@TheFrenchiestFry Well I didn’t play Witcher 1 & 2 but managed fine with 3. I think because I’d like to play 5S at some point so will try and get 5 on a different platform first. I’d rather get the most out of a game.
@SeantheDon29 I don’t think anyone is going to think it’s good value with that comparison. Luckily for Nintendo, 63 million people have a Switch but probably no way to play Skyward Sword. 😑
Excited about Outerwilds, Zelda and Stubbs. Intrigued by Splatoon, No More Heroes and Ninja Gaiden.. the rest are a bit meh for me. Don’t know enough about the franchises to have an interest. But 3-6 games isn’t a bad potential haul for a year. Plus the backlog, but previously announced games and future announcements.
@GH7Cloud that is exactly how I felt about Splstoon 2. I got a switch quite late and then burnt out with BOTW, then Odyssey.. not even realising Splatoon was a thing. Excited to get on the hype at the beginning
I feel like they’re scraping the barrel a bit with Smash characters when there must be so many interesting and iconic franchises not included. Tomb Raider, Crash, Astral Chain (now Nintendo own the IP), final fantasy thats not VII, Travis from NMH, more Pokemon, paper Mario, Geralt, Resident Evil..
I’ve been holding off on this because I felt like it was quite an expensive indie game for an eshop purchase. But with a physical release, I can see if the hype was worth it
I feel like they had to acknowledge BOTW 2, even with no update, as the speculation is rife. Can’t believe they didn’t acknowledge Metroid. I expect More on BOTW2 and other Zelda ports after the release of Skyward Sword, gearing up for October for more ports (a la 3D All Stars) with perhaps BOTW2 in March 22
The fact it’s a mobile game and free to play doesn’t thrill me.. but it might be okay. Not excited, but will see what reviews and Gameplay footage are like closer to the time
Aside from new games, this was my top choice for a port. Hadn’t played before because sold my Wii long before it came out and hated the Wii mote controls. It’s a new game for me so don’t mind paying full price for it. Although could have don’t with OoT/MM and WW/TP doible packs..
Sick of expansion passes coming out for soon after launch, clearly planned all along. It’s like a encore at a gig that you know is coming. Except they charge you to hear the biggest hit they’ve been saving. 😑😂
I never got into Twilight Princess so would appreciate another chance at that. I never even owned Majoras Mask, so ditto for that. Skyward Sword, yes please! OoT I’ve played so many times, on 64 and on my GameCube Master Quest disc I can give or take that. I don’t care if they’re ports, these are dark times so any new releases are welcome.
Crash Bandicoot, Smash DLC, new animal crossing DLC for its 1 year anniversary, Monster Hunter Rise and Bravely Default extra footage. Maybe Pokemon Snap if we’re lucky. I really see them hyping anything too far in the future past BD2, Monster Hunter and Pokemon Snap, they don’t want people saving their money
@BradT I see you make an impassioned point.. but if I chose to boycott every single company with some dodgy practice I’d probably end up playing chequers I’d made from pebbles in a wooden hut, living off berries and lichen. Let’s not forget Nintendo’s sometimes anti consumer behaviour.
Such a shame for a big European studio. As if the Cyberpunk backlash hasn’t hit them badly enough. I was looking forward to playing it in a few years when I catch up to current gen, or even a Witcher 4. I worry this could SINK them.
I’m sure Nintendo will plough all their success and profits into new IPs and instalments of existing franchises. I’m also sure they’ll release Joy-con 2.0.
My mum through out of all my SNES and 64 boxes and kept the cartridges to save space, she was planning on giving them away. I sold all my old unboxed retro games, Wii and GameCube era earlier this year and it paid to repair my roof. Prime adulting 😭😂
@tourjeff I don’t have any other console to compare to, which means i didn’t have any other platform to play it on. It was one of the best, most engrossing games I’ve played in ages. I played docked and honestly I was so scared it was going to be a crap port but it was fine. And you can get the physical for £22 in the UK atm
The game is frequently so cheap that I can recommend picking it up. I paid full price at launch and wasn’t salty. The graphics weren’t the best (allegedly), but they were playable and the art style was good. The writing and world building is first rate, and they’ve built characters you actually care about. I haven’t played it since they’ve improved it with the patches so I am excited to go back ans replay with the DLC and the improvements
Honestly, the Switch Pro is like Brexit or Covid-19. It’s inevitable, we have no idea how long it will take and no one can stop talking about it. We don’t need a Switch Pro right about now, we need some good games. Titles like Luigi’s Mansion show the graphical prowess of the switch. Nintendo have now sold 80million consoles. When will we get games designed for Switch and not underpowered ports. It isn’t the Wii, Switch is a gamers console, not a gimmicky toy.
I still find myself replaying Super Mario Sunshine, I wanted to beat them in order.. and never play Galaxy so trying to rush through. Maybe Ring Fit if I’m feeling energetic..
@OnlyItsMeReid agreed. I was put off by the Wii. I appreciated what Nintendo were doing but it felt gimmicky and put me off games until Switch lured be back in. If people don’t like what a company is selling that’s their business. If enough people don’t like it then the company might change. I’m sure Nintendo are crying into their pillows every night about their profit levels and record share prices 😂
Omg seeing people talk about GTA V on here fills me with so much hope. I’d even take Vice City and San Andreas (on the same cart please). I had Vice City on PS2. Bought the console just for it, didn’t have a memory card so just drove around enjoying myself until I traded the PS2 in for a stack of 2ndhand game cube games and a cheap DVD player. The gold ole days
I’ve seen the complete edition on sale in the UK for £30-35 loads of times. I ended up picking it up physical for £35, hesitant about the port quality, but it has been one of the most engrossing games I’ve played (once I got used to the mechanics of the world). Such good value and a great port if you don’t have another system to buy it in cheaper.
But on that note, I’m so excited to play these games for the first time. Not getting on launch as backlog too big and want to get a second and third pro controller (or third party option) for local co-op.
Why are people so salty about Wii U ports, there are a lot of reasons people didn’t own a Wii U, (economic, time...). It’s not about some faltering loyalty to Nintendo. If you were truly ‘loyal’ you should be happy that some of these top games are getting a wider audience and not being stuck on a (relative) flop system. There are plenty of other games to play and if publishers outputs are a bit reduced, it may be pandemic related, rather than some sort of Nintendo laziness.
I used my faulty joy cons for ages as I hadn’t heard of drift. I then followed a you tube tutorial online that had me remove the rubber thumb grip on the top of the sticks. Honestly, it has so many views I assumed it was legit, all I did was make the stick even less usable as that grip wouldn’t go back on. I eventually got a Pro Controller and stopped playing handheld. Joycons also gave me pins and needles. Not the best.
I have probably most enjoyed playing through The Outerworlds this year, despite the switch not being the ideal way to play. Paper Mario was also thoroughly enjoyable but you really can’t deny that 2020 was the year of Animal Crossing. It was one of the most zeitgeist dominating games since Pokemon Go.
Paying for XBOX in installments with GamePass seems like excellent value for a second and current gen console next to the Switch. It'd be great to have access to Rare games again too. PS5 does have good exclusives though.. and I'm a sucker for FOMO. I bet in two years I'll still just be playing my Switch and low Res ports from higher powered systems.
Oh be still my beating heart. Please bring back Silicon Valley. even a Ropey port.. having sold all my 64 games and console earlier in the year, I'd love some of the old classics to be playable in current hardware. And Body Harvest too, why not.
I was almost put off buying this game by negative comments in forums and on here. I'm glad i kept my preorder as it's one of those most fun and engrossing games I've played in ages. I haven't owned a console since Wii and don't have any other current gen to compare to which seems to be an advantage in this respect. Why would anyone expect a current gen game to be perfectly optimized on a handheld system. I have similar feelings about Witcher. I only have a Switch, not everyone invests in multiple platforms and are just content to play as many games as possible.
Well the tweaks and upscaled graphics sound better than expected. I haven't double or triple dipped SM64 or Sunshine so don't mind the simple port. Very excited for Galaxy which is new to me. Especially excited that I get to play it without the wiimote. I would have loved to have also played Galaxy 2 but I think it would have unbalanced the collection and there is already a lot of gaming hours on offer.
I immediately shrugged this off. Never really got on with genre back in the day.. but to their credit they've really tried to recreate the world of Breath of the Wild in this.. gone from an absolute no, to a firm maybe

I was quite excited for this but I’m concerned I won’t have a clue what’s going in since I’ve never played a Persona game...
Re: The Outer Worlds' Second Expansion "Murder on Eridanos" Confirmed For Switch
I’d hope it was confirmed since they were already selling a pass with both expansions on Switch.

Oh I thought this game looked really fun. A bit sad that’s it a 2005 port as I thought it might be a new IP and new game.. but if the price is right.
