Obviously, I'm in the minority, but I love the c-stick. It takes a bit of getting used to, but it's fantastic in Monster Hunter 4 (I even use bow) and it's great in Xenoblade.

Maybe it's just that most people think it's like a regular analog stick while it's totally different and responds very differently.

I'm EXTREMELY tired of these Amiibos. It's like when Nintendo talked about "transformation" or whatever, they were referring to becoming a goddamn toy company.

I literally felt embarrassed for Nintendo as I watched their conference.

Nothing but disappointing announcements and games we already know about. And this is coming from a long-time hardcore Nintendo fan.

@Operative I think they have (very subtly) been suggesting that since most of the prizes on Club Nintendo as of recent have been digital. What you've said is a safe bet, unfortunately. Not to mention it'll save them a bunch of money in the long run.

@NodesforNoids Just updating since my last comment- I downloaded the game due to a friend of mine convincing me and MAN is it fun so far. Super addicting. Maybe the improvements from previous entries just create a more cohesive and accessible experience.

Highly recommend giving it a whirl!

@NodesforNoids Totally feel the same way. I already own the Circle Pad Pro and everything, but my experience with the 3rd game confounds me. How do people enjoy this damn game so much? I just don't get it!

Holy pooponit! Thanks so much for this reminder. I've had my Wii U since launch year and had no idea about this. I just downloaded Toad's Treasure Tracker for free because of this! AWESOME.

Thank god. If they were to show off new hardware it would either be a 3DS 2 (?) or something that would replace the Wii U.

The Wii is only capable of outputting a maximum of 480p (with component cables) My PC, on the other hand, can emulate the same games but it's powerful enough to render them in 1080p. It's called the "Dolphin emulator" You should check out some YouTube videos of your favorite Wii/ GameCube games running on Dolphin. They look marvelous. Sometimes about as good as my Wii U depending on the game.

@rumple88 I've got a gaming PC that was over $1200 and a Wii U and a PS3. Trust me- I can buy games. I just prefer to play them in HD than in SD. I understand that not everyone can afford all these things though. And that's okay.

For Wii U, I personally would've chosen Pikmin 3. Loved thAt game so much. Though Mario 3D World deserves it more I guess.

@Blastoise-san I agree with that decision if that's the case. I know some people aren't into 3D, but the system is called 3DS for Christ's sake. I would've LOVED the entire game to be in 3D considering how gorgeous the graphics are. I feel it's complete laziness to NOT make it 3D.

Am I the only one who wanted the game to be "visually enhanced?" Nothing major but maybe some subtle improvements to the graphics and maybe making it support widescreen.

Also, there BETTER be a sequel to this coming for Wii U. All this hype was for nothing if there's no sequel coming. Nintendo caused a huge uproar but only the diehard Nintendo fans are even aware of it. This game needs a 3D, open-world sequel!

@Ralizah I've got to say. If you're debating between a Vita and a Wii U, the answer is pretty apparent. I owned a Vita for less than 2 months. Got it off Craigslist pretty inexpensively.

It's EXTREMELY powerful, but the problem is, the games aren't fun... I mean, it's essentially a portable version of a PS3 and that sounds much more baddonkey than it is in practice. The Wii U is going to have some exceptional games coming to it.

I STRONGLY recommend the Wii U. Hell, I'd recommend the Wii U over a Vita even now, and the Wii U only has like 3 good games. (The Vita is much worse off now than the PSP was last generation and that will undoubtedly keep developers from going crazy over it)

I imagine you've already got a 3DS? If not a 3DS XL is probably the best investment of any of the consoles at the moment in my opinion.

(And just to make things clear, I've owned a PS3 and PS Vita, and currently own a custom PC, a Wii U, and a 3DS XL- so I'm not a Nintendo purist by any means. Just givin my honest opinion. Which is essentially DO NOT GET A VITA)

I can't comprehend how "analysts" are blind to the positions the "big three" are in and how Nintendo is obviously at an advantage from a business perspective.

Sony and Microsoft will spend E3 trying to explain why the PS4 and Xbox One are even worth purchasing. They'll need to explain what makes them so different from their predecessors and most importantly, they'll need to convince people that they're sucha significant graphical upgrade that people should purchase them. This is going to be difficult. The typical person doesn't give a damn about tech specs. THEY WANT GAMES.

Which brings me to Nintendo:

The Wii U is already out and available. Thus far, it's been a slow and rocky start for the console. Only a few exclusive games are available for it and this year has seen an almost complete lack of releases. BUT, come their Nintendo Direct conference, Nintendo isn't going to discuss Ghz or Gigabytes or anti-aliasing. Nintendo is finally going to be on the offensive. They're going to show off AMAZING GAMES. And that's what sells systems. The lack of games so far has been pretty rubbish for Wii owners like myself. But it's what Nintendo had to do.

They've set themselves up for the holidays. Sony and Microsoft will launch their systems and have very few games to accompany them, while Nintendo will unleash the plethora of games they've been concealing. It doesn't take an analyst to see who's got the upper hand:

The console that is least expensive and will have a lot of great games to play come winter. The Wii U will be like the Wii was this generation- the less powerful, but less expensive system that outsells it's competition. But this time, the graphics will be stunning.

Forgive my rant, but I get tired of people claiming that Nintendo's in trouble or going the way of Sega. Every single console launch has few games to go along with it.

WindWaker is my favorite Zelda game. To those people complaining about how it's not "cel-shaded," (I don't think these people exist) you really need to drop it. I've played windwaker in 1080p with the Dolphin emulator, and while pretty, what Nintendo has done here is reworked everything. They could have simply upscaled the game to HD and everyone would have been happy. Instead, we're getting an honest reworked graphics engine that looks stunning. I think the art style is true to the original while surpassing it visually.

WindWaker HD or "U" will be my favorite Zelda game.

@edcomics Totally agree with you. Nintendo is perhaps the best game developer out there nowadays- always truly innovating. But they sabotage their own credibility when they give presentation like the one yesterday.

They should have Reggie Fils-Aime do the presentation instead and in front of an audience. Basically imitating what Apple does. Perhaps they'd be taken more seriously.

Hearing Iwata go on in unbearable english was tough, even when he was announcing a remake of my favorite game of all time. I guess none of them understand how judgmental Americans are.

If this game is morally wrong, then what does that say about every single other game where you're killing PEOPLE?

Is anyone else concerned that this console will be extremely expensive? "More powerful than both the PS3 and 360," and having a controller with a touch screen? Also, would this controller be replacing the Wii-remote or be another alternative? I don't think Nintendo needs more controllers at this point. Especially one that would be unnecessarily costly. But, I digress. We've not even seen what they're really working on, but mere speculation.

I would prefer a new 2D Zelda game than another remake. By 2D, I mean "non-polygonal," yet still utilizing the 3DS' 3D capability.

Nintendo has historically made a profit on their consoles. Every one of them. Why the hell would they include a huge touchscreen (which in itself is an unnecessary addition) when all that would do is significantly increase the price while adding little to the overall gaming experience. Some of these rumors seem plausible, but the 6.2 inch screen bit is outrageous.

On the other side, 3DTV support would be legit

I hope it not only has 1080p, but support for 3D TV's. As a matter of fact, if that's all it had that the Wii doesn't, I'd probably be content

I would kill for a 3DS SSB to be made with pixel art. Would look soooo good.

It will be launched November 21(ish) similar to the original DS. As someone said earlier, how stupid would it be to release a console capable of being the "it" console for the holidays after the holidays? I'm guessing the price will either be $199 or $249 though the latter is really pushing it.

When I first saw screenshots of this, I thought it was a Pokemon Snap 2. I was sorely disappointed.
