@Jamie0 a lot of game mags are harsh to shooters that aren't Ikaruga. I liked shattered soldier too despite the many boss battles and extreme difficulty. this actually looks like what a contra sequel on playstation 1 would have been in a perfect world.
@superman I can see your point that they are very similar however for shooter/shmup fans just having new levels is reason enough to get it since "classic" contra hasn't been on home consoles in a while. Also not everyone has a DS or is spending their parents money. Some earn there money. Plus its only $10 for new contra even if it is short.
I have bomberman blast and not sure if this will be worth it. New modes are nice but hopefully the don't end up being too chaotic and actually require team strategy. The extra modes in blast were fun but most ended up kinda random. Also need to get rid of any shake commands in the wii version
looks a lot like the flash game squares. I liked the backgrounds of the previous games this one looks too minimalistic. still its is more bit.trip and they also seem to give us great, impossibly hard gameplay, and great catchy music so I'm still looking forward to it.
Good review though a mention of how it compares to other games in the series would have made it more complete. However, I appreciate a review like this more than a review like say from IGN where they spend the whole time complaining about what it doesn't have. Since Drill Land never came out outside japan this seems like a good choice for those that want a drill game
I think it would sell better if they had real images of girls but I do think the anime style girls look really cute and better than the real girl they initially showed. @Betagam7 this review has nothing to do with the VC. Also since the game has "sexy" in the title obviously people would want and expect nudity from it so it makes sense that lack of nudity is mentioned in the review. I doubt this would be pulled or anything considering there is no nudity and just cute girls in skimpy outfits. I doubt parents would get all up in arms about that considering there is much worse out there.
This gives hulu and netflix which is nice but I'd only do the trial at most since I wouldn't pay $40 for this. I'm sure netflix will have their own application for wii at some point.
Diehard VC fans have been saying this kind of thing for a while so I'm sure its just some guy putting words into an alleged representative's mouth. There is no reason nintendo can't focus on both wiiware and VC but crazy VC people that hate wiiware have been blaming wiiware for lack of good VC titles since the service started.
Sounds like it will be fun but really should have had online. Also I wonder how much appeal single player will have and if its just random races or if there is any kind of "career" mode or anything like that
I'm not too big on the idea of $10 for a fairly short "episode" of a game. Any other wiiware games possibly coming out? I'd like to see some japanese wiiware games brought here like escape virus, overturn, or even poles big adventure.
@wanderlustwarrior lol. the tower does kinda look like boobs.
Anyway, the graphics look great and the game looks really fun. Kinda like a cross between tower defense and tecmo's deception games. Should be a unique experience and has what my life as a king lacked which is combat you can actually see.
That kind of sense of humor isn't for everyone. Probably more appreciated by Adult swim fans, hardcore indie fans, or fans of crazy stuff like JTHM. I personally liked it as they answered some questions in depth and instead of just saying no or we can't say they gave entertaining answers.
I haven't played bit boy so I'll only comment on the art style here. It looks like they tried for too much simply. While the bit.trip games have a perfect blend of retro and modern bit boy does the retro decently but actually looks worse in the more recent generations. bit.trip games are only made by 3 people so its not likes its some huge studio either. bplus seems to need to focus more on each game instead of trying a bunch of ideas. vektor tank looks like it might be good so long at they don't rush it and put more focus on it.
I'm tired of people complaining about no SSB. If you want the game so bad buy a n64 and the game. Otherwise be happy for actual new releases. bit.trip and bust a move make this a great weeek
the idea sounded good until I realized the actual gameplay didn't change much over the generations. then I saw it was 600 points and thought it might be a good maze game but with only big bplus fans liking this it doesn't look too good. Niki got a good score on here (much better then elsewhere) is that any good?
@bass I love that taito collection but thats the one part that pissed me off about it. I have the US version and in it bust a move looks and sounds like a cheap bootleg without any of the cute characters or anything. So this might be worth getting for me.
people look at bit too much at score and things like metacritic. though this site (or at least "wiiware world") is included they could choose a better variety of sites to get there score. I don't think there should be a separate casual section of sites though reviews should take into account the intended audience and how well made it is for that audience.
has anyone tried it on the hardest difficulty? kinda sucks if its too easy cause for this type of game its ok to be really hard but too easy is not good. still might be worth it for the experience. kinda like playing an arcade shooter port that gives you unlimited continues.
basically one guy from the company said it possible. it also doesn't seem likely. I've seen people get up in arms about this on other sites though there is nothing actually planned or in motion regarding 360 or ps3 ports
i liked eyetoy but it had problems with lighting making it hard to use for anything but very basic games. I imagine the situation would be similar for natal even if it works better. nintendo is definitely far ahead in motion control.
game is so addictive and hard. took many tries just to beat first level. in the case of this game 3 levels is plenty. perfect presentation with great music and good mix of retro and more modern trippy graphics
really good and original game. I'm not a big fan of a lot of puzzle games or games with "fetch this, or use this key" kinda puzzles but I love logical puzzles like say abe's oddysee so this is great. nice mix of puzzle, action, and a horror setting. motion control with flashlight and slingshot are nice. only thing that could be better is in game graphics for the characters. I read a review saying they should have stuck closer to the concept art and I couldn't agree more. the art by fsc is great but the graphics in game are only ok and could have had more detail or at least style. still gameplay is great and something that stands out as unique.
fun game especially for 600 points. I actually like the graphics and look similar to sprite graphics to me. has that cel shaded look. game is fun as always and arrange mode is really cool. would have liked the ability to save your game as it takes a while to get through 100 levels.

Re: The Wii Sports Resort Events That Didn't Make It
man we totally got screwed out of the cup and ball game. damn you nintendo
Re: Contra ReBirth Coming To America This Monday
good news. been waiting to hear news of the US release. looks like solid contra action from videos I've seen.
Re: Bomberman Blast: Battlefest Coming to WiiWare
blast isn't laggy if you play with people in your region. at least not for me

Re: Bethesda To Publish Wii Racing Game
this looked fun from a trailer i saw on youtube but I've been hearing that the control is horrible.
Re: Review: Super Star Wars (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
lol @ mark hamill comment. I think its more aimed at his career than his looks.
Re: Nintendo Download: Kindred Spirits, Rock N' Roll, Star Wars and Different Art (US)
Am I the only one who thought the title was referring to rock n roll racing?
Re: NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits Available in North America Next Monday
looking forward to getting this

Re: Worms Coming to WiiWare and Possibly DSiWare
worms games are great but the wii retail worms game seems to have not been good. hopefully this is much better for worms fans
Re: Review: Eduardo the Samurai Toaster (WiiWare)
I'm definitely gonna get this at some point. Love the style and love run and gun games.
Re: Review: The Three Musketeers: One For All! (WiiWare)
Nice review. Probably gonna pass on this one due to other games being more desired and the tacked on motion controls.

Re: Interviews: Max & the Magic Marker - Press Play
This is looking really good
Re: Tales of Monkey Island Coming to WiiWare on Monday
you sure this time?
Re: Incoming Trailer and Screenshots
This makes me want a real artillery game on wiiware.
Re: Interviews: The Three Musketeers: One For All! - Legendo
Looks good but I don't like the idea of swinging the wiimote to attack in a game like this. Also, first game I've seen at 900 points.
Re: Wii Sports: Resort launch event
9 a.m. – 3 p.m? They should have made this a longer event.

Re: Review: Let's Tap (Wii)
that best buy tapping pad looked comically bad. I don't know why they couldn't give North American gamers a damn box.

Re: Box Art: Metroid Prime Trilogy
Looks nice. They should include the 2d metroid games as unlockable bonuses
Re: Mecho Wars Confirmed for WiiWare and DSiWare
Something about Luc rubs me the wrong way but I do like his art style.
Re: Review: Drill Sergeant Mindstrong (WiiWare)
only a 5? I thought this was gonna be THE wiiware game to get...
Re: Carnival King heading to WiiWare
so exciting...
Re: Muramasa: The Demon Blade Gameplay Trailer
Looking forward to this. What are the optional challenges and mini games? I haven't heard anything about that before.
Re: Nintendo Download: Drill Sergeants, Puzzles, Golf, Art Styles and Planets (US)
nothing interests me this week. oh well, maybe next week
Re: Shia LaBeouf Disses the Wii
