Re: Round Up: Everything Announced In The February 2021 Nintendo Direct

quigtendo

Excited about Outerwilds, Zelda and Stubbs. Intrigued by Splatoon, No More Heroes and Ninja Gaiden.. the rest are a bit meh for me. Don’t know enough about the franchises to have an interest. But 3-6 games isn’t a bad potential haul for a year. Plus the backlog, but previously announced games and future announcements.

I never got into Twilight Princess so would appreciate another chance at that. I never even owned Majoras Mask, so ditto for that. Skyward Sword, yes please! OoT I’ve played so many times, on 64 and on my GameCube Master Quest disc I can give or take that. I don’t care if they’re ports, these are dark times so any new releases are welcome.

Crash Bandicoot, Smash DLC, new animal crossing DLC for its 1 year anniversary, Monster Hunter Rise and Bravely Default extra footage. Maybe Pokemon Snap if we’re lucky. I really see them hyping anything too far in the future past BD2, Monster Hunter and Pokemon Snap, they don’t want people saving their money

Re: The Outer Worlds' First Expansion Comes To Nintendo Switch Next Week

quigtendo

@tourjeff I don’t have any other console to compare to, which means i didn’t have any other platform to play it on. It was one of the best, most engrossing games I’ve played in ages. I played docked and honestly I was so scared it was going to be a crap port but it was fine. And you can get the physical for £22 in the UK atm

Re: The Outer Worlds' First Expansion Comes To Nintendo Switch Next Week

The game is frequently so cheap that I can recommend picking it up. I paid full price at launch and wasn’t salty. The graphics weren’t the best (allegedly), but they were playable and the art style was good. The writing and world building is first rate, and they’ve built characters you actually care about. I haven’t played it since they’ve improved it with the patches so I am excited to go back ans replay with the DLC and the improvements

Re: Talking Point: So, What Are The Chances We'll See A 'New' Nintendo Switch In 2021?

quigtendo

Honestly, the Switch Pro is like Brexit or Covid-19. It’s inevitable, we have no idea how long it will take and no one can stop talking about it. We don’t need a Switch Pro right about now, we need some good games. Titles like Luigi’s Mansion show the graphical prowess of the switch. Nintendo have now sold 80million consoles. When will we get games designed for Switch and not underpowered ports. It isn’t the Wii, Switch is a gamers console, not a gimmicky toy.

Re: Hands On: We've Played Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, And Here's What We Think So Far

quigtendo

@OnlyItsMeReid agreed. I was put off by the Wii. I appreciated what Nintendo were doing but it felt gimmicky and put me off games until Switch lured be back in. If people don’t like what a company is selling that’s their business. If enough people don’t like it then the company might change. I’m sure Nintendo are crying into their pillows every night about their profit levels and record share prices 😂

Re: Hands On: We've Played Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury, And Here's What We Think So Far

Why are people so salty about Wii U ports, there are a lot of reasons people didn’t own a Wii U, (economic, time...). It’s not about some faltering loyalty to Nintendo. If you were truly ‘loyal’ you should be happy that some of these top games are getting a wider audience and not being stuck on a (relative) flop system. There are plenty of other games to play and if publishers outputs are a bit reduced, it may be pandemic related, rather than some sort of Nintendo laziness.

Re: EU Calls For Investigation Into Switch Joy-Con Drift Following More Than 25,000 Complaints

quigtendo

I used my faulty joy cons for ages as I hadn’t heard of drift. I then followed a you tube tutorial online that had me remove the rubber thumb grip on the top of the sticks. Honestly, it has so many views I assumed it was legit, all I did was make the stick even less usable as that grip wouldn’t go back on. I eventually got a Pro Controller and stopped playing handheld. Joycons also gave me pins and needles. Not the best.

Re: Poll: Which Will Be Your Second Console - PS5 Or Xbox Series X?

quigtendo

Paying for XBOX in installments with GamePass seems like excellent value for a second and current gen console next to the Switch. It'd be great to have access to Rare games again too. PS5 does have good exclusives though.. and I'm a sucker for FOMO. I bet in two years I'll still just be playing my Switch and low Res ports from higher powered systems.

Re: The Outer Worlds On Switch Has Been Updated To Version 1.2

quigtendo

I was almost put off buying this game by negative comments in forums and on here. I'm glad i kept my preorder as it's one of those most fun and engrossing games I've played in ages. I haven't owned a console since Wii and don't have any other current gen to compare to which seems to be an advantage in this respect. Why would anyone expect a current gen game to be perfectly optimized on a handheld system. I have similar feelings about Witcher. I only have a Switch, not everyone invests in multiple platforms and are just content to play as many games as possible.

Re: Review: Super Mario 3D All-Stars - Three Of Mario's Greatest Adventures Come To Switch

quigtendo

Well the tweaks and upscaled graphics sound better than expected. I haven't double or triple dipped SM64 or Sunshine so don't mind the simple port. Very excited for Galaxy which is new to me. Especially excited that I get to play it without the wiimote. I would have loved to have also played Galaxy 2 but I think it would have unbalanced the collection and there is already a lot of gaming hours on offer.
