Re: Talking Point: Mario Kart Tour Is Certainly Dividing Opinion, But Why?

ss213

We just got Grid Autosport, so racing fans should be fine.
Most smatphone games are not videogames, they are Appgames. Those that are more video game like end up with console/pc versions, and the rest just rooten as microtransaction draining maxhines.

The thing is I dont think it damages nintendos image. Thoso who arent loyal fans are quieted down by being told that the real expwrience is on the switch, and that the app versions are just to drive people twoards the console version. And loyal fans wont really care much as long as they are periodically served with good switch games.
Do I think Nintendo is loosing something that made it unique?? Yes. Is it enough to make me worry about it? Not yet.

The thing is simple. We are loyal because are childhood has been filled with joy because of Nintendo. However, how would you feel regarding Nintendo if your childhood related to Nintendo was based on microtransactions??
Nintendo knows this issue and it knows that in order to have new generations of loyal fans it can not abuse them and must be accessible.
For know it is still keeping the balance, but app games as the first real contact point between kids and nintendo is an ever growing tendency, so be alert nintendo.

@impurekind his legacy will live on in the internet anyways. I don' t completely disagree with the point you wanna make by saying that "previous legit records" should be kept/restored. But you speak only what you think is right, which I agree with, however, the companies that hold the records have terms and conditions, and if one of those conditions states that cheating will result on erasing previous records, then we don"t have much to complain about.

That said, I have no idea if that condition exists.

Re: Koei Tecmo Must Pay Capcom More Than $1.3 Million After Patent Infringement Court Battle

ss213

@Darlinfan nope, english aint my first language. If it had motion controls I would still be paying less than what the wii version costed at launch. So I am not ever paying more, I am paying the price of an HD port of and old game, which is not a full price game. You are talking as if I was willing to pay 70 bucks for it.

There is no hd version of re4 with motion controls, and if one of those versions had it, it would be the superior version, so costing a bit more (without reaching a full price) would make sense.

But capcom is just charging you more because it is on a nintendo console and that is what gives me the right to complain.

I only play shotters with motion controls and you dont seem to care much about them, so I can kind of understand that you are unpleased with having to pay more for a version that adds motion controls which you arent going to use. But to those who love motion controls, we value when a developer adds them, and therefore we are willing to pay bit more if necessary because the time we will spend playing will increase in fun exponentially. It has nothing to do with being shafted by capcom.

@JamesJose7 there are companies that have at least some honor and arent only about the money... If nintendo only cared about the money it would have gone full movile with microtransactions...

Companies are run by people... And decent people have values that go further than the money...

One thing is making your company profitable and a very different thing is taking any opportunity you can to drain money from others however you can

Re: Random: We Really Hope The New Nintendo Switch Looks Like This

ss213

@cyberlocc well... MK8 is one of the top selling switch games and uses multiplayer on the same screen. The same with Smash. And now we got Marvel alliance.

People with friends do play on tabletop mode and do care about having games that allow multiplayer in the same screen. It is part if Nintendo's legacy.

What makes the Switch lite special?? It doesnt have 2 screens, or 3d, or dock mode.... It is just a Vita with a 720p screen.

Under that logik they could just sell a cheaper switch that only works on dock mode for people who wont play on handheld. Which would be a wii u without the gamepad... And that proved to be a failure.

Re: Random: We Really Hope The New Nintendo Switch Looks Like This

ss213

Focusing on portability should include tabletop (how else do you play multiplayer when not docked?).

The idea of a switch withiut joy-cons or tabletop mode makes it not a switch... Just a dockable tablet hanheld...

Many other handhels and tablets already have tv docking options... It wouldnt make sense to go in that direktion

Then again... The 2ds defied the purpose of the 3ds... So who knows...

Re: GungHo Online Entertainment Delays Ninjala Until Spring 2020

ss213

The triailer seems more like a wiiware game. The game needs polishing and gravity adjustments....

It may not be an Splatoon copy, but it looks like a Splatoon spin-off. They are oviously trying to capitalize on Splatoons vibes, which I am not against as long as the game does not feel like a [removed] wiiware game.

Re: Rumour: Nintendo Has Reportedly Axed Its Quality Of Life Department

ss213

This is sad. QoL was the beggining of full inmersion VR, aiming for a device that would synch to your brain vibrations (which are different whyle you sleep) to connect you to an Inmersive world.

The Wii was also presented more like a gym/sport machine than as a console, but it still focused on gaming. And QoL has been always gaming related, always.

It was named QoL because it would help people who had sleeping problems, the same way that the wii helped people with weight problems, but both of them were gaming related.

What you all think of as QoL can be done with simple fitbits or other devisces that alredy track your heatrbeat, pressue...

If you think Nintendo needed so many years to create fitbit.... Well... that's your choice...

And knowing what the real QoL was aiming at can make you understand why so much secressy and so little info of it was made available.

The idea however lost power because of the risk of people wanting to isolate themselves in the dream world, wich would be anti-Nintendo filosophy.

Re: Editorial: Pricing Blunders Have Distorted The Narrative Around Nintendo Switch

ss213

I totally disagree. Just let nintebdo be nintendo. The tru proble is us, people who do not work for the conpany but think that know what is better for nintendo and what should be their selling strategy. And you are getuing it totally wrong. What you express is the strategy that YOU want nintendo yo fallow.

I mean come on... 120 bucks for a limited edition zelda game?? That is just absurd, but people have bought it, and its already sold out. Therefore stop complaining about prices. As long as thete ate nintendo fanboys, nintendo will continue to exist. Nintendo will never teully have financial problems. If they ever feel the pressure of going bankrupt all thty have to do is releas etheir games in other sistems, and then they will became super rich again.

You keep o talki about how we qant nintendo to perform well financially, but that is bs. If you want nintendo to perfotm well financially then you should want nintendo to release their games o other platforms, because at the end that is what is financially better for nintendo.

But no, the swicth cost more than what you would like to pay an you blame nintendo for it. And you assume that because it is to much for you, then it qill be to much for most of the people and theredore your final conclusion is that the switch wont sell enough to get true third party support, making the switxh become the wii u 2.

But dude... sirously... Do you own a wii u?? Because the wii u has been an awesome console. Yeah... it might not have many games, but man, when I was a kid I did not have more than 20 games for any of my consoles. And having 20 games seemed more than enough. The replay value of the wii u games is breath taking.

I have played splatoon at least 1 hour per day since it came out and I still not bored of playing it. When I feel i nees something different I play MK8, and when i want something trully comoetitve and fun I play smash. Those 3 games alone would have been more than enough for me when I was a kid. Add zeldas, bayonetas, marios, mario maker, dk... and you actually have an awesome catalog. The only need for third party support is so that non diehard nintendo fans are willing to pay for the sistem...I mean... how many of you who bought the wii u will still buy the switch on day 1 even if you do not know for sure if it will end up having true third party support?? Probably most of you.

We will get splatoon and mk in the first months, aside from a zelda that looks like it will be mind breaking. Those 3 games alone arw more than enough for the first year.

Your problem is that you keep complaining about price... but good games last for a very long time, and playing games that are fun and last long means not having to waste money in new games. Those 3 games can give you fun until the end of the year and make you save money that you would use on other games.

So no. The fun you will have with the switch is not expensive, it is actually cheap. Ps4 and X-one might have many games and many third party support, but people who own them en up buying at least one new game per month because they get bored of all the other games they have. I still have not got bored of splatoon, smash, and mk. So sorry man, but the switch first year is amazing. I mean the only thibg missing are a new smash and a new metroid, and i am sure we will eventually get them.

So sorry man, but if paying 330 bucks for having the opportunity to play zelda, mk, splatoon and mario in the first year seems expensive to you, then you should ask yourself what is more worth your money. Never before has an awesome launch been so exiting and cheap.

And if the swith fails financially because it was 50 bucks above the "expected price" then it simply means that the market does not deserve such an awesome sistem (same as what hapoened with the wii u).

What really killed the wi u were not sales or third party support, it was nintendo by deciding to move on to their next sistem.

And the same will happen to the switch. If it is ever killed, it will be because nintendo has decided that they want to move to a new sistem, not because of sales.
