@mariomaster96 I feel you and it's definitely my anticipated game for next year but let's face it, after the reveal that this is not an open-world BoTW style game, Legends Arceus suddenly became a wasted potential for many people who have been waiting.
Anyway, RE8, Tales of Arise and MH Rise got my vote. I wish Ender Lillies was also nominated for at least best indie game and art direction. That game is such an underrated gem for this year.
Not the biggest fan of ES series nor any Bethesda games but Xbox does need to grow its library of exclusives if it wants to compete with PlayStation and Nintendo. At the end of the day, it's exclusives that sells the consoles. PS wouldn't be without God of War, HZD, Uncharted, etc. and Nintendo wouldn't be without Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, etc. Xbox, while they have some notable IPs, they really aren't doing as great as their competitors. This year may be the year for Xbox, and not just because it's their 20th anniversary, but because of their recent titles like Horza and Halo. This might be the year Xbox will compete for the GoTY as it has usually been Sony and Nintendo for the past years. Having Bethesda under their ecosystem can help expand their exclusive library further.
Can we at least get Persona 4 Golden on Switch? Anyway, this is good for those who don't own a Switch and/or want to experience the game in the best way possible
Boy am I glad that I skipped on buying this "Definitive edition". On the trailer, it doesn't look all that bad and quite serviceable but seeing all those bugs and glitches made me want to skip this even the physical copy. At least until Rockstar fixes all the issue but until then, a big no for me.
Also, that comparison made the Vita mod look far superior while the Switch version looked like a poorly modded GTA game
@ModdedInkling I feel like Nintendo is satisfied with how Ultimate is and I can kinda see them just adding some of those in SSBU if they port the game to their next system, like new assist trophies and Mii costumes. Provided that they want to add new characters, I can only see them adding 1st party characters.
Assuming that they are thinking of making a bigger Smash game than Ultimate, I feel like it's going to be a lot harder to pull considering the 3rd party licensing. It's already a miracle that Sakurai was able to get Sora added. That Mickey emblem alone likely costed Nintendo a fortune. I guess if they do want to top up Ultimate then we won't be seeing it in a long while and not without Sakurai involved. Provided that Sakurai is willing to give the next Smash project to their younger devs, they'll have difficulties surpassing Ultimate's legacy.
It's going to be hard to top SSBU. The game really sets the bar way too high. They can just port the game to the next Nintendo system with minor tweaks and call it a day. Sakurai also earned that long rest though it's possible that he's already thinking of the future of Smash even if he doesn't outright say it. Provided that Nintendo does want to continue Smash, I think it's going to be a while before we see an announcement for the next Smash and as mentioned, they can just port SSBU on the next system without having to worry about a sequel.
Played all GTA games but sadly, never had the chance to finish all three. I'll wait for a physical copy in December. I'm in no rush and my November is already dedicated to Pokémon BDSP
@GannonBanned Definitely great for what they were back in those days but I'd love to see the games run smoothly on Switch. Still not a major loss if the games just ends up 30fps on Switch. I still plan on getting the trilogy on Switch this December
This actually look impressive than what I expected. But the question now is will each game support 60fps on the Switch? I know PS and Xbox will both get 60fps 4k support but what about Switch? Not expecting 4k support but just a decent 60fps. Anyway, November will be dedicated to Pokémon BDSP so I'll wait for a physical copy on December
So far, I have Joker, Terry, Sephiroth, Piranha plant and Pyra/Mythra. Planning to add Sora soon obviously, as well as Eleven and Min min while I'm at it
Eh, I think people should just give up on Persona 5 at this point. The Persona series is pretty much a Sony known IP, at least the main games and Nintendo has the SMT on their side. Not saying that Persona won't come to Switch or any future Nintendo consoles but I think it's already a little too late for a P5 port.
I'm still down for any Tales series to be ported. Symphonia and Graces should be ported considering both were released on Gamecube and Wii (with PS3 port) respectively. I also want to see the other Fatal Frame games to be ported on the Switch. Also, the two Rune Factory on the Wii would be dope and I'd love to see Harvest Moon a wonderful life get an HD remake and call it Story of Seasons a wonderful life
A little too expensive tbh. Who knows, maybe it will be reasonable down the line when they add more games to their N64 library. I don't see the expanded subscription that worth it, even with the Animal Crossing dlc being added. Maybe valuable to the AC players but if you don't play the game that much like me (or doesn't play the game at all), it's just not worth the upgrade
EDIT: Maybe add the SwSh expansion, as well as the Pokémon Home subscription and maybe it will be worth it for me
I got the classic neon colors. Was supposed to get the white ones but the store from where I bought mine ran out of stocks unfortunately. Still happy with my purchase tho.
On one hand, I don't want a free-to-play gacha Megaman X game on the Switch. On the other hand, we need a new Megaman X game on the Switch and this might be the closest we could possibly get at this time
@Piritiup "It literally looks like they took an emptier version of the BOTW world, and added some cartoonish looking building that look out of place, with some janky ass animation."
Really sad that BoTW has set the bar way too high for you to compare them both. And that cartoonish style has been the style of Pokémon (Not that BoTW has a very realistic artstyle as well, mind you). And that janky animation was already addressed in the 2nd trailer anyways.
But hey, if you are willing to defend a company that sucks people's money with their loot boxes and microtransactions while paying full price with barely any changes every year it gets released then it's up to you. Let your wallet do the talking.
Honestly, I think people are way too hard on GF for the past years. Do I think their games need more polishing? Yes. Do they need to meet the same level of BoTW? Not necessarily. Have they done something new to break traditions? Definitely. Sun and Moon broke the traditional Gym battles, SwSH gave us wild area to explore, complete with camera controls, breaking the linearity of the older games. And thanks to that, we now have a game that seem like it will be full of wild areas, albeit being broken into multiple sections.
@westman98 I actually won't be surprised if people get disappointed that it doesn't play like TLOU (okay, a bit of an exaggeration there) but yeah, I can imagine that situation
Totally expected and I'm honestly okay with this just as long as they give us plenty of activities and side quests. I think people should have had that expectation since the last trailer but nope, gotta compare it to BoTW's standards I guess
3rd episode is not as good as the Alola one but I'm glad to see Serena in the anime again (plus she looks good in that artstyle). I'm hoping she appears in Journeys soon.
Until now, I'm still amazed that Smash can get this big in terms of roster. Mad respect to Sakurai and his team. There won't be a game of this caliber for a while.
Give me actual ports and not just something that can be played via cloud service. KH3 I can understand but the Switch should be able to run the previous titles. I'd much prefer to have a physical copy on hand. Heck, I'd take a digital download only but never cloud service. Until then, I'm sticking to my KH collection on my PS4. Damn, this is what I dreaded since I saw the RE7 cloud service some years ago.
Nothing surprising there. Sakurai just loves gaming as a whole like every average joe out there. Also, no. I don't think this is a "hint" or whatsoever that we'll be getting a Playstation fighter (Ratchet and Clank and/or Spike from Ape Escape would be dope though)
It's not surprising that Nintendo will deny the claim. After all, they are focused on the OLED model's launch. No doubt that they might be working on a newer model, maybe a next-gen successor, which, IMO, we won't be seeing anytime soon.
I might get I am Setsuna and Oninaki. I've heard that the port of Crystal Chronicles was bad if you want to play multiplayer but I might get that as well since I prefer playing in single player
Somehow, it was similar to the Playstation showcase, weak start but it got better halfway through. Honestly, not too many games got me excited here but the confirmation of N64 plus Sega Genesis was great, I hope we get Pokémon Stadium added soon. The supposed Castlevania collection were finally revealed and even better, it launched sooner. Looking forward to that new Kirby game as well. Wasn't really into Bayonetta 3 since the first two games never really interested me but I'm happy for those who have been waiting since 2017.
Lately, I've been playing more tales games like Vesperia, Symphonia and Xillia after the release of Arise. I'm hoping for more Tales games ported to Switch
Games launching this Winter mostly so not expecting many new game announcements but I have confidence with Nintendo directs since there's always one surprise out there that no one can predict.
I remember seeing Klonoa on a Playstation magazine and liking him. Unfortunately, I never played any of the Klonoa games until some years later. I liked the Wii remake of the first game and I'd love to play all of the Klonoa games on the Switch
What's with the sudden obsession of having to compare this to Pokémon? Like, I get it, GF is falling behind in terms of graphics but really? This game doesn't even look like a Pokémon game. Heck, I've said this on a different article but I'll say it again, this look more like Splatoon mixed with Jet-Set Radio. Heck, BoTW doesn't have this level of detail and also an open-world game so why not compare it to that? (not throwing any shades to BoTW or anything mind you)

Re: Gabe Newell: Pricing Valve's Switch-Like Steam Deck Was "Painful"
Only time will tell if this will be a huge success or failure. At the end of the day, if people, especially PC gamers would want to play AAA titles, then they'd stick with their high-end PC. You also got to think of what made the Switch special, and those are exclusive games. Yes, you get a lot of games on Steam and maybe more outside of it but how many of those are similar to that of Mario, Zelda, Smash Bros., Pokémon, something that Switch has. Yes, emulators will be a thing here but still, if you want to officially support Nintendo games, you have to go with the Switch.
