Re: Super Bomberman R Online Is Ditching Its Stadia Exclusivity To Launch On Switch And Other Consoles

@KayFiOS if you want to play on your tv you need a Chromecast Ultra and Stadia controller. Currently that bundle is available for €60/£52. If you want to play on Chrome browser on PC, android tablet or Android phone you can use any controller you already own. Just download the Stadia app on phones and tablets or go to www.stadia.com for browser play. You can play Bomberman R and Destiny 2 right now for free if you sign in on the website. No purchases necessary. Use your Switch Pro Controller if you have one.

Re: Epic Games Buys Mediatonic, The Studio Behind Fall Guys

@COVIDberry I load up Rocket League. I get a pop up at the start to buy something. I click and it goes away. Proceed to menus, setup my game, play game for 5 minutes. At the end of game I win a skin or whatever and another link maybe to buy something. I click skip.

So that's twice in over 5 minutes I've had the inconvenience of having to press A. Not bad for a game that cost a lot of people literally nothing to play.

@Dang69 Personally I think Salmon Run is fine but not overly bothered by it. Much prefer Tower and Splatzones.
Increased number of maps in rotation and new modes would be great. Would love a big map for a battle-royale style mode , have a load of players all fighting to be the last squid standing. Or maybe a perma-death mode where you can take a lot more damage before you get killed but once you die your gone. Will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Re: Cloud Gaming Service Google Stadia Shuts Down Internal Development Studios

@iulis84 Don't see how. Stadia just isn't making their own games. They're still releasing games, new games at that. TV's are starting to come with Stadia built in this year. Hardly seems like a smart thing to do if the platform is no more.
People seem to think a studio shutting down equals a platform shutting down. They're very different things.

Re: Cloud Gaming Service Google Stadia Shuts Down Internal Development Studios

@RasandeRose yep you can still buy games on Wii U. When was the last time it had a new release though? Stadia is getting new games all the time. They released over 100 games last year on the platform with plans to release more than that this year. Which is unusual for a dead platform.

@Ventilator people are set in their ways. If Stadia doesn't interest someone, that's fine. It's all the people who have never tried it or still think it's a subscription service but post stuff like "input lag blah blah blah" or "Stadia just doesnt work".
Just because it doesn't work well for one person, doesn't mean another person won't have a great experience with it.

@1UP_MARIO this.

Played the test demo. Runs great. As good as the Control one that I bought before. Very hard to notice a difference between it and a local game. But Hitman games just aren't for me. Played 1 and 2 a bit on Stadia as they were free but I just didn't click with them.

Re: Soapbox: Video Game Injuries Are No Laughing Matter

Sorry to hear about your injury. I work a lot with mouse and keyboard for my job and definitely after a few hours each day I need to stretch my hands and wrists to keep them from completely giving up on me. It's not easy. I only get to game for maybe an hour each day so I feel my work day is probably doing more damage than my gaming time.

Re: Review: Hitman 3 - Cloud Version - Not Perfect, But Perfectly Playable

blockfight

I have converted 6 of my 7 gamer friends to Stadia in the last 3 months. Most of these would be gaming every day, most have the Switch. When some of the big games came out towards the end of the year they wanted to play them without dropping €500 on a new console. I'd be plugging stadia to them for months and they all finally cracked and got cyberpunk at Christmas. They've all since bought other games.
There is definitely a market for people who just want to play games and don't give a crap about "owning" it. As long as they can play with minimum fuss they are happy. Also a lot of the gang have kids now and don't want to have to deal with patches, console updates etc. Just buy game, click play, go.

A question for the reviewer @PJOReilly :

Will every cloud version review of a game that comes to Switch have a "con" at the end saying "Performance relies on a solid internet connection"? Given that you're streaming the game I would have thought this was just known. Seems like a harsh thing to criticise a game for something that is out of the games control.
