@Betagam7 You are absolutely correct. If NL claims to supposedly know people at SEGA to send lists of games people want to see on the VC, why can't they just ask them what the deal is with the 50hz games on the PAL VC. Just a simple question like, "Why do you downgrade Hanabi titles to 50hz when they are originally 60hz? Is this to "cover" for your other games being 50hz, or is this Nintendo's policy?" That's all they would have to ask.

Also, to the mods here, believe it or not this site is quite popular. If not many people know about the 50 hz issue, why don't you make a talking point article about it? It would surely get lots of attention. And then show this supposed SEGA rep the article too. The people running this site don't know how much power of influence they really have. If they wanted to they could make a difference, or at the very least find out from SEGA what the deal is.

Speaking of hz issues, I'm a little bummed that NA C64 games run at a higher hz (don't remember specifics) than they are supposed to. It makes the game seem sped up. But that's another issue for another day

Ratengo, to avoid dissapointment, I would just go by whether or not it has been rated in your respective region. On the coming soon it always says it if it is ESRB rated, or whatever ratings board your country has.

If this game is only 500 points, it will be my 2nd Master System purchase Glad I held off on the TG16 version

Tournament isn't perfect, but unless this game does something spectacular I don't see a reason to download a 2nd Texas hold em game

@Stuffgamer

Well since you don't like the game I'm probably wasting my time here, but here are some tips on landing the plane. Don't focus too much on getting the proper angle, you may lose a few points over it, but it's really not a big deal. Just as you approach the runway (the bigger one, unless you've gotten really good I wouldn't try the small one) gradually lower your speed and altitude, lightly touch down on the runway and then come to a stop. If you can land the plane in the first mission then it really shouldn't be that much harder. With practice you can get better at your angle, but I don't think you would lose more than 10 points or so for a bad angle.

EDIT: Also, make sure you give yourself enough room to land. If your coming in too fast or whatever, just fly back around and try again.

@Mach-X

I'm assuming you didn't grow up with the original Final Fantasy. I did though, and I would take it over the remakes (and yes I own Final Fantasy Origins on PSX) simply for nostalgia. It really doesn't play a whole lot different than the remakes, if anything it's more challenging.

Something tells me they are saving SSB for our 315th, 320th, or 325th game.

As for Empire Strikes Back, to those of you who downloaded it, does the title screen still show THQ or JVC? THQ published the re-release, while JVC did the original release.

Re: Review: Pilotwings (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)

Stuffgamer, no offense but I just lost a lot of respect for you with your assessment of Pilotwings. How could you land the plane in lesson 1 but not in lesson 2? It's the same way! The game is not as complicated as your making it out to be. I'm assuming you don't have the instruction manual as that would tell you about the controls, but it is very simple to figure out what to do. Skydiving - Fall through the rings and land. Rocketbelt - Fly through rings, land. Light Plane - Fly through green dots, land. Hanglider - Hit air current and land. Seriously man, how could you find that complex and confusing? As for redoing missions you do well on after not getting enough points, on just about any other game don't you have to redo levels after getting a game over? There's nothing wrong with just not liking a game, but those complaints seem a little lame...

After comparing videos of the VC version and the actual TG-CD version, it appears the sound effects drown out the music in the actual TG-CD version as well. I suppose I could be wrong, but even if I am the difference was not noticeable.

Re: Golden Axe

This would be an instant buy for me. This is much better than the Genesis version.

Re: Battle Poker

Yeah I used to love Left Field Productions, I would almost buy this just to support them.

Anybody tried this game?

Re: What SEGA games do you want to see on the Virtual Console?

brooks83

@KnucklesSonic8: Thanks for clearing that up, I wasn't aware SEGA was officially involved in this. From the article it made it seem like they were gonna send the list to SEGA whether they want it or not, but I am very glad to hear that SEGA is taking this seriously. Now to come up with a list

Re: Ys Book I & II

brooks83

It's fairly long, Ys II is longer than the first one. In my case, there were a few times when I got stuck and it took me awhile to figure out what to do. But even if I knew what to do right away it would still take awhile to beat.

@141. Stuffgamer1

You do make a good point in your first paragraph about how companies not wanting to wait for their games to be released is a result of Nintendo's policies. However, I also think that having every game that's readily available at once is a bad idea, because then people would just buy up the games they have heard of and ignore the ones they haven't. I like the idea of every game getting a weekly spotlight.

But there should definately be a happy medium here. If Nintendo would go back to releasing three games a week (or heck, even two), people would be a lot happier. I know that people will complain no matter what, but when they put out new systems on the VC and barely support them, that's not a good thing. We should have had at least one new VC Arcade game by now.

Re: Prepare To Gnash Those Teeth: Perfect Dark May Be XBLA-bound

brooks83

I saw this coming so I'm not too dissapointed. Not that I can afford either, but I need to decide what to get to go with my Wii. Either a 360 or PS3. If Sony would pick up their pace on the PSOne classics, I would lean towards the PS3, but as it stands X360 is releasing the best classic games on XBLA.
