Re: Nintendo Download: 9th July (Europe)

jangonov

I just thought about it. If it does well on wiiware, maybe we could get an online 3DSware version! Think about it. Toribash is graphically simple, but likely needs the rest of the processor to do the physics. Perhaps the 3DS could handle that. If I could see a dismembered robot head with paint pouring out fly "at" me, I think I would be happy.

Re: Nintendo Download: 9th July (Europe)

jangonov

I am looking forward to the review of toribash. If the controls and interface are done well enough I will get it (PLEASE to whoever is reviewing, please review the controls and interface. It is basically purchase a decision for me. Also, try to review the "learning curve" Thanks!)

Re: Podcast: Episode 17 - E3 Roundup!

jangonov

This is the first one I think I have listened to. Prosody, Even though I saw the little UK flag, I was not expecting the accent. Then again, I am American. I suppose I have the accent. Great show though! I will subscribe on iTunes as soon as I get my laptop back from repairs.

Re: E3 2010: Your Questions: Day 3

jangonov

btw Corbie, I want to thank you so much. I know it is silly to thank someone to go to an event they wanted to go to anyways (most likely, and if you don't next year, I will gladly take your place ) but you did a good job on reporting and answering everything. You actually got more info out than sites that had teams of people. This is why I have been with nintendolife everyday since you guys were vc-reviews.

Re: E3 2010: 3DS Will be Out Within 12 Months

jangonov

@Tri4ceHolder, While I understand that a new system JUST came out not too long ago, some people really want the upgrade. Some users here even have a DSlite or the original. If they still have that, they might really want all the features. Heck, I have a DSi, and even I am ready to place a preorder. Then again, I am a bit more obsessive about games than your standard consumer.

Re: E3 2010: Nintendo 3DS

jangonov

I am stunned. This is amazing, and I am waiting for any info on it. I need to know a release date and price. Once I know those I can plan to save my money, or an elaborate bank robbery edit @nintenzo I clicked it, but nothing is happening. What is there? @rally I am sure most major game stores will have a trade-in program, and yes, I plan to trade my DSi for it. I love my DSi, and had many good times with it in the short >2 years so far, but...yeah. 3DS

Re: E3 2010: Trailer of Wii-Exclusive Activision GoldenEye Remake Leaks

jangonov

@Faxanadu replaced main character because of legal reasons. Right now, the ORIGINAL game rights are being fought over by 5 companies. Nintendo, Rare, Microsoft, EA, and MGM. Each have rights to the game in some way or the other. Nintendo had the original system and publishing rights, Rare was the Original developer, Microsoft has a big contract with Rare, EA has the rights to James Bond as a video game character, and MGM has the rights to James Bond as a whole. Try being the lawyer for THAT one.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Franchise Mode Gets Upgraded

jangonov

nah, I want a "master" version of the n64 title, Madden 97. I mean wow, that controlled great. And the graphics! they are on par with the ps3 and 360 versions today. Sound ridiculous? See, this is because I have eyes, and can see that the wii version is not even close to the other versions. Heck, I bet the psp is getting a style I can tolerate.

Re: Madden NFL 11 Franchise Mode Gets Upgraded

jangonov

ok, I am not a "good graphics" person, as in I don't think you need ultra pretty visuals to make a good game. However, EA has given up on the wii, and it shows. Look at this and last years game. If I am to play virtual football, I want it to LOOK like football. Not like a Saturday morning cartoon. I half expect a ridiculous side story where they race cars or battle monsters during the half-time show. I love the wii, but if I want to play football, I am sticking with my "anything but the wii" console.

Re: E3 2010: Wii Predictions

jangonov

"you can probably bank on at least two high-up Nintendo executives playing it on stage and making fools of themselves. Hey, it's all part of the E3 spectacle." NO. I refuse to believe this. Of all the rumors and hype that are believable, I refuse to say this is true, even if the facts are staring me in the face.

Re: Keep Your Life Collected with Nnooo's MyDiary

jangonov

the notebook application is very nice, and these new ones sound great, but how much will they be, and will the old ones get the upgrade? (carbon is a great color choice btw) also, while I love the option to jot down notes quickly (helps immensely seeing as how I don't have much time) Is there a way that these new ones can have an on screen keyboard? I have terrible handwriting as is. Combine that with modern life needing a keyboard so often, and I barely write anymore, so I am always out of practice. It would be nice to have a way to type things, even if only to clarify what I wrote earlier.

Re: Rytmik

jangonov

When will this be in america? will there be a contest for us too?

Re: Rumour: 3DS Could Rival PS3 and 360 in Power Stakes

jangonov

@eripmav it does not need to be at 120hz to do it. That is for shutter glasses with an HD tv, and the necessary 120hz for that is only so the shutter glasses don't cut the quality in half by only seeing half of it (making it look choppy at 30, where as 60 is fine) Paralax technology, the most likely way they are to pull it off, does not work like that, since it has no glasses. They can't make it into big screens because your peripheral vision would distort large screens using it, but on a small screen (4" or so) it works fine.

Re: New Nintendo Video Reminds You Wii has Great Games

jangonov

Wow, maybe they are trying to get hardcore status built up for e3. Maybe they won't embarrass themselves (and me a little since everyone knows how much I was looking forward to 09 and then had to explain what the vitality sensor did with a "I dunno what game they could use it for")

Re: NHL Slapshot Includes Wii's First Dinky Hockey Stick

jangonov

@kirk sadly, you are completely correct. This'll sound mean, but in a way I hope Nintendo reveals something that makes it impossible for casuals to casual it up. It isn't that I don't like new people playing games, but that when I see a 38 year old woman selling a wii on tv and tells mothers who know no better that the kids will love it, it will help them lose weight, and it requires useless attachments, the wii becomes no more important that a juicer or a pocket fisherman.

Re: NHL Slapshot Includes Wii's First Dinky Hockey Stick

jangonov

Wow good job Bloodysaber. I thought it was Mr. Gretsky degrading himself to holding a dinky hockey stick in trade for the real thing, but that was just too obvious. Speaking of which, how does this thing work? I would really like to know how a plastic add on can help you play more accurately. Does it have it's own motion plus type device built in? If so, then my skepticism is unfounded, but when Mr. Nickolls said that, I got the vibe of those people selling the wii on HSN. You know, the ones who say "and it comes with this tennis racket! You're kids need this to play tennis is wii sports." before they bundle it with "Go Play! Circus Star" and throw the remote through the tv.

Re: Kaasa Health to Release Balance-Based WiiWare Game and Mat

jangonov

Kaasa has lost all focus. They released flashlight, which just turns on the screens. That is what the power button is for. Then they show this, which from the trailer, looks to offer nothing more than wiifit but requires the balance board. There is a very good chance if you have a balance board, you own wiifit, so what is the point?

Re: La Mulana Developers Discuss Religious and Rating Issues

jangonov

If the original team made it one way, I refuse to condone the censorship of their art. If it gets a higher rating, then it does, but I do not think an artist or art team needs to be censored, especially for a statue. Do people look at the Venus de'milo (forgive the spelling) and think "she should have a shirt on"?

Re: Rytmik

jangonov

I wish this would come to America next week. I want this program so badly

Re: Nintendo Relicenses SC Texture Technology

jangonov

@Objection_Blaster OBJECTION! No no no. I don't want that. Look at the PSP. It has UMD's and not only does that suck the battery life trying to spin the disk and use the laser, but more moving parts means more to break. I am all for playing gamecube on the go, but I would rather download the game and have it on flash memory, SD, or something else.

Re: Talking Point: The Virtual Console's PAL Problem

jangonov

I never knew the difference between 50 and 60 Hz, but it makes me feel fortunate to be an american gamer. I feel sorry for europe, and while I understand not "remastering" them to run in 60 Hz for "nostalgia" the VHS to DVD analogy is spot on. If the world got them as they should have been, but Europe got an admittedly crippled version, Europe should at least get the same treatment as the world when they are re-released.

Re: Review: The Price is Right (DSiWare)

jangonov

Europe got this before america? "an american game show, with an american host, using american dollars to guess the american price of a product......Oh yeah, release it in europe, in fact, make it go over there first!" their marketing guy is top-notch

Re: New Rytmik Web Site Will Have You Nodding To Its Freshness

jangonov

It certainly needs to come to America. Day 1 download for me. I think I might even hold off on getting Korg DS-10+ now. Btw, does anyone know if we can save tracks made to our SD cards to play or even transfer to our computer? Can we trade songs or clips to other DSi's with this game?

Re: Virtual Console Confirmed for DSiWare

jangonov

The entire time I knew it was April Fools day, and I promised myself not to believe anyone or anything, and yet I wanted this to be real so much that I put my rules aside and got excited for a second. LOL I think I am the biggest fool, since I expected it, and believed it anyways.
