like it was in slow motion by comparison. Nintendo also ruined the Super Mario all Stars disc they released for Wii in Europe. It's so sloooooow.

I seen the ps4 in Argos at that price today, but it was sold out. I wouldn't have minded one at that price.
