I was excited until I read it's going to basically be an entirely different game. I thought I had read somewhere a while back that the original game was basically finished.

I could have sworn I read somewhere that the developers decided to wait on releasing the game due to all the negative feedback on the visuals, but maybe I'm thinking of a different game. In any case, this game looks fun to me so when I get my Wii U I will download it.

Acclaim only published the first two games as on home consoles as far as I know. Midway/Williams developed them.

Nice bundle, but the fact that it's not 299 is going to hurt sales.

Alien Trilogy on PS1.

I'm curious to know how the emulation on SMB3 is. The Wii version had some ugly washed out colors.

I would have bought it at 500. 1000 is a bit too steep.

I have Rondo of Blood on the Wii VC, but I am still curious to try Dracula X. It's the only classic Castlevania I haven't played.

I'm hoping Flying Hamster II makes it, but it doesn't look likely. After watching the video, Twisted Fusion does look kind of cool.

Are these the first PC Engine games to come to the Japanese Wii U VC? This is a good sign that they might come to the west again, hopefully with better emulation this time. The first few TG16 games on the Wii VC had a really bad filter on them.

Dunno if it was mentioned elsewhere, but Super Turrican 2 was removed. Super Turrican and Mega Turrican are still up though, so get them while you still can.

@geonhaja - You hit the nail on the head. I remember how awful it was back on the original Wii for VC games to slowly trickle in, and now the same thing is happening on Wii U. By the time a decent VC library gets built up, it will be time for Nintendo's next console to come out. It seems to me that the sooner Nintendo gets these VC games out, the sooner they can make money off of them, but what do I know.

Did Nintendo say DS games would come to the Wii U? The article says so, but I don't recall hearing that anywhere else.

Will there be online multiplayer this time?

BTW, Jak II and Crash Kart Racing are great games, but I'm sure you can't acknowledge that since they aren't on a Nintendo console

Nintendo is doing what they want, and the Wii U is selling very poorly. Telling someone who is upset about the $8 price for a GBA game to "make more money" is just laughable.

I have over 100 VC/Wiiware games downloaded on my Wii, so I think I have given Nintendo enough money to state my opinion here. I am happy GBA games are coming to the Wii U, but as far as the VC goes, it's always two steps forward, one step back. It doesn't appear there is an option to make the GBA games brighter, they really look too dark. Not to mention the lack of multiplayer is really a bummer. They could have a dedicated server to host all VC games to play online. Or they could do splitscreen on the TV to emulate two GBAs like Sega did with Game Gear games in the past. Had they done something like that, I probably would be set to get a Wii U now, but Nintendo always does the bare minimum. Their atrocious handling of the VC is what's made me hesitant to buy a Wii U. And like others have pointed out, what's with the NES games on Wii U, Nintendo? They looked fine on the Wii.

Nintendo is sitting on a goldmine of classic games, why is it that they are screwing up the VC so bad? Oh my bad, they gave us customizable controls this time around...

Nintendo, I need a reason to purchase the Wii U over your competitor's offerings...

So do the passwords work on this version? The ones that were cut from the Wii and 3DS versions.

At this point in the Wii's lifecycle, there were probably over a hundred games on the VC. This is absolutely pathetic.

I'd love to see a VC release of this.

And how many VC games have you downloaded, dragon_rider? Are you putting your money where your mouth is? I'd be willing to bet you and everyone else here would download even more games if they were $1 or $2 cheaper.

I think the prices were ok during the Wii's lifetime, but these games are now a generation older. As a retro gaming enthusiast, I will still buy the games at the prices they are now, but many gamers may not. I mean, you can buy PS1 games on PSN for $5.99 (with a handful of exceptions), which is $.99 more than an NES game on the VC.

Here's hoping Nintendo will implement sales from time to time on VC games.

We've been saying these things for years. Nintendo will never change.

They should have a big presentation to "re-launch" the Wii U. "Hey everyone, we also have a new console!"

I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing. I mean the PS4 and 720 are gonna be the focus this year no matter what, but especially with the Wii U struggling, people may see this as Nintendo giving up. I'm not sure what Nintendo is thinking these days. I hope it works out for them...

@Kellx - Or they could make money from Earthbound NOW and please the fans at the same time. Sounds like a win win to me.
