This movie is the antithesis of the Mario Galaxy movie in every single way, and I absolutely love it. I’m not even a street fighter fan but I can’t wait for this movie.
So many franchise movies like this could easily be made by AI in the future. A neat visual representation of the source material that appeals to what fans want to see. AI YouTube videos are already making a killing doing that with just rough concepts. But you know what AI could never ever make? The 1993 Mario movie. Not in a million years could AI, or any modern studio for that fact, ever dream up of that interpretation of Mario. As we begin to appreciate human creativity with all its flaws, I wonder if we will start appreciating disasters like the 1993 Mario movie. AI will soon bring us cookie cutter movies of all our favorite franchises imagined exactly how fans always dreamed, and I think we may get bored of it - no matter how cool it would be to see a live action Samus fight Ridley on screen. And I think at that point we might abandon franchise based movies or at least accept creative interpretations a bit more openly. Ugly Sonic, there might be a future for you yet.
I really didn’t like this game. But I love Donkey Kong and I’m glad so many people liked It. I don’t need to like every game and I’m glad DK is getting so much of the spotlight. I’ll say that the twist at the end was pretty cool. But I hope this team works on another Odyssey/3D Mario next and maybe we can get another DK Returns out of Retro
I would’ve thought Mina the Hollower and the new Dead Cells Castlevania would’ve been in the last Direct but instead they skipped it for Sony’s Sate of Play. I feel like that’s a shift for indie developers. In the early switch days they’d give Nintendo Directs priority, especially Yacht Club. For a while Nintendo had become the most indie friendly platform, but I’m getting the feeling like that’s changed. I hope this direct proves different.
Sega bought Rovio for $775 Million…..IN 2023!?!? By 2023 the fad that was Angry Birds had already come and was long long gone. This is like when Bart & Milhouse ran the comic shop and Milhouse put all their money into comics from LensCrafters. Who on earth could have thought this was a good idea??
I was skeptical when Ninja Gaiden Ragebound was announced, the style seemed off. But it was from the studio that made Blasphemous - a great indie dev trusted by a big studio with a beloved IP. And it turned out to be my favorite game of 2025. The style here also seems to be a little off, but it’s from the studio that made Dead Cells. I’m pretty hopeful this will be a pleasant surprise like Ragebound.
I’m interested in stuff from Indie Developers. Maybe more of Mina the Hollower and a release date. It might be too soon but I’m excited to see what Sabotage Studios is doing after wrapping up Sea of Stars.
Goof Troop was maybe the funnest time I had with a co op game on the SNES. It’s the Split Fiction of SNES. I’ve never played it solo cause it’s too much fun experiencing everything in co op for the first time.
Make it a zombies focused game. I don’t think straight up call of duty appeals to Nintendos audience. But zombies might. Resident Evil has always done well on Nintendo consoles. Wii U owners loved Zombi U. Nintendo audiences don’t go for reality rooted games like Madden, Gran Turismo, or Battlefield. COD is anything but “reality rooted” but its military focus comes off as that to anyone who doesn’t know. Make it Zombie focused and it will sell well.
The frame rate and graphics never bothered me. But I’ll tell you what did bother me. It was impossible to 100% this game on the Switch. If you beat all the side quests and get all the riddler trophies, at the last moment the game would just go to black. You couldn’t get the real ending. It was a severe glitch only known by the people who tried 100%ing the game on Switch. From the release of the game to current day it never got patched. TIL NOW!!! You can finally beat the game and get the real ending!!!! I thought this patch would never come! I booted up my save file, went to where it would always glitch and it finally worked. I can’t believe they finally fixed it.
The cancelled game is gonna be Goldeneye HD, it was going to be an Xbox Live game in 2008 but agreements in between Nintendo and Xbox fell through. Now with relations much better, and Xbox Live coming to the Switch, I can imagine this HD port of Goldeneye being revived and released as an eshop title. It was nearly completely finished after all.
If anything I’d think this would be hinting at an MK character as DLC in Smash Bros. Scorpion and Sub Zero have appeared blood and fatality-less in the Injustice video games.

Re: The New Castlevania Title "Is Not A Roguelike Or Roguelite Game"
I’m getting kinda worn out with metroidvanias. There’s just way too many now. I would welcome a classic classic level based castlevania.

Well Ubisoft you know what would also over perform? The Sands of Time Remake.

This entire game reminds me of the final boss from Gunman Clive 2. Makes so much sense that this is what they’ve been working on
