I like how there's no announcement about Europe getting this service this year. Same goes for the fact that I haven't seen any news related to how Europe will be getting anything special. When will we be getting more information about Europe other than 1 release a week news?
Bass, I agree you with about Final Fantasy franchise on the VC. 1 and 2 respectively, should've been on the VC from the getgo. As for the games mentioned by StarWolf and Adamant, the only one I'm particularly worried about is Super Mario All Stars for the simple fact I didn't get my Wii until December 2007, thus, missing out completely on Super Mario Lost Levels. I've beaten the others and even downloaded them already, I just haven't had the joy of dying repeatedly in the original Lost Levels. If they brought it back, I'd be perfectly happy to just download it and forget All Stars, but until they do...All Stars is my only hope...And admit it everyone, if they had Fire Emblem on the Wii, you'd download it.
Not to sound negative or anything, but I think Nintendo is holding back many gems in the collection now. I was reading my NPower here in England and noticed a lot of games are going to be coming out this 2008 year. Now, I can imagine Nintendo withholding these games because of this list in the magazine :
Fire Emblem series - It's coming out on the Wii and DS Final Fantasy series - Too many remakes on the DS/GBA and they're re-designing IV just like they did III Kirby series - There's a new Kirby planned for Wii, just hasn't shown much and it's a redesigned version that was originally intended for the Gamecube. Zombies Ate My Neighbors - There's a game coming this year called Zombie Massacre, maybe they're release these two in sync. Star Wars series - Star Wars Force Unleashed is coming for Wii Super Mario Kart (SNES) - It's coming for Wii, so they may release these two in sync as well.
Those are opinionated guesses, kinda like how Super Metroid came out around the time of Metroid Prime 3. Sounds coincidental? Or do you think Nintendo will do the same for all big franchises? I think they will. Although, I'm surprised why no Resident Evil 2 (N64) was released for VC when Umbrella Chronicles came out...
Honestly, Europeans are getting screwed on the Virtual Console. I'm American and I live in England and how I woe thee Europeans as I am suffering with you. I think Nintendo isn't playing favorites, although I do believe that Nintendo is releasing them in particular areas first for specific regions. I still think Nintendo needs to hear me out and get an "Everybody Votes VC Channel" because the current voting channel kind of sucks since it's mostly boring. Who cares who takes a shower in the morning or in the night? I for one, don't. I DO CARE when and what virtual console games are released for the fact that it partains to me and you all! I also think that Nintendo isn't rewarding us fairly for buying their games...star points right? Well, I looked on the site, for every 400 star points, you get 100 VC Points, basically, I bought Super Paper Mario and Wario Ware Smooth Moves, and I got 500 STAR Points TOTAL between the two games. That's 250 points each...not even 100 downloadable content points....shame...
The WiiWare channel will launch in 2009 at this rate. You'd think the service was up and running already with all the hype and news about it. That means Japan will have it by Summer, America by Fall, Europe by 2009.
I think that the Nintendo needs to have a Vote for the VC game channel. And your votes count. And they release 3 a week no matter what and people can vote based on 10 entries that Nintendo has already "acquired" and has waiting in the cue to be posted. If Wesker owned Nintendo, he would've chosen Resident Evil 2 for Nintendo 64 as a downloadable title as well as Super Mario RPG.
In my honest opinion, I think this is just not as good as the original. The original had the awesome 8-bit graphics, yes, awesome. I'm all about 8-bit and 16-bit graphics...
What about Foxandu? That game was oldschool like no other...platformer and difficulty in one... One thing I would really appreciate seeing on the Wii is some new console games, for instance, why can't we see Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and some Gameboy Advanced games? After all, the Super Nintendo had the Super Gameboy. Why can't we get Metroid II? Legend of Zelda : Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons? You know how many insane people would download Pokemon, the original, on the Wii? I for one, wouldn't but I know many would. Gameboy hasn't even been tapped for the VC memories yet, but rest assured, Nintendo will do something with them. It'd be nice if Game Gear was included in those times.... *flashbacks are nice*

I just bought some Wii points and I will finally be shelling out more money on the VC now that I've finished my two huge games...Umbrella Chronicles and Mario Galaxy. Maybe they should lower VC game costs because it'd be sweet to get 1 Nintendo game for 400 points...then I could get 5 games for the cost of 14.99 pounds. Basically 30 dollars in America!)
Well, Fang, in my opinion, I think that Nintendo has stepped up their game on Wii games but it seems the people want specific games to download. I think there should be a Virtual Console vote and you can vote over a total of 9 games and out of the 9, only three shall be chosen at the 6 that weren't chosen would get thrown in a random-bin that comes up once every month and you choose out of the random-bin or they choose randomly for us. It'd at least give us an idea of what might be coming out and whether to plan ahead and get points of just not. There's so much potential that the Wii isn't capitalizing on that it's costing Nintendo lots of money.
In answer to your question though Fang, I'm content with the games that are released because I don't have money to dole out on Wii points like some of the people above, however, I will dole out the money if a game comes out that brings me back to my days when I was 5/6 years old.

However, that doesn't show why we haven't seen Super Mario RPG or Chrono Trigger in Europe...yet, we haven't seen that appear in any countries. They really need to release Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, Mother 1, Mother 3, Earthbound, and a few other classic games that America and Europe never got to play. I'm American but in England and I think that Japan is getting robbed just as badly as we both are. I can see that Nintendo has released a few good games this year but I've seen loads of games that I wouldn't touch with a 10-foot pole... I just got my Wii for Christmas and only downloaded 3 games for it because they were must play and the rest can wait for a time when I finish Zelda & Galaxy.
