The Outer Worlds has slowly been making its way to Switch. Launched nearly a year after rival platforms, its first DLC expansion, Peril of Gorgon, arrived in a similarly timely fashion two weeks ago. Now we know that the second expansion, Murder on Eridanos, is also coming to Switch.
We don't know much about Murder on Eridanos just yet, since it's not currently released on other platforms. Due to launch in 2021, a solid release date for the Switch version remains unconfirmed and at this time, all we have is a brief overview, which advises:
The Outer Worlds: Murder on Eridanos will launch in 2021. Halcyon Helen’s final (and finest!) adventure.
It's not available for pre-order but an eShop listing has gone live, priced at £11.99 / $14.99 separately or £19.99 / $24.99 for the expansion pass. The latter includes the Peril of Gorgon expansion, which we gave 8/10 stars to recently.
If you're interested in The Outer Worlds, it's currently 50% off as part of Nintendo's "Digital Deals" sales until the 28th, so why not take a look.
Will you be buying Murder on Eridanos? Happy to see this expansion also arrive on Switch? Share your thoughts in the comments.

@jump I think that remains a key item of debate. It HAS seen a few patches and updates. I played the whole thing after release and it was a hot mess compared to the PC version but I still found it very playable.
I replayed about half after the last major patch (the one before the expansion) and many things were improved - graphics quality and consistency, pop in, crispness of textures, load times, performance in general ... and yet it is definitely still not up to par with the PC release.
Ultimately the answer is “it depends” - if you have spent the years playing rough and under-polished PC games, you will not have an issue ... but if you are more used to polished console games, this one is still a bit rough. But still a good game.
@jump
I've finished Outer World on Switch almost entirely in handheld mode right after release. Recently bought Peril of Gorgon expansion and already started a new game to do it again. It definitely feels smoother, but I can't say much about visuals, because I don't remember exactly how it looked like before and never saw it on PC or other consoles to compare with.
@jump yes but still some framerate problems and looks terrible at some times
@jump I just started playing it on Switch. It looks pretty bad in handheld, but docked it's decent. I mean, sometimes it looks like a Gamecube game, but more open and with better looking faces on NPC's. Very much playable, but not as beautiful as on PC. It's a fun space RPG with great writing, so if you're interested and don't have other platforms to play it on, it's definitely recommended.
Game must be selling well. I hope so.
I’d hope it was confirmed since they were already selling a pass with both expansions on Switch.
Purchased this game about a week ago after a few other users here gave me a positive feedback about it.
The only thing I can say is : wow.
This game is really really fun to play. There is so much to do and the dialogues are well written. I'm glad I follow the suggestions and got it.
Better yet, paid only 17€ for it on Amazon. Real bargain.
As soon as I finish the main game I'd be willing to get the Dlcs too. Can't get enough of this game.
@jump couldn't agree more with the others above.
If you really care about graphics, then, it will probably be the best console to play it.
However, if you plan to play in handheld or are not so bothered about graphics, then, you can get it on the Switch.
It perfectly playable. Personally I didn't have any issues with it.
Nice, Im waiting with replaying this one until the second DLC, so I can play it all at once.
@jump
Still looks super muddy. Frame rate is mostly OK, and at least they added ambient occlusion, so the worlds doesn't look as flat anymore as it did at launch.
I’m glad they’re supporting the Switch. It must not have been easy to port this game to a tablet and I would not have played this game if not for this version. Enjoying Gorgon expansion so far and have already purchased the next one.
