Re: Animal Crossing Devs Reveal How Long New Horizons Has Been In Development

elstif

@Luke937 It is clear now that it was planned to be released on WiiU and of course the project was moved to Switch like Mario Odyssey.
Zelda BOTW was the last WiiU project released on WiiU because it was already annouce for it. Everything else its just going to Switch plus all the great games that came out have been ported already.

This just reflects how much potential the WiiU had but unfortunately failed miserably.

We wont get any ambassador from Nintendo at this time: WiU is dead already.
One of the things that annoys me the most its that im sure they removed many cool uses of the gamepad in BOTW so the switch version was the "Better version"
They didnt even leave the option to use the gamepad as a map/inventory (like in WW HD): that was really dirty and im still salty about that

Re: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze On Switch Loads Twice As Fast As On Wii U

elstif

Sound nice and good for people that didnt get to play it on wiiu but I wont double dip
How about a new DK for switch

Also I dont understand why they are porting every single wiiu game except Mario Maker, I surely double dip on that if it happens.
That will sell like hotcakes and unlike a game like this you can play new levels forever. I checked my wiiu log not long ago and I played mario maker for over 400 hours

Re: Amazon UK Reduces SNES Mini Orders to One Per Customer

elstif

I got my pre-order from FNAC cancelled (only one) after 24 hours
I went in to have a look and found it available, preordered and 10 minutes after they were sold out (like everywhere else)
They said that due to a computer error they took more pre-orders than units they will received.
They were sold out very quickly everywhere in Europe, it seems Nintendo arent producing a lot more SNES than the NES mini

Re: The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Is Officially One Of The Best Games Of All Time

elstif

Im truly disappointed about this game
Im a huge Zelda fan and yes my expectations were very high
But really no dungeons?
Unbelievable
And please most shrines are done in 30 seconds. And I already found 5 that you just get in and get a chest. You dont even have to hit a switch to open a door...
I can belive people giving this 10s and saying is better than OOT
Any mini dungeons on other Zelda games are bigger and better.
Those 4 so called dungeons can be done in under 15 minutes
A huge empty world, after 10 minutes walking and theres only a Korok seed to be found under a rock

Re: Eiji Aonuma Outlines the Challenges in Developing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

elstif

@yomanation
Have you tried Wind Waker HD???
I didn't think having the map on the gamepad would be that useful before I played it. The game overworld is not that big.
On Xenoblade Chronicles X the map on the gamepad was a must, I had it on all the time. Once I put on off-tv to leave the TV available for my son and I couldn't play without it.

It is going to suck so much when traveling in BOTW to stop and pause the game to see where you are going.
It is specially annoying that they removed this. They could have easily leave it on the wiiU version. All other controls could be the same. Just have the option to remove the map from the TV and display it on the gamepad.

I knew this game could have been out over a year ago with all this functionality and probably more, what a shame...

BTW. Why would I buy a Switch now?
There's no games for it. Nintendo released 4 games for WiiU in the last 2 years and they have nothing ready for their awesome new console at launch...
With nothing to play on my WiiU I got a PS4 Pro on XMas.

Zelda BOTW for WiiU is the only money going to Nintendo from me. They'll have a hard time winning me back after 25 years being a hardcore fan.
The 100€ a month I spend on videogames is now going to Steam and PS4 exclusives. It has been like that for 6 months now and it seems it will stay that way at least until the end of 2017

Re: Nintendo Download: 22nd December (Europe)

elstif

@G-Boy

I'm assuming they will shut down online servers for WiiU before the end of 2017 or soon after the NS release. So lets try to cash in on Mario Kart 8 just before we kill it

Discounts are not that good except for Steam world dig
Due to Nintendo's policies you'll be paying rental prices for these games

Re: Feature: It's Time to Vote for Your Nintendo Life Game of the Year Awards

elstif

@Octane
lol Im playing that one right now.
Thanks to Fast Racing Neo that filled the void of F-Zero
Paper Mario was decent
It is sad that there's nothing else to be played in wiiU. All my money for VGs is now going to PS4 exclusives and Steam

Nintendo is going to have to work hard to win me back on 2017
They better have lots of new games instore for switch as I'll not get any remakes/ports and I have Zelda preorder for WiiU since 2015

Re: Talking Point: Imagining a Future Nintendo Switch Budget Spin-Off - A Non-Switching Microconsole

elstif

@Anti-Matter I just don't play on the go
I play on my TV at home
I'm not concerned that much about the power unless it limits the system capabilities to run games
I understand the appeal for people that play on the go but for everyone else we'll have to pay for a screen battery and the limitations of mobile cpu/gpu
Also deal with battery and overheat issues
It has been like this since the gameboy
Sacrifice power for portability

And fine you can connect to a TV with a dock but this is a handheld not a console, I hope Nintendo eventually releases a proper home console
As I said on my previous comment: I'll be happy with the same power on a cheaper home console if the games come to it

Re: Talking Point: Imagining a Future Nintendo Switch Budget Spin-Off - A Non-Switching Microconsole

elstif

@Sockymon You are 100% right they shroud do a CONSOLE because what they revealed no matter what they say is a handheld that connects to a TV
There's nothing new there I can connect a tablet or phone to my TV even without a dock or cables using smart-view. Really not an innovation Nintendo.
A decent 11-13" laptop can do this and It'll do everything with it and not just gaming
For people like me that barely play on the go it is not good.
I can see this going for 399$/ €
And we'll be paying for the portability
That's the price of PS4 Pro surely a lot more powerful
This is probably powerfull enough and I would be all over it if it was just the concept shown here for 150 to 200$/ €
For that price it would sell well, for 350-400 I don't think so

Re: Nintendo Switch Will Be a Single-Screen Experience

elstif

@Niinbendo They basically removed this feature from the WiiU version of Zelda because it couldn't be implemented in the NS version
I'm very upset about this decision
The WiiU would have been the better version but obviously they don't want that

Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the Nintendo Switch?

elstif

Everyone please wake up and look.
This is not a console it is a HANDHELD
It makes me feel very sad but Nintendo officially stopped producing home consoles, the WiiU being the last one

I'm wondering if you could use the switch and the TV at the same time. It will be the only way it could be compatible with DS and 3DS games (even wiiu). I see this being a big flop if it not capable of doing that

Nothing new or excited about this
You can connect any smartphone or tablet to your TV and play with a Bluetooth controller.

Re: Gallery: Let's Take a Look at the Nintendo Switch

elstif

@GraveLordXD
I only play my 3ds XL at home and got it because of the huge library of games
I barely play on the go
The only portable I usually take with me is the GBA SP...

I see why people may like this but it doesn't appeal to me.
It will be underpowered or very expensive just because is portable.
I only see myself getting this early if it will support all 3ds games to play on the big screen.
Otherwise I won't buy one until lots of exclusives are out for it and it is cheap

Re: Gallery: Let's Take a Look at the Nintendo Switch

elstif

I was praying for the rumors to be false but they were all true...
Nintendo is officially out of producing consoles. This is a portable and too big to fit in my pocket so no thanks
I'll probably get a PS4 Pro for XMas
Are there any new games for it besides Zelda which will be on
wiiu

Re: Review: The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (Wii U)

elstif

@Miiamoto No it has not been patched, yesterday I started it and play for around 5 hours only to find out about the save glitch.
I lost at least an hour of gameplay, I'm not sure if I'm going to replay that and continue .
Just came online to see if I find some info about it.
BTW the sound goes muted every so often and it is quite annoying.
I wont mind any of the improvements people talk about (gamepad integration or wiimote). The issue is that is has not been ported properly just for basic play.
The load screens take ages, sound going off all the time and unable to save: basically means the game is broken and unplayable. I'm very disappointed.

Re: Talking Point: The Pros and Cons of Nintendo's NX Secrecy

elstif

@Captain_Gonru
lol
I´m planning to do the same, meaning I will get a PS4 Pro before the end of the year as I wont have anything else to play on My Wii U.
But I might join you with the tweet
I´ll undust the wii U for Zelda BOTW, it was one of the main reasons I bough a wiiU so i wont buy NX for Zelda

Re: Review: Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past (3DS)

elstif

I never got to play this one so really looking forward to it.
The only downside as always is having to play it on the 3DS, I love the 3D effects but nothing beats a nice console controller and a large TV in my book.
I played the hell out of the 3DS but all of it at home so... again dreaming about Nintendo releasing a 3DS player so I could play all of these great games on the big screen

Re: Rumour: ROM Chip Maker Macronix Drops Hint Nintendo Could Be Abandoning Optical Storage For NX

elstif

@abe_hikura haven you seen 64 and 128GB usb flash drives?
you can find now 200GB micro sd cards now (very expesive but they exist)

You can buy a 32GB USB drive, smaller than a 3DS cart for 7€.
If they mas produce them they will very cheap.
Imagine the posibilities:
Any updates for the games will be installed on the game´s memory cards.

The way I see it going to Memory cards (or flash card) is the way to go.

I dont like the digital only idea and cd/dvd/bluray dont make sense anymore

Re: Launching NX Next Year Is The "Proper" Thing To Do, Says Nintendo Boss Tatsumi Kimishima

elstif

The "proper" thing to do is launch Zelda for wii u this year as promise to the people who supported wiiu and waited for Zelda all thse years. Then move on to NX on 2017
I had it preordered since 2013, go ahead and release it again for Nx on 2017
If they dont do that and hold on to it so it can be released for NX first I'll never buy the NX and I wont care how good or amizing it can be. I'm done with this BS and lies
On 2013: Wind waker HD remake to give something to the fans while we wait for zelda u they said.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR THE REST OF 2016????

Re: The Legend of Zelda Wii U Has Been Pushed Back to 2017, Will Release On NX As Well

elstif

@vio the wiiu doesnt have another year, there's one game that lots of people are waiting to be released on it, it is called Zelda U that is being deleayed hoping to push sales of the new NX
What we have is another year of no wiiu games.
What Nintendo needs to do is release Zelda on wiU this year as promised and then get on with the next gen. Instead they are screwing us not releasing the game that is probably ready so it can be on NX hoping people to get it on the new console.
Well not me, I surely would have upgraded to NX early but no more lies.
The NX will be the last Nintendo failure before they died

Re: The Legend of Zelda Wii U Has Been Pushed Back to 2017, Will Release On NX As Well

elstif

@Demoneye223 I'm 100% with you
If I'm not playing the new Zelda on my WiiU by the end of this year I'll never buy any more Nintendo games let alone NX or whatever they release.
I bought the wiiU for Zelda and I've been supporting the games that have been released in the meantime. I own around 400 Nintendo games starting sinse the NES. 30 of those are for the WiiU and Starfox Zero will be last time i gave any more money to Nintendo unless they offer me Zelda before the end of this year

Re: Nintendo Share Price Drops Over 8% as Analysts Weigh in On NX and Mobile Plans

elstif

I'm done with Nintendo. I own all their consoles and hundreds of games.
I have been waiting for the new Zelda for wiiu since I bought it early on 2013
If Zelda is not released by the end of 2016 they will loose me forever.
I tired of being lied to and there's nothing for me to play on my wiiu for the rest of the year, this is worst than the drought of 2013. From now on I'll just stick to multiplatforms and indi games on PC

Re: Xenoblade X Developers Talk About the Game's Complexity and Why The "Xeno" Appears in the Name

elstif

@Christoff

If i were you I´ll start playing Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii, It is very expensive to get a retail copy these days but you can get it on the wii u eShop for €19,99. It is a bargain at that price.
In my book is one of the best JRPGs of all time. Amazing story, epic soundtrack and gameplay.

Xenobalde X expands on the mechanics of the wii version, better graphics, larger map and a new/independent story. But both games are like "brothers", Xenoblade X is the big brother

If you get to enjoy Xenoblade Wii and sink 100 hours in it then go ahead and get the new Xenoblade Chronicles X

Re: Poll: The Tricky Issue of Retail Games as Download-Only Releases

elstif

I have plenty of indi and vc games downloaded but I like all my retail to go on a shelf with the rest of my games collection.

I own around 25 Wii U and 20 3DS games, here are the only retail I got digitally and why:

  • Majora´s mask 3DS: It came with the New 3DS Majora´s mask edition
  • Wonderfull 101 for Wii U - I got it free with a promotion after registering Mario Kart 8
  • Super Mario 3D Land for 3DS: Got it free with a promotion

I got the retail Majora´s Mask 3DS Special edition on the self with the rest of my Zelda Collection and I´ll probably end up getting the other 2 games physically also.

Re: Whisper It - You Can Still Download Rewards From Club Nintendo in Europe

elstif

I got an email from them apologizing because of the problems they had on their site for the last few days, they are leaving it open to redeem stars until the 2nd of October at 5pm CEST
Here´s the email I got from them, it is in Spanish but it basically means what I just said:

Estimado usuario,

Atentamente

Re: Reminder: Club Nintendo Closes in Europe on 30th September

elstif

Oh Man, I've been trying for the last hour and I can get into the star catalogue page
I had around 1200 stars left and I was planning to get a digital game out of them but wasn' t sure which one. Now I guess I'll get nothing.

At least I got some cool staff in the last few months with all the starts I had

Re: Nintendo Download: 30th July (Europe)

elstif

I´m getting Legend of Kay retail, I usually prefer physical media.
Leaving behind my preference I still don´t get the benefits of downloading retail games when they are more expensive to buy on the eShop and you will never be able to sell it used.
I got this one pre-ordered on Amazon for €19,95
Who is going to pay €29,99 for the download version?
Also, are they ever going to start getting the VC up to speed? Nothing again this week

Re: Talking Point: Assessing the Odds of Super Mario Maker Making a Commercial Splash This September

elstif

I´m pretty sure the game will sell very well, but like most people are saying: it will be to people that already own a WiiU, It will move a few units but it wont change the WiiU status.

It already has plenty of platform games, they needed some big Adventure and RPGs
That´s what my WIiU is been craving for the last 2 years. I cant wait for Xenoblade X, but that niche and wont move many systems.
Im a huge Zelda fan and I personally dont mind waiting for it so they can "make it better" but that´s what they should have focus on this year at E3 and have it ready for XMAS or maybe 1st quarter of 2016 for the 30th anniversary. The 21st of February 2016 would be a great day to release it worldwide!!!

But no, I feel they killed the WiiU´s last hope at E3 and I´m not the only one.
Everyone wanted: Hey Zelda it´s coming early next year, it is a huge and awesome adventure.
I´m sure that would have move some systems.
As I said before I don´t mind waiting but, that´s being in works for over 4 years, isnt that enough time? That´s what the system needed after Mario Kart and SSB, the last boost to take off.
But the:

  • We are not showing Zelda and we dont know/tell when it will be out
  • Nothing new shown to be released on 2016
  • We do not show and say anything else but: "NX is coming"

Nobody will get excited about wiiU now and there´s lost of rumors around talking ZeldaU will be on NX too, so why buy a WiiU?
I fear that those end up being true and they are actually delaying it to port/adapt it to the NX and it will be like TP

Re: Nintendo Announces Super Mario Maker Wii U Hardware Bundle

elstif

@shigulicious
I got a preorder of the limited edition pack at game for 54,95€ last week
The Standard version with artwork is at 42.95€
The wii U bundle is at 304,95€
I guess prices in the US will be very close to this (not taking into account currency exchange, we always pay more here just because...) so 54.95$ for the limited pack

The standard and limited edition are available for pre-order on the EU Amazon sites
