Re: Super Mario RPG Released in Japan Today

Viral

I for one think that Super Mario RPG is better than Paper Mario, however, Thousand Year Door blows them both away in story and epic-ness. Personally, I think that Japan got an excellent week and they had it coming though. In the end though, we'll all get this title, Super Mario RPG will be globally released EVENTUALLY, just patience is a virtue to some, not to others.

Re: US VC Releases - 23rd June - Alex Kidd in Miracle World

Viral

Even if Nintendo released Super Mario All Stars, it'd still sell because they removed Super Mario Bros : Lost Levels from Europe! That's the only reason I'd buy it not as I already downloaded the previous Mario games. And besides, a good week is this : Getting 3 games, 1 game being 4-5 stars, the others don't care because as long as you're getting one playable game that's decent, then odds are, you're in a good week. If you get Superman 64 in one week and that's your only title, that's a bad week.

Just because the following said games have the words "Square" or "RPG" in it, doesn't necessarily make it a good game. Square has put out some mediocre games in it's time. I, for one, would personally love to see a compilation disc for the Square library of Final Fantasy 1 to 6, which is easily doable on the Nintendo Wii. Square would never do such a thing because the previously released game versions of them on the GBA and DS would fall in value so quickly unless you're a graphics whore, then the DS version may appeal to you.

Re: EU VC Releases - 20th June - Epic Fail

I think that this site needs a vote for a game you think deserves to be on VC, have like a top most wanted games (make it like, 20 games long because you know people are going to over-vote for Earthbound, SMRPG, Chrono Trigger, ect. It'd be unique to see what makes it to 6-20!

Re: EU VC Releases - 20th June - Epic Fail

Mazero, the reason they complain about certain collections is because the controller used for that collection, ie : Gamecube for Mega Man Anniversary Collection or Mega Man X Collection...same goes for Metal Slug Anthology using the Wii-Remote. It's blasphemy to some, tolerable to others. It's all about preference. That's why some are whinging. And Brawl isn't being bought until the storage solution for us because where am I going to put that beast of a save file? My wife and I watched the preview for it on Nintendo Channel and were debating whether we should get it or not... Oh, and yippy for me for realising my GC games from America work on my European Wii using the Freeloader, all is not lost.

Re: Nintendo Channel Gets An Update

Viral

I don't keep Miis on my Wii any longer than necessary. My daughter is two and she has her own Mii and everytime she sees her Mii on Wii Fit or Tv Show King, she's always shouting Me!!! Other than that, this isn't too big of an update. The only thing I was wondering is how big exactly, is the SMB file and how big do you think the Alone In The Dark file may be?

Re: OFLC Update - Super Mario RPG On Its Way To Europe

Viral

I agree Cally. SMRPG is a breeze of a game compared to others. I think that if SMRPG will come to Europe though, others such as Earthbound will follow. And I do believe, serious fellas and lady (Rexy), that Mother will follow suit as well as other rare import gems like Fire Emblem (the originals) and if we're lucky, we may even see some original Gameboy cartridge games and Gameboy Color games. Who's with me on having those come? Zelda : Oracle of Ages and Seasons anyone?

Re: US VC Release - 16th June - Samurai Shodown

Viral

And for those who are whinging about the single release, be thankful, they could've not given you a single release at all. It's 1 less game to wait for. Does anyone know when Zombies Ate My Neighbors is coming?

Re: US VC Release - 16th June - Samurai Shodown

Viral

I don't know. The anthology is probably a better deal in the long run considering how much Wii Points cost. The hard drive solution is going to be simple enough. Maybe they'll just make a Firmware update that allows you to hook up an external storage device, Nintendo made or not. It'd be cooler if Nintendo could create a way to drag and drop channels too, considering those who have to delete and download new titles. I had to delete 6 games for 1 WiiWare title...And about the angels getting their wings, they've just notified me that if we keep saying the dreaded "s" word, that they'll be more wings than angels to use them...

Re: OFLC Update - Super Mario RPG On Its Way To Europe

Viral

You know, it'd be kind of cool if Nintendo and Square released a new RPG, involving a way for most of Nintendo's characters to meet under an extreme circumstance, like, Samus meeting Mario, or Link...And having them team up would be cool. Or even a Mario game that's Zelda-esque, where Mario's fire flower ability lights torches. Samus's grapple beam allows her to jump gaps, ect. Mixing genres could work depending if you have the right characters for it!

Re: OFLC Update - Super Mario RPG On Its Way To Europe

Super Mario RPG is definitely worth downloading, even though the difficulty is debatable. It depends on how far you're willing to go in any RPG for the difficulty factor. Culex is not a walk in the park, however, the more times I've played the game, the easier he's become, much like Ruby Weapon in FF7.

Re: EU - 6th June - No Virtual Console Games!

Viral

Also, to add to my previous VC comment :

Earthbound is Wii-Bound :

The ESRB, the American game ratings board, has recently rated SNES game Earthbound, meaning it's due to be released on the American VC very soon (and may already be out by the time you read this). Given the demand here for the game, which was never released in the UK, we'd bet on it appearing here soon as well.

That's quoted in the ONM as well.

And on a side note to all getting Brawl, screw that, I'm waiting for a storage solution, until then, Alone In The Dark will keep me entertained.

Re: EU - 6th June - No Virtual Console Games!

Bricked...what a name. Eventually Nintendo will be generous and release a system restore disc for those who have been bricked...lol... I have good news for you all. This is an important message so read :

The source is ONM in England :

Steve Jarratt, long-time Nintendo gamer and mag editor shares his thoughts on the Wii download services :

"if you've got a broadband connection, the only thing preventing you from buying the next Super Mario game online is the Wii's meagre 512 MB of internal flash RAM. Fortunately Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has acknowledged that internal memory is a problem and that they are currently working on a solution, so perhaps we'll see the much-rumoured Wii hard drive after all - let's hope so."

Now, this was printed in ONM for June 2008. I do believe E3 is scheduled for 15-17 July 2008. I hope this helps everyone who's worried about space. Also, the magazine mentions a few other things but they're non-VC/Wii-Ware related.

Re: EU - 6th June - No Virtual Console Games!

I don't know...I feel like there's a clone of a clone of a clone for FPS...Halo 1 > Halo 2 > Halo 3? MGS1 < MGS : TS > MGS2 > MGS 3 > MGS4.
The only difference is graphics...I may be comparing non-Nintendo games, but it's just a point. I can't wait for PS5 (see Youtube)

Re: EU - 6th June - No Virtual Console Games!

Viral

Personally, I think we could've gotten one game this week. I mean, how hard will it be to get one game setup. Besides, for all those who want to save money FROM the Virtual Console, buy Zelda : Collector's Edition, Metroid Prime (unlock Metroid 1), Mega Man Collection, Mega Man X Collection, and you've got yourself a virtual library to start with...

Re: US VC Release - 2nd June - Ninja Combat

Get Adventures Of Lolo 1...that kept me busy for a long time...especially when I couldn't be a level on my first 10 tries. lol...

People should give these games a go :

Adventures Of Lolo
Neutopia
Super Metroid
Bonk's Adventure
Streets of Rage
Kid Chameleon
Splatterhouse

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - June 2008 (Super Mario RPG!)

Almost forgot to mention Corbie, I hate cats.

Comparing Mario RPG to Final Fantasy is like comparing apples and oranges. They're totally seperate except for the fact they're RPGs. Earthbound is like another nearby fruit, maybe a banana...

Ness ate the cookie. He recovered 6 HP!

Re: Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars

Viral

I personally think ANYONE, young or old, will enjoy this game if they haven't already played it. There's not a single person in my family that didn't like this game when it came out. Overall, if you liked Paper Mario, this game makes Paper Mario look like crap.

Re: Japanese Virtual Console list - June 2008 (Super Mario RPG!)

Viral

I'm looking forward to playing Mario RPG once again. I completed it a long time ago in Iowa (when I still lived in the states). I'm also looking forward to Earthbound and Chrono Trigger (never played Chrono Trigger). I seriously think that Nintendo is stepping up their game since the console itself is fanbased and all. Does anyone know if we'll get any of the previous Alone In The Dark-esque games since the new one is scheduled soon? And for the record, there are a lot of clever images posted next to your names. The following I thought were brilliant :

Adamant - Who doesn't love the Black Mage?
Corbie (GRIM? from Conker.?)
Hero10X - Can't believe you found a map of Mario RPG..lol
Phantom5800 - Fire Emblem? Nice.

Re: MSX Hits Japanese VC, Includes Special Options

@Walan : Hilarious. The following words should be banned : Vectorman, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Mario RPG, and Final Fantasy, or any variation of these words used together. lol..

I think that Nintendo will be releasing some decent games shortly. It's spring/summer time...shouldn't we all be outside more frequently during this time?

Re: US VC Releases - 26th May - Metal Slug

Viral

Just get yourself Metal Slug Anthology and save yourself tons of money. Metal Slug 1 cost 900 Wii Points. Now, if you get the Anthology for like, 20$, you're getting 1, 2, X, 3, and more. It's more value for your money. It'd be awesome if Nintendo released compilations instead of some VC releases. For example, they could fit over 20 NES games on a Wii disc and call it "The Best Of NES Volume 1" and it'd still sell like hotcakes....

Re: US VC Releases - 26th May - Metal Slug

Viral

That's because Australians get screwed on a lot of things....I'm looking forward to playing Earthbound if it comes to the VC. However...I will be happy when they release Mother 1 and 3 since those are games I've never played, and that's what the VC encourages us to do, give games we've never played a go!

Re: Soul Blazer – The Virtual Console Release That Never Was?

Viral

...I think it's getting pretty damn ridiculous that we don't have a release schedule like Japan does. Why do they get one, yet, we don't? Also, why don't they release Tiny Toon Adventures for both Mega Drive and SNES since you know some gamers will complain when it comes out for the one they dislike and not the one they want to play it on, although, they're virtually the same game....

Re: EU VC Release - 23rd May - Paradroid

C64 isn't terrible. I for one never got to play much C64 games so I like random stuff like this coming. I may get this game because it sounds intriguing.... So, who's going to hack Nintendo and release the good stuff for everyone else? I will be getting Lost Winds and another WiiWare title this weekend more than likely, depending on the wifey...lol

Re: US VC Release - May 19th - Sky Kid

No idea SMBSS, however I think it will be coming shortly to the US.
@ Mike : Yeah, Nintendo will come up with a solution...this Christmas with the new Wii that has internal 8GB storage space...much like the X-Box 360 storage flaw, it's going to be 250$ and 180 pounds in Europe.... Oh wait, I just spoiled Nintendo's secret plan all along! Just kidding.
