Re: Sharp Gearing Up to Supply 'Free-Form' LCD Screen Technology for Future Nintendo Hardware

devilwaffle

So I did some research, and the "free form" screens does NOT mean that you can bend the screen. It instead means the screen is not limited by the rectangular shape you see in tvs, phones, and most everything else. It also makes it so the screen doesn't require that rim around it that overlaps the glass, as the video shoots through the screen or something. In any case, my guess it could be for an interesting display shape (probably not the primary screen of a gaming console) and could be really cool if it were say, a minor screen for hud that could constantly display time, battery life, internet connection, volume, ect. Most likely I see this technology going to a thinner screen for a console or as a weird shaped screen for their QOL program.

Re: Masahiro Sakurai Explains Why Mewtwo Isn't Paid DLC in Smash Bros.

devilwaffle

Guys I don't have any problem with this idea nor its distribution, the only problem I have is that I want to know exactly how it distributes because if it's a one time connection then there us going to be a character that I have that my brother can't unless we drop 60$ for it. And in that situation, I think a paid unlock should be an option.

Re: New Nintendo Direct Airing 5th November

devilwaffle

Well obvious point will be duck hunt's official video, and then I can only hope for splatoon information. And I can wish for the zelda footage they'd never show this early. And an even more impossible wish would be flipnote 3D in america. Maybe they could show some more "New 3DS" game exclusives.

Re: Nintendo Japan Announces Plans for YouTube Affiliate Program

devilwaffle

While this is a step in the right direction, I still don't like it. Ad revenue from these videos is already really tiny. And there's no saying how much of it Nintendo will share. I know the work that goes into these videos and I believe the creators of the videos deserve the revenue. Many people's negativity towards these people are biased or they're acting like dumb parents who can't appreciate what their childeren are into. "Stop playing those dumb games, do something in real life." "Stop making those dumb videos, make some money with a real job." It can be a real job, and it benefits the company. Hell, one guy (gaijin goombah) made a video that towards the end promoted an indie game because it's mechanics and story were accurate to ninja history and not ninja stereotype. And the sales of that game skyrocketed. The company REWARDED him with a signed figure-stague thing of their game protagonist. Because people who watched his video became interested in a game they were previously unaware of or didn't have any interest in at the time. These people matter and their opinions matter to their viewers, whether or not you believe they are stupid, they have impact and they do matter. And I guarantee you that video did a LOT of research and time carefully taken to find real facts about ninjas under the large pile of stereotype we have today. He put work and effort into his video and he deserved the revenue he earned from it. Heck, the company believed he deserved more then the revenue.

Re: Soapbox: Ignoring The Objectification Of Women In Games Won't Make the Problem Go Away

devilwaffle

Personally, I think that there's no problem with this game. Yes, it objectifies women and is made entirely for pleasuring a male audience, but that doesn't offend me in the slightest. although they aren't nearly as common, girls have their own medias that objectify men, and are made with a female audience in mind. in the videogame industry a lot of these follow under yaoi dating simulators. Do those offend me, though? nope. Lots of people enjoy them so I've no reason to tell them it's wrong.

Re: Metroid Fan Film Seeks Crowdfunding For Completion

devilwaffle

Why are people wanting this to get shut down? If you don't like it, and don't want it to happen, then don't support it, don't watch it, and let the people who would actually like to see a Metroid Movie watch it. So it uses someone's IP, who cares? They aren't charging you to watch it. They just have an ambition to make something out of respect for what they love, and are asking for support. And by the way, asking for support is not a bad thing.

Re: Miyamoto: Mario Will Likely Return To Single-Player

devilwaffle

I'll admit this wasn't expected, and isn't exactly a step forward, but you can't say the game doesn't look fun.

As for the "Galaxy series" I loved galaxy, and Galaxy 2 was "meh." for me. I wish they waited a bit longer before making a sequel so that it would be more fresh. For example, if they made a sequel to Mario Sunshine now, over 10 years after it's release, I would buy that game on day 1. And as an example for the bad, you have Mario 3D world coming out slightly over a year or two passed Mario 3D Land. It's not fresh, it's not nostalgic, it's just Mario 3D land with multiplayer, HD, multiple characters, and cats. While these are great features, and I welcome them, it is not enough to make this a new experience.

Re: Pachter: Nintendo Has Lost Its "Mojo"

devilwaffle

Meh, I do need to get a second system for third party anyways, but I still entirely missed out this generation, so I need to get a PS3, unless PS4 is magically blessed with backwards compatibility. I'd like to play all of the Tales of Xillia, Half Life, Katamari, and Skyrim that I missed out on.

Re: Fan Campaign Starts for Princess Zelda to be Given a "Stronger" - Perhaps Playable - Role

devilwaffle

I haven't had any problems with Zelda's Role in the games. Her role was very strong in Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Spirit Tracks, and Skyward Sword as far as I've seen. Yeah, she was a damsel in distress, but she was a master of disguise, as Shiek, a freaking captain of a Pirate crew where most of the members are 4 times her size, a walking Suit of Armor, and was the Goddess Hylia herself.
If they give her a more prominate role in the next games (which I don't see how she could be more important unless she got her own game herself) Then that's great. I have no problem with it. But if she doesn't, and is how she is or possibly less, if they're lazy with the story, I'm fine with that, too.

Re: Nintendo May Have Eased Off On Its Claims To 'Let's Play' Ad Revenues

devilwaffle

As an early Let's Player myself, I'm pretty happy about this. I don't monetize my videos, at least yet, and I'm only on my first series witch is a third party title, but I now definitely understand the trouble that the other let's players go through. And I'm glad they can get their ad revenue for it again, if this is true anyways.

Re: Nintendo Falls Under Further Pressure Regarding Conflict Mineral Policies

devilwaffle

I don't know anything about other companies, but I'm sure Nintendo won't allow slavery as part of there production lines, or at least wouldn't let anyone know about it; if not for the slaves, then for their reputation. As far as I know, which isn't much, mind you, if someone found proof of any of this, and made it known to the general public, then Nintendo would likely stop.

Re: Nintendo to Launch First Free-To-Play Game By March 2014

devilwaffle

It's hinting that it is to try to help the company's relationship with a certain franchise, and as I'd LOVE this to be a cheaply made free-to-play Chibi Robo title... I'm expecting it to be Wii Fit U demo with exercises that don't use the Wii Fit Board, to help ease the haters that don't like the new Smash Bros character...

Re: Rumour: Best Buy's Wii U E3 Demo List Revealed

devilwaffle

I actually have no problem with this, other then New Super Luigi U. because that's just stupid. I was already expecting Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101. I also assumed there would be Game and Wario, but I guess they didn't go with that. So, if this is true, I'll go just to play Pikmin and Zelda HD.
