I'm sorry, but Nintendo are only doing well at the moment because they make incredible games and focus on hardware to play the games on with unique selling points. There's really no excuse.
@YagaMaki You can actually get these cheaper by getting the credit on CDKeys at the moment during the Summer Sale first then using the credit to get the vouchers.
2 x £30 (£60) vouchers are £53.98, so using those towards an £84 voucher will give you two £50 games for £77.98
@jarvismp Gear club 2 has the opposite problem in handling, the cars feel a bit like bricks while in this game they feel like they're filled with helium.
The only other thing I didn't like about Gear Club 2 was the looooong loading times, they really got on my nerves, which was a pain as aside from that it's a solid racer.
Rise is good, though, I just wished they'd try and make the cars a little more weighty.
I see this primarily for those who have a Switch already in the family and have kids that want their own on top of that. Or for those who want a slightly more rugged one for taking around with them, though that takes the main Switch’s selling point away I guess.
@zool If they went down the route of a handheld that supported 3DS games it would be seen as just backward compatibility. Nintendo are letting the 3DS die slowly and with dignity because they're still getting some sales from it (because of price drops and affordability for younger players). I don't think they'd bother, though, for the same reasons (they risk lower 3DS sales if they emulate it on a Switch)
Better to make a smaller Switch to replace the 3DS completely and let people share games easier between the big console and the smaller one.
All those people saying 'no, I don't want one' - you're not the intended audience. Not sure how this world became so egocentric.
A portable, smaller Switch would be seen as a replacement for 3DS which is getting fewer and fewer releases now. It would save Nintendo having to design for several platforms and would, hopefully, be cheaper to provide a lower entry point for younger and more casual gamers. Any issue with non removable joycons can easily be overcome with a spare set of joycons and the usual software support for other wireless controllers like the Pro controller and Pokeball Plus.
This doesn't in any way stop them also providing a new faster Switch 2 in a year's time if they feel they need to compete with PS5 and Xbox Two (or whatever it's going to be called).
@TAndvig There are as many historical documents and references from non-religious sources of the time (including those complaining about him) as there are for other historical figures.
@Roarsome I'd imagine they'd be there later on today's refresh if they are going to do the sale in the UK. However, you can make a separate US account and grab some cheap credit from various places. Sometimes works out cheaper than the UK store.
It's pretty simple; Nintendo don't make much money (if anything) on Hardware sales, most of their money comes from software sales. Putting Netflix on the Switch might encourage more people to buy it (though that's debatable, as it's on pretty much everything else anyway) but it may also take away from gaming time which potentially means less games bought and less profit for Nintendo.
@SmaggTheSmug It's pretty well known that it didn't get the numbers because of a silly hate campaign. The film was pretty good and didn't deserve moaning fanboys to boycott it.
@Curlybobs I loved Excite Truck on Wii, still have it. A new version with more levels would be fantastic. I always stuck on a custom soundtrack with that game, sticking Butterflies and Hurricanes on in the background made it feel epic.
It's actually N-Fusion Interactive who developed the game, Chillingo just published it on mobile and N-Fusion are going solo for their Switch release.
The game was £2.99 for the base game with a few missions and with IAP for more missions and paint schemes to unlock, so for £15 or so we're getting the complete game for less than the IAP cost.
Draw distance was the main issue I had in the iOS game and it seems to be slightly improved here, though the mini map is still a little too mini for my liking.
Sadly Pac Man Championship and Rabbids aren’t on sale in the UK site and I can’t change region to buy them as I have credit that will disappear if I do.

...oh, wait....
Re: Here Are The Top Ten Best-Selling Nintendo Switch Games As Of June 2019
Yey! I've got all but 2 of them. Was tempted by Mario Party in the sale but didn't get it and had 12 Switch but sold it
Re: Sorry Nintendo, But The 3DS Really Is Dead Now
It's also a slow few months generally for hardware, so not exactly a good time to take a snapshot of figures

Re: Review: Rise: Race The Future - Imagine Anti-Gravity Ridge Racer, And You're Close
Oh, and Rise is rock hard in anything but the first two difficulty settings, so if you're up for a challenge it's a good option.

@Claytonbob It's as if the gods are meddling with it. Damn Zeus.
Re: Review: Fight Of Gods - A Comically Bad Crossover That Nobody Asked For
This is so bad that it couldn't possibly offend me as much as it makes me laugh.
Re: Review: Fight Of Gods - A Comically Bad Crossover That Nobody Asked For
@retrofuturism Actually the consensus is that he did exist. Whether he did all the other things claimed is what tends to divide people.
Re: Reminder: The Wii Shop Channel Closes This Month, Here's What That Means For You
Don't worry, they'll all appear on the Switch as 'remasters' at some point, anyway. For double the price.
Re: Talking Point: Which SNES Games Do You Want To See On Nintendo Switch Online?
Uniracers (Unirally in the UK). It was an excellent original multiplayer racer.
Re: Review: Everspace - Stellar Edition - An Entertaining Roguelike Which Fuses FTL With Rogue Squadron
Worth it because it also has all the extra DLC content, another 10 hours, from the expansion included
Re: Review: SEGA Mega Drive Classics - A Welcome Stroll Down Memory Lane
I really want Midway classics on Switch now. Oh, and Taito

Re: Out Run Is The Next Sega AGES Title Racing Onto The Switch eShop
@steve_1978 I believe they lost the Ferrari licence so had to make changes.
Re: Out Run Is The Next Sega AGES Title Racing Onto The Switch eShop
Been waiting for Outrun, such a classic. As a bonus, we also get the excellent Horizon Chase Turbo on the eShop, too. A sort of spiritual sequel.
Re: Review: Road Redemption - A Rough But Riveting Road Rash Revival
@scully1888 fair enough, just seemed odd
Re: Review: Road Redemption - A Rough But Riveting Road Rash Revival
So..turns into a slideshow at some points but still got an 8? hm.
Re: Saboteur! Brings 8-Bit Retro Ninja Action To The Switch eShop Next Week
Love the idea of having different filters for the different systems, so you can get it to look like C64, Spectrum or CPC.
Now if only someone would do the Last Ninja games...

Re: ACA Neo Geo Game Sale Happening On The Switch eShop Right Now
Samurai Shodown and Metal Slug are the best choices here. Fatal Fury 2 and KOF 94 are showing their age more but are still good.
The rest are so so bordering on bad.
Re: Planet Alpha Is Team17's 100th Game Release, And It's Out Today On Switch
@gcunit There are quite a few platform puzzles, dragging items, changing night and day, stealth to avoid robots. It's more platformer than runner.
Re: Review: VSR: Void Space Racing (Switch eShop)
@SmaggTheSmug Most likely a few thousand butt hurt male Star Wars fans.
Re: Review: VSR: Void Space Racing (Switch eShop)
@SmaggTheSmug Now who's coming up with conspiricy theories?
Re: Review: VSR: Void Space Racing (Switch eShop)
@SmaggTheSmug hm, 91% Rotten Tomatoes says otherwise. 71% for Solo as well, though I personally would have rated it higher.

Came here for comments about the game.
Left feeling sad about stuck-in-the-mud Star Wars fanboys who can't move on and enjoy the new films.

It’s designed to be a relaxing experience that you go back to whenever you want to unwind without thinking too much. In that respect it works well.
