I guess this kinda proves that Nintendo is not against translating import games, it's just the developers don't want to put the effort into it. This is very cool on Sega's part.
This game doesn't deserve a 9 because Super Metroid came out afterwards? Both are somewhat in the same genre, but they are completely different games. I've never heard such strange logic.
Anybody know if Jaleco is only supporting Europe now? It seems Europe has had Rival Turf and E.D.F for a while now, but then again it took us a while to get Super Bonk in America too so maybe I am just being impatient.
Not sure why people would think this was an April Fool's joke. But this is a game I will be downloading if and when it hits North America, translated or not.
@Tasuki - Ah, I see. I guess I should replay the game and get a refresher on the story before commenting lol. As good as this game is though, I still feel that FFVII is slightly better. I have not played any FF game since FFVIII, as I felt that game was utter garbage.
I'll be honest, I haven't played FFVII since it first came out almost fifteen years ago, so I don't remember too much about Sephiroth. But from what I remember he seemed to have human qualities, he didn't just want to be evil just because. Kefka just seemed too over the top to be believable. I suppose the comparison to The Joker and he just wanted to watch the world burn is a good comparison, but personally I just wanted to see more motive than that.
I never understood why people think Kefka is a better villain than Sephiroth. To me, Kefka is pretty generic with no motive behind his actions. Just evil for evil's sake. Which works, but I would have liked to see him fleshed out a little more. It's still a fantastic game though.
Well you have to remember back a couple of years ago there were games announced for a certain day and then Nintendo changed them at the last minute. I don't remember the game but I think it was a Capcom game.
@Vinsanity - I remember when Gametap was a really cool service. I don't know what's on there now, but I remember they had several 32X games including Knuckles Chaotix and several Commodore 64 games.
@58 - Yeah "ThatGuyFromFaxanadu" got the game weeks ago, but there is an American user that has a Faxanadu related name "NotEnoughGolds" that hasn't commented yet.
@LimeLight - I fully expect all the VC games available now to still be there when the next Nintendo console comes out. I bet Nintendo made agreements to retain the rights to distribute the games even if the company goes under (Factor 5 games are still available for download).
Awesome! This is a game I never got a chance to play when I was younger. I'm really happy Jaleco is giving the VC a second chance. They must have finally made a profit on the games they put up in 2007 lol.
One of my all time favorite games. If you are on the fence about this one, just go for it. If for whatever reason you don't like it (which I can not think of a good reason to not like this game) you will only be out 5 bucks.
Capcom has a big lineup of VC Arcade games set to release next year, but Konami has been MIA since Dracula X and no word of any further VC support. I was also just gonna say what you said about Bubble Bobble 2, I'd love to see that on the VC just because I'll never get to play it unless I emulate it.
@Bass - You've been here long enough to know that once you think you find a pattern in Nintendo's VC releases, they change it up. At this point I don't think they really even have a pattern.
@Bass I haven't played it in years either, but I believe it's a mixture of both. You do level up to become stronger but you also buy stronger weapons and spells.
Amazing game, well worth 5 bucks. If I didn't already have the cart I would buy it. Heck, I may still buy it just for the convenience of having it on the Wii. Save states would be much easier than writing down the 30 character passwords lol.

Re: SEGA Announces More Virtual Console Titles for Wii
It also says in the article that Super Hang-On is confirmed for Western release.

Re: SEGA Announces More Virtual Console Titles for Wii
I had a feeling we would see a Wonder Boy arcade game eventually lol.
Re: MDK2
Murder Death Kill
Re: Nintendo Download: 9th May 2011 (North America)
I'll wait for the review, but my guess is it will be a broken, crippled port of the Dreamcast game due to the size limit. I'm not too excited.
Re: Nintendo Drops Wii to $149.99 and Launches Budget Games
Maybe I'll pick up Zelda and Animal Crossing. The packaging isn't THAT bad.
Re: Review: Mega Man X (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)
@Capt N - If I were you I would just get some more points now and get MMX. Who knows how long it will take for MM5 to get here.
Re: Review: Mega Man X (Virtual Console / Super Nintendo)

Re: Nintendo Download: 18th April 2011 (North America)
Nothing for me here as I have the Mega Man X Collection, but this is still a great addition to the VC.
Re: Rumour: Wii 2 has Blu-ray Drive, Controller Contains a Screen
@Otaku - No, it's as powerful as the original Xbox.
Re: Super NES Classic Controller Visits Australian Club Nintendo
I think Nintendo should release NES, N64, Genesis and TG16 classic controllers as well. I know I would buy them.

Re: Nintendo Download: 1st April 2011 (Europe)
I wonder if Jaleco is only supporting the European VC. We still haven't gotten Rival Turf or E.D.F.
Re: Monster World IV Coming to Virtual Console in Europe
Let's hope it comes to the American VC as well.
Re: Chrono Trigger is Coming to Virtual Console in Japan
I can't wait for them to release E.V.O. on the VC.

Re: Square Enix Brings More SNES Goodies to Virtual Console
I thought it was Taito that was publishing Lufia on the VC? Either way, I'm just glad we are getting it.
Re: Scratch That, There's Three Adventure Island Games Coming to Virtual Console
The first Super Adventure Island came out before ESRB ratings, so it wasn't replaced. It never existed until now.
Re: Game Gear and TurboGrafx-16 Coming to 3DS Virtual Console
Might as well re-release Genesis games, since there was a portable Genesis called a Nomad.
Re: Monster World IV Comes Westward, Finally
@Vinsanity - I remember when Gametap was a really cool service. I don't know what's on there now, but I remember they had several 32X games including Knuckles Chaotix and several Commodore 64 games.

Re: Bomberman Hero Gets Rated for Virtual Console
What's that I feel inside? Excitement? Over the VC? It's been too long!
Re: Hudson Continues Its Virtual Console Support with Adventure Island II
I'd like to see more than one game announced, but at this point I'll take what I can get.

Re: Features: Games That Should Already Be on Virtual Console
I'd love to see them bring the original Doki Doki Panic over as an import.
Re: Review: S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team (Virtual Console / NES)
Scatman Crothers was the black guy in The Shining as well.
Re: Review: S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team (Virtual Console / NES)
If the Scatman can do it, brother so can you!
Re: Japan Getting Online Multiplayer for a Virtual Console Title
Leave it to Sega to try and spice up the stale Virtual Console.
Re: Review: Exed Exes (Virtual Console / Virtual Console Arcade)
@SuperToad - I think Ghosts N Goblins is pretty grand.
Re: Nintendo Download: 10th January 2011 (North America)
Capcom and Disney Interactive released games today, now if we can just get them to work together to bring out some of their old licensed games!
Re: Nintendo Download: 7th January 2011 (Europe)
As soon as GnG comes to America I will download it.
Re: Nintendo Download: 7th January 2011 (Europe)
@Alfred ENG -
Not sure why you think Capcom wouldn't release their games for Game Room. They put up Final Fight on XBLA not long ago.

Re: Brawl Brothers
I remember seeing this game at Blockbuster. Never played it though. Anybody know if it's better than Rival Turf?
Re: Natsume Championship Wrestling
Maybe this will inspire Nintendo to finally release Pro Wrestling.

@Stuff
Wow, that's crazy. Did you get it when it first came out? I would be really tempted to sell it if I was you lol
Re: Taito's Trademark Applications Suggest the Return of SNES Titles
@Stuffgamer
Do you seriously have a copy of Bubble Bobble 2 for the NES?
Re: Taito's Trademark Applications Suggest the Return of SNES Titles
@Betelgeuse

The VC needs more obscure games like this.

@Bass
I haven't played it in years either, but I believe it's a mixture of both. You do level up to become stronger but you also buy stronger weapons and spells.
Re: Faxanadu
I think they will leave the smoking guy in. They will probably reference it in the ESRB rating.
Re: Commando
I'd like to see the NES version too.

Re: Nintendo Download: 13 September 2010 (North America)
Wow, I totally forgot about it being Nintendo Dowload day. Looks like I didn't miss anything.
