Re: Review: Drift Street International (DSiWare)

jangonov

I have both, but Drift still is not bad. I just wish it was 500. It looks nice, but even though it says there are a bunch of tracks, there are really only 3 with different routes, each one longer than the last. I don't mind it, but I wish there was more variety in the tracks and cars. Also, did anyone else notice some game breaking glitches too? every once in a while, if you drift into a curve the wrong way, your car will fall through the track. and the game will respawn you, but it is under the track, so you fall again. Then it repeats over and over until you have to restart the race

Re: Lumines Dev Not Impressed With 3DS

jangonov

@chiefthunder, I agree. Rouge Squadron would be amazing on there, even if they just made the 64 version to be 3-D (beyond the models of the X-wings and and tie-fighters) I hope that they make VC games transferable to the 3DS, or at the very least, make a handheld virtual console. So many good gameboy games need batteries to play, and short of cracking the case, you can not replace them. I want a digital version. If they just so happen to add the current VC to it as well, then it will be even better.

Re: Might The Next Zelda Sense Your Vitality?

jangonov

I am willing to try it out, but wouldn't it make more sense to have a nunchuck with a vitality sensor built in somewhere? Then just replace it as the standard nunchuck over time? I just worry that if the Vitality Sensor is JUST that, that it will take the slot for anything else, unless it has a passthrough, but I dont want a wiimote, Wiimotion plus, Vitality sensor, and a nunchuck all plugged in at once. That is one controller, two wires, and a lot of confusion for anyone new

Re: Might The Next Zelda Sense Your Vitality?

jangonov

woah woah woah, there is one thing that nobody has said yet. If it uses wiimotion plus, AND the vitality sensor, I have two major questions.
1) how the heck will we move link without a nunchuck?
2) if somehow they get around moving link, how will we swing our sword without the vitality sensor flinging off of our fingers?
The only thing I can think of for #1 is that it will tell us to plug in the vitality sensor when it is needed (which would be awful)
and for #2 I have no clue.

Re: Review: Rage of the Gladiator (WiiWare)

jangonov

I agree 100% and if Nintendolife gave half stars I would give it 9.5. My only quam with it is that I do not like how the motion plus is used, and I ended up going NES style. But that is personal preference. Ghostfire seems to be a master at compression, between this and the amount of music on Helix, I am completely impressed with them

Re: Review: Dance Dance Revolution: Mario Mix (GameCube)

jangonov

This one is good if you have never played DDR at all. This was the first one I ever played (aside from failing in the arcades a few times) and it it a good baby step if you are looking for a light work out to mario music. If you are going for turning into a master at it, just get any other though, since the hardest mode on this is medium on other games

Re: Rage of the Gladiator

jangonov

I just downloaded Rage of the Gladiator, and I like it so far, but I have a question about the wiimotion plus part of it. I have one, and in RotG it does not seem to do much, in fact, the control is less precise. Is there something I am doing wrong?

Re: Reggie: Innovation Is Still Nintendo's Priority

jangonov

@thefox, actually the PS3 is one of the best blu-ray players on the market, since it has every feature the others do (and more than some, such as being able to connect to BD-Live via wifi) and the picture is able to output in full 1080p. So how is it sub-par?

Re: Feature: The Making of the Nintendo Game Boy

jangonov

The Gameboy was the first system I owned, and it blew my mind. If someone told me that I would have the power of a Nintendo 64 in my hands, I would have called them crazy, since obviously nothing was better than the gameboy

Re: Netflix Survey Suggests DS Video Streaming

jangonov

@bellgoriiing It is a bit low res, but the human eye can only see so much detail. If you have a 1080p HDTV that is 12" big, will it make a HUGE difference from SD? not really other than the picture being brighter than a CRT

Re: Top DS Toilet Timewasters

jangonov

I am not saying I never had. I once played Metroid Prime hunters online on the toilet, just because I couldn't leave the area without messing up my score. I just didn't know it was common.

Re: Win a copy of Flipper for DSiWare

jangonov

I wish I had time to do it, I have the cardstock paper, but I have to work way too much to take the time to put proper effort into it, and even if I had the time off, my printer is out of ink. Maybe I can print it at work

Re: Netflix Survey Suggests DS Video Streaming

jangonov

@v8 Ninja, what if they made it a cartridge? Like the free netflix disks. Then the DSi would not have to use its processor for much of anything beyond streaming, rather than internally running software AND streaming. Nintendo would go for being the first portable movie streaming device, so I am sure they would make a few cartridges. Then you have to question whether it would be free or not. Chances are they would charge for it, either through the website or in stores, then let you stream netflix for free beyond that.

Re: Netflix Survey Suggests DS Video Streaming

jangonov

is there a way to take this survey if I am interested in letting them know how much I support this? I have netflix, and I REALLY want this to happen. Heck, I might use this more than my PS3, 360, and if I ever recieve my disk, wii. It would be nice to watch things in my room, and since I am at a campus a lot, it would be nice to watch whatever I want during my breaks

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th March 2010 (North America)

jangonov

to the people saying the don't change the title screen, look at legend of zelda (nes) on VC, then try to stand by that statement. (for you lazy bums, the copyright date has the original and 2003 on it. I know it should not bother me, but it does)

Re: Interviews: Readers Ask Steve Wiebe

jangonov

Not only did Steve Wiebe answer my question, but he gave me the most detailed response. Well, I will be happy for at least a month now. Thanks to Steve for answering me, and thanks to Nintendolife for making it possible

Re: Review: Star Wars: Flight of the Falcon (Game Boy Advance)

jangonov

I played this as a kid. You remember those Hurricanes that hit Florida around 2005? Yeah I was in them, the power was knocked out for 8 days straight, and my only source of entertainment was Flight of the Falcon. I am not sure which was worse, the game or the fact that I had Rouge Squadron, and could not play it. BTW, I played it all on an original GBA. No power for lights, and no backlighting, so I could only play it during the day, and hope that the sky was not black. I wouldn't give it a 2, but then again I was forced to find the fun in that game

Re: Triple Shot Sports

jangonov

I agree, this looks awful. Porting an iphone game to wiiware is not good. The iphone's screen is how big? and I have a 32" HDTV. I am not a graphics centric person, but I at least want them to try.

Re: Review: Real Football 2010 (DSiWare)

jangonov

not bad, but I would only download it if I was interested in non-american football. I've never been big into sports, but as far as football goes, it seems to be a good title. @3 yeah, but I think apple allows bigger file sizes, so they can have new modes, but DSi has less than half a gb of internal memory, so even if a SD card channel of sorts was made (which it needs) it will still be restricted. I was hoping they would fix it when they announced the XL (thought they would make the memory bigger too) but I was wrong

Re: Rage of the Gladiator to Cost 1000 Wii Points

jangonov

This is amazing, I will have enough points to purchase this on day one. And I can guarantee you that the SECOND it hits the store, it will be purchased by me. I think I am looking forward to this more than most other games. Heck they lowered the price, maybe I will go out and buy Helix that day too.

Re: Ask Steve Wiebe

jangonov

A lot of documentaries are skewed to one angle these days, with this in mind, do you believe that "The King of Kong" was fair in it's portrayal of you and of your rival? If not, what would you say is different from reality?

Re: Nintendo Patents Touch Screen Rumble Feature

jangonov

the stylus rumble makes no sense. even if it could, it would have to communicate with the ds. either wired (making is very uncomfortable) or wireless (meaning your battery would die in your stylus) I just think that this is a better idea. Rumble the screen, and you will feel it in your stylus, rumble the stylus and you will lose gameplay

Re: The Nintendo DS in Breakfast Form

jangonov

If it was frech toast, with powdered sugar for features, I would be more amazed. Maybe I am just a fat-kid at heart (its ok, I can say that since I am one in real life too) but that sounds more delicious

Re: Nintendo Power Unwittingly Reveals Wii 2

jangonov

@Ren,it is a monstrous blunder because the editor DIDN'T replace it with a legit licensed photo. Sorry, but I am with V on this one. Doing a google image search for magazine photos is just sad. Mostly because I SAW the original photo used before in the magazine. This shows that the computers at the office's of Nintendo Power are unorganized, and unprofessional.

I am not mad at them because they accidentally "announced" a new console, but because of the unprofessional demeanor of the company as represented by their publication. I know it was a mistake, but it was avoidable.

Re: Nintendo Wins Another Piracy Court Case

jangonov

Captain Morgan? Awesome photo, but you will run out of celebrity pirates soon.
On topic though, it is good that Nintendo did this. Typically, I see many laws as unfair, but piracy hits home a bit more. How will devs make more games without the sales of previous ones? So yeah down with software pirates.

Re: Netflix Lean Towards Wii For Success

jangonov

@The Fox who knows, maybe since people know that netflix is online streaming, they will connect online for the first time. If they do, it will increase revenue. More people online means more people knowing about wiiware, vc, and DLC (as little as there is. Most of it is for music games). And if they know about it, a few of them will buy it. I see this as a very profitable move for Nintendo. Netflix, might get a few more subscribers, but they certainly will not lose any.

Re: MotionPlus Nabs A New Exclusive: Zelda Wii

jangonov

@stuffgamer1, honestly from a developers point of view, it isn't that hard. Heck most of it is copy-paste-reverse. But it does take time to do, which means the investors and publishers will pressure the developers. This makes the developers cut features that they think will be unpopular, and let's face it, the poor lefty's are a small group.

Re: Hands On: Yobo FC-16 Go Portable SNES

jangonov

It wouldn't be bad to have, and there is a shop in my town that sells all the yobo consoles (I have the one that plays genesis nes and snes, I love it) I would by it based on that it can still work like a console. Quick question though, does it need to shut off to run the controllers and a/v out? Like, if it was plugged into my tv, could I just unplug it and take it on the road?

Re: Cursed Mountain Developer Closed

jangonov

wow, bummer. It is sad that the one industry that was thought to be "recession proof" is showing cracks in its facade. Nothing is invulnerable to the lack of funds other than ideas and the human spirit. Still, an industry based on these ideas still needs money to get by. I wish the developers the best

Re: Nintendo Chief Doesn't Care for the iPad

jangonov

personally, I don't like the Ipad. first, It sounds like a hygiene product for women, and second, I agree with Iwata. It is just a big Ipod touch. I know it has its place, and will sell well, but I personally do not see the appeal.

Re: AiRace: Tunnel coming to DSiWare next week

jangonov

I have 300 points, so I will download this. I can't imagine why it is so inexpensive though. Perhaps, Since they are releasing AiRace it was not that big of a deal to make a simplified version. They most likly hope to gain the crowd of people who don't want to spend a lot with this one and the crowd with more money with the next. It is a smart business plan, but if this game is in AiRace in it's entirety I will be a little mad.
