Re: Feature: Breaking Down the My Nintendo Loyalty Economy, Again

maneauleau

That 6 months limit sucks. When you buy physical games they are cheaper than downloads and you can resale them trade them without limit of time.
I understand they might do rewards only for digital as an incentive versus physical but then they must get rid of that atrocious 6 months limit.

"Another good advancement in the value stakes is being able to use previous year's portals. Unlike Trap Team or Swap Force, Superchargers works with any of the previous Portals...It's good to see Activision honouring the time and money spent on previous iterations of the game"
Does that mean we can use the traps in this version?

Re: Rumour: Nintendo NX Won't Be As Powerful As PlayStation 4

maneauleau

Well if NX is a handheld then yes it will be less powerful than a PS4.
If it's a console then it doesn't matter really so long they nailed down the services this time. Nintendo doesn't really need to beef up its console specs wise. It just need to beef up its services: Better VC, proper accounts, cross buy, cross save, cloud saving, better friend features, internal voice chat, no region lock, eShop accessible from the web for everyone etc.

Re: Editorial: Nintendo's Problems With Trends and Modern Media Continue to Damage Its Image

maneauleau

This article make it sounds like Nintendo games won't be on Youtube anymore. People don't go on Youtube to see Mr X streaming this game. And when they do then they don't really care about that game they just care about Mr X. And Mr X has never really been streaming Nintendo games beforehand so...

In any case people go on Youtube to check the game out so it does not matter who plays it. There will still be many Youtube videos with Nintendo games from Nintendo channel, from Treehouse, from game sites, from enthusiast not caring for money, from enthusiast caring for money etc...

I am not saying theirs ways are the best but I don't think their games are really suffering from this.

Re: Talking Point: What's Next For amiibo?

maneauleau

Nintendo definitely need to make amiibo appealing to kids if they want to succeed. And so far this implementation is not appealing to kids. Nintendo won't be successful with amiibo if they only rely on Nintendo fans. These sold out reports are only indication of limited supply and eager fans. The kids/parents that are buying the amiibo now are going to be disappointed when realising that the fun isn't there and won't be coming back for more. I hope we see a glimpse of something in a direct in January.

@RoomB31 They also need to have the game in shops for the kids. Not all the parents like to create a NNID and go to an eShop etc. Maybe they could sell the game for "free" but with 2 or 3 amiibo for 30 or 40 dollars.
