@Rika_Yoshitake The current overlords at Nintendo are smart, but you can see how greedy the company has gotten lately. I know it's a business, but they do no small favor to the consumer whatsoever.
@electrolite77 Definitely costs money, thats for sure. But this is why i believe (in my opinion, anyway) that selling at a loss - or at least breaking even for a while - would be a decent move. This would allow Nintendo consoles' reputation to shift over the course of several years and a different kind of audience would gradually come (thanks to more triple-A titles as a result of said power). Think of it as an investment, pretty much.
@johnvboy Oh definitely, but that's kind of my point. Nintendo's consoles have always relied so much on first-party titles for success, when the playing field should be more leveled across first and third parties. But Nintendo never really makes it easy for them.
@electrolite77 It's not even about competing, but rather about providing a more capable console for the consumer's best interest. It's a bit sad that I will have to buy a PS4 or seriously upgrade my PC to play many games. So this goes beyond competition, really; just a bit more power would do wonders.
As hard as it is to admit, Nintendo consoles will always lack a lot of great titles. Let's face it: It's rare (and sometimes impossible) to ever see the latest GTA or the latest whatever, and Nintendo is partly to blame for this.
I don't personally like Call of Duty, but you get my point (im speaking about intensive games in general).
After all, why purchase the lesser experience when you can get the superior experience on another system for the same exact price? (and by that, I mean better online play and more realism, etc). This console has given us portability, but Nintendo consoles need more than that if they ever hope to see certain titles.
Hopefully Nintendo will slowly adapt better specs in the future, even if it has to sell consoles at a loss for a while.
@FX102A Nintendo has gotten increasingly greedy over the years, that's all. Notice how every little Switch accessory costs an arm and a leg. Now they don't even let you back up your games to an SD card.
This is on top of selling you a console with only 32GB of storage space.
I love the Switch, but damn Nintendo.....what's happening to you? I understand they're a business, but they reaaaally refuse to simply "break even" with certain things. Every little thing has to deliver a profit, no exceptions. The lack of SD saves proves it, along with everything else.
@AcridSkull I couldn't agree more. Why spend their resources feeding us the same old games over and over again? Why not fix the things which are obviously broken or in need of improvements? Welcome to Nintendo logic.
I don't know what kind of drugs the Konami CEO is on, but it surely is the best on the market. If you ever want to know the king of odd behavior, look no further than Konami.
@onex You sound rather entitled with that comment. Let's wait until reviews come out and THEN we can judge it properly. A one-man game doesn't automatically mean it's inferior. This trailer only showed .1% of the game, after all.
@Cosats And it's a pretty easy fix, thats the part I don't get. Also, this website has been in need of a "half point system" for a very long time now (reviews-wise).
All in all, NintendoLife is starting to feel more and more corporate — where 90% of suggestions fall on deaf ears - no matter how popular and good they may be.
@Nintentoons I know it's only your opinion, but i can't help but notice something about many gamers: Whenever a game comes out that's highly similar to another, it always seems to be "a rip-off" in the eyes of gamers. Can't two similar games co-exist without people minimizing one of them or making comparisons?
This is more noticeable when it comes to niche titles. So if a new lawyer-type game comes out, it wouldn't surprise me if people call it an Ace Attorney rip-off.
@G_M Very true. People have been conditioned to "root" for one versus another for years, and that's the problem.
For example, the Wii is largely regarded as having nothing but shovelware. If i had that toxic mentality, I would have never bought it and enjoyed the countless great games it also has in between.
People seem to develop an odd personal attachment toward corporations that (quite frankly) don't give a hoot about consumers other than their money — as they should. it's a very interesting and odd thing, psychologically speaking.
I appreciate the attention on Switch, but im also beginning to feel a bit disappointed. It's clear the Switch is primarily becoming a porting machine.
Of course there's also a lot of original games as well, but this console has seen the biggest amount of ports any console has ever seen by a large margin.

Re: Nintendo Switch Only Accounted For 7% Of Ubisoft's Yearly Revenue
I would highly suggest Ryan (the author) to remove the word "Only" from the title, as it gives everything a negative vibe.
But who am i kidding; the admins on this site don't ever listen to feedback.
Re: Get In The Holiday Mood With Bandai Namco's Go Vacation For Switch
Great. Back to the God forsaken Wii era with this crap.
Re: Alwa’s Awakening Will Magic Its Way Onto Nintendo Switch This Summer
The indie scene has become soooooo synonymous with 8-bit games, im beginning to grow tired of it...
That being said, the game itself DOES look pretty fun, and (i suppose) that's what matters most.
But can we please move onto 16 bit just a little more often? Lol, games like Fox n Forests could use some competition in the looks department.

Re: Review: Timberman VS (Switch eShop)
I'd personally give it a 6 instead of 5. It's incredibly simple, but it does what it set out to do fairly well. Especially in short bursts.
If nothing else, this is why Nintendo Life has been in need of a 'half point system' for a while now.

Re: Fox N Forests Will Leap And Bound Onto Switch On 17th May
I absolutely ADORE this game. If the developer ever reads this comment, THANK YOU.
It also reminds me of an old DOS game I used to play called Shakii the Wolf:

Re: Dark Souls: Remastered Succumbs To Delay On Switch, Along With Solaire amiibo
At this point, im numb to the news of 50% of games always being late on Switch. It is what it is: A secondary console.

Re: Video: Fox n Forests Is Looking Particularly Gorgeous In This Latest Footage
FINALLY something that resembles more 16-bit instead of 8-bit. All these 8-bit games have been making me sick as of late.
Im definitely buying this one.

Re: Get Ready To Share Your Emotions With Sally's Law On Switch
I dont mean to [removed] on indies, but most of them are starting to look/feel so samey. The formula has gotten old.
8 out of 10 games are just some simple side-scrollers or top-down slashers, and most of them carry a retro look. Rinse and repeat.
Re: Review: Rally Racers (Switch eShop)
Clearly these developers have some programming knowledge, so why waste their talent and resources on something like this?
Given a little more effort, they could have come up with something closer to 1999's Re-Volt instead.
Re: Review: Rally Racers (Switch eShop)
@zool After WWE2k 18 and Rime (before patch), apparently Nintendo's letting just about anything get through.
