Re: Pac-Man Turns 40 Next Year And Bandai Namco Plans To Celebrate In Style

pblive

Could really do with a decent collection of Pac Man games to celebrate. Was disappointed that the Namco pack didn't have more than just the original. Pac-land, Pac-mania and all the other older and newer games could easily make up a full compilation with cartoons etc and artwork included. They've already made a collection on Steam and previous gen consoles.

Re: Review: Let's Sing 2020 - Uplifting Karaoke Goodness On Your Switch

pblive

The reason that 'The Show Must Go On' is on the track listing is because the past few games already had other big Queen songs and the song packs contain the other usual ones.

The way Let's Sing games work is that they allow you to use the song packs from previous games by showing the current DLC version as purchased when you've bought the same pack for the last game (though the 2020 version is still waiting for them to do this). They usually add a new pack or two as well and have a song pass that contains them all for a lower price.

Re: Australian Rating Could Mean We're Getting GTA III On Switch

pblive

It wouldn't be surprising, this, Vice City and GTA San Andreas have all been ported to Android and iOS so it wouldn't be difficult. In fact they looked better on mobile than the ports to last gen consoles.

Hopefully they bundle the three together and provide online (I know, unlikely, but I can hope!)

Re: Poll: Nintendo Switch Lite Is Out Today, Are You Getting One?

pblive

I tried it out yesterday, it fits better in my hands, the texture is nice, the screen is still clear, though smaller and it feels like it would be more comfy in long sessions.

But am I prepared to deal with all the issues of keep ensuring my data is saved before jumping back to the TV? No. Plus I bought the original Switch for the very reason it was portable.

Of course, when Animal Crossing comes along and they do a special edition Switch Lite I may throw all that out the window

Re: Free-To-Download Racer Asphalt 9: Legends Locks In October Release Date

pblive

@PhilKenSebben Agreed, the older Asphalts, including the Vita one, were more like proper racers. Asphalt: Injection was the fifth game if I remember rightly. From about 6 onwards they started to change things up and make them less about racing in the old fashioned sense and more about the spectacle and stunts, gradually taking away some control.

The current one on mobile initially takes away pretty much all control bar a swipe left and right for turns and tricks (a sort of tinder of the racing world?!) but after the first track you can actually change the settings to choose manual drive and make it more like a proper racer, I think a lot of people don't realise this.

Re: Review: Go Vacation (Switch)

I've had this a few years now and keep coming back to it. It's basically a mini-game collection but with the added bonus of a free roaming resort with loads to do in it.

Yes, it's pretty cutsy and may put some off, but honestly, I'm still playing this after trading in other carts. If it wasn't for space on my 400GB card, I'd be tempted to get it digital instead just so I didn't have to keep finding the cart!

Re: Feature: Where Does Nintendo Switch Fit In The PS5 And Xbox Project Scarlett Next-Gen War?

pblive

It's been proven time and time again; people go where the games are. Yes, some are dazzled by the promise of shiny graphics but you can see that Sony still has some sway by keeping up their exclusives and the Switch is even more a case -in-point for games over hardware power.

Making sure that they court the indies so PC owners get portable versions of their beloved indie games (some, hopefully, exclusive console releases to Switch), encourage unique third party AA and AAA games and then, of course, keep up their own great output with titles like Metroid, a new Zelda and a new Mario, among others, should keep people flocking to the console.

Re: Video: Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz HD Gets Its First Gameplay Trailer

pblive

@Bunkerneath the first two are harder and Banana Blitz is easily sold to those new to the series as it’s the most newbie friendly. Still a challenge but the other 2 are rock hard. Obviously, it’s probably the easier to port as well.

Hopefully if it sells well they might be encouraged to port the first 2 from GameCube but until then I have the originals still.

Re: Nintendo Switch Lite Is Getting A Special Pokémon Sword And Shield Edition

pblive

This is technically a Switch because it can switch between desktop and handheld, just not TV, hence the lite. You can play this on a table with a Switch Pro controller or Joycons. But generally it’s a second console for family members or anyone wanting to have a smaller version for their pocket. I’m actually tempted by this Pokemon version.
