I've bought enough games with the false hope that my purchase will make more releases happen. I will no longer buy a VC game for that reason alone anymore. However, Ufouria does look interesting and I was unaware that it was an import game. Was it Europe only, or was it released in Japan at 60hz?
I remember when I was a kid I was at FuncoLand and I had the choice between Gradius III and E.D.F. I chose Gradius III. E.D.F. does look pretty cool though.
I'm not into the emulation scene but I'd be willing to bet that there is already a rom available of this game online. If regular computer hobbyists can get a rom of this working, why can't Natsume?
I saw the game at Movie Trading Company for 5.99 the other day, I may go pick it up. I used to own it when I was a kid, but it was one of the few games I've ever sold.
If the game hadn't been delayed, I would have had a better chance of winning the contest. They extended the contest until the game actually came out, so a lot more people were able to register. Oh well.
@Stuffgamer1 - Frankly I don't think they are trying to win third parties back as far as VC goes. They've got enough little developers on WiiWare churning out shovelware to keep them profitable.
For all intents and purposes, the VC is dead folks. Nothing to see here. Sure, we may see the occasional game here and there, but the VC will never be what it once was.
I will get this because of nostalgia. When I was in middle school my dad would always take me and my sister to the arcade and I always loved playing Gunblade NY.
I've been wanting to play this game ever since I heard about it about 12 years ago. At that time I even considered buying an import PC Engine just for this game. Well all these years later I am finally able to play this game, and it is a dream come true. This game is epic. Outstanding. Simply amazing. Everything I thought it would be and more. Words really can't express how cool it is to finally be able to play such a long lost classic such as this. Worth every penny of the 900 points, and possibly even worth buying a Wii just to play this game in it's original form. 10/10
I put the tounge emoticon on there because my original comment about 2015 was basically meant to show that it will take a long time to get to 500, and wasn't meant to be a factual date. Wasn't meant to be mean or anything, just joking around. And now that you mention it, the emoticon does look a little strange lol.
@jangonov - it has the 2003 copyright on the title screen because for whatever reason they used the version that appeared on the Zelda collectors disc for Gamecube instead of the NES version. They didn't change the screen just for the VC.
@SKTTR - I'm sure you will just get the American version. I actually kinda thought they would change it to IV though, that way people would know that the WiiWare game The After Years is a continuation of the story.
@Teyon: I was just wondering if you guys are pleased with the responce to Hubert the Teddy Bear. I picked it up and thought it was well worth my 500 points.
@Ezekiel - While this game is certainly light-hearted, it still can be challenging and I guarantee there will be parts where you will be stumped about what to do next. The whole premise of the game is silly, but that's what gives it it's charm. When you meet characters named "Wat Mel" and "Hon Dew" you just can't help but smile.
Yeah this is a great update. I am gonna get Princess Tomato, even though I already own the cart, to support Hudson and to encourage more obscure games on the VC. I also wanna get Hubert and probably Bloons. BMO looks good as well, but I think I will put that one off for a little while as I have barely played the NES version which I downloaded back in December.
EDIT: I may even pick up another Hudson NES title to show my appreciation of them bringing Princess Tomato to the VC. I honestly thought that game would never come to the VC even with Hudson's strong support. I'll probably pick up Adventure Island or Lode Runner.
If I didn't already have the regular edition I would consider getting the limited edition. While it's sad that the studio closed down, I'm sure the employees will be alright. Looking at Cursed Mountain, it's clear they are all very talented and would be a great asset to any other developer.

Back to Fire Emblem for me.
Re: Grab a Cheap Wii at Target This Week
I think it's finally time to buy another Wiimote.

Re: Harvest Moon 64 Will Not Sprout on Virtual Console
@Bakajin Hmm, you may be right. I'll have to look that up.
Re: Harvest Moon 64 Will Not Sprout on Virtual Console
@natendo It might be a pain, but you can replace the battery in the cart.
Re: Nintendo Download: 9th August 2010 (North America)
I don't think this massage game will have a happy ending
Re: Rival Turf!
So we are getting more Jaleco games? Awesome
Re: Nintendo Download: 2nd August 2010 (North America)
Time to hit up the retro store and buy some games that Nintendo could be putting on the VC but won't. Your loss Nintendo.

Re: Nintendo Download: 19th July 2010 (North America)
I've downloaded 41 VC games Chris, how about you?
Re: Nintendo Download: 19th July 2010 (North America)
Oh well, I bought Goldeneye for 5 bucks yesterday, so I'm ok. Keep it up Nintendo!
Re: Nintendo Download: 13th & 14th July 2010 (Japan)
Japan has the right idea. VC should be the main focus. Outside of a handful of games, WiiWare is a big dissapointment, as I knew it would be.
Re: Nintendo Download: 5th July 2010 (North America)
@Tasuki - Eh, I've moved on. Nintendo doesn't have to say anything, their actions (or lack thereof) say more than enough.

Re: Furry Legends Delayed in North America
Darnit, the longer the contest is open the worse my chances of winning are
Re: Aero the Acro-Bat
It is a cool game, but it was pretty hard from what I remember, and the controls were kind of bad. But overall I think the game is pretty good.
Re: Sid Meier's Pirates! Pillaging Its Way Onto Wii
Isn't it possible that this could be a VC release of the MegaDrive version?

Re: Review: Wonder Momo (Virtual Console / TurboGrafx-16)
While I love these import reviews, I just have to wonder how many of us here actually have a Japanese Wii to access these games...

Re: Nintendo Download: 15th March 2010 (North America)
Well, at about 50 games a year give or take, if you want to get technical it would be more like 2012-2013. Still, it's a long ways off
Re: Nintendo Download: 15th March 2010 (North America)
@SilverBlacktail - 500th VC game? That won't be til about 2015 lol.
Re: Nintendo Download: 15th March 2010 (North America)
They can now stop adding games to the VC and I wouldn't care anymore.
Re: Review: Calling (Wii)
@Donatello - I would put Cursed Mountain into the worth buying section.
Re: Nintendo Download: 12th March 2010 (Europe)
@Mario Party Fan 999 - I thought Australians could change their region settings and buy games from the European shop?
Re: Nintendo Download: 8th March 2010 (North America)
@Namo - Hmm, that's strange. I wonder if all Namco's VC games are like that.

It's nice to see EU catch up with some NES games that NA has had for years.
Re: Review: Fatal Fury Special (Virtual Console / Neo Geo)
@Bass - What did you dislike about this game, and how much of the game was unlocked in the demo version?
Re: Review: Fatal Fury Special (Virtual Console / Neo Geo)
I just downloaded this game. If you like the old street fighter games you will definately like this one
Re: Review: Dart Rage (WiiWare)
Yay JV Games!
Re: Nintendo Download 1st March 2010 (North America)
Tempted to pick up Fatal Fury Special to encourage more Neo Geo games.

I can't believe you didn't mention the one song being repeated over and over throughout the entire game lol.
Re: Nintendo Download: 8th February 2010 (North America)
I am glad to see blaster master overdrive in the top 20 already. I will buy it one of these days

Re: Nintendo Download: 8th February 2010 (North America)
Yay!!! Everyone download princess tomato, you won't regret it!
Re: Blaster Master: Overdrive Coming to WiiWare on Monday
Well this is good news, but I was really hoping their big announcement was going to be a new VC game...
