I'm glad we didn't get shafted as much as North America did. Phew...and Mario Kart Wii rocks. Can't wait for Wii Fit. You may have Brawl, but we've got one awesome one you're still waiting on.
I personally don't mind getting these four. I haven't gotten Wonder Boy yet but will shortly. I will also be trying for the first time Impossible Mission, since it keeps getting incredibly good ratings. Then I'll let my wife download something too. lol
On a side note, why does Nintendo announce Japan's monthly list of VC games when they don't do the same for North America or Europe? That's kind of prejudice...lol
Yeah...the song by Bullet for My Valentine called Scream Aim & Fire is exactly how some of these releases make me feel about the VC....sadly...sniff sniff...
I agree Drake. I think the best game to come out on the VC so far is Super Probector. I've gotten to the final boss on Hard mode 3 times and haven't defeated him yet...then again, I'm playing solo so it's a lot harder! On a side note, will Super Mario Bros : Lost Levels ever be re-released in Europe? I got my Wii at Christmas and got screwed out of that game.
Wishful thinking Brooks83. I'm just glad they released 3 games for once. I made a comment a while back about C64 being announced, but no games yet. I think that Nintendo must've noticed this site's feedback. If they did, they'd be catering to us sooner than later. As far as Crusin' USA, I'm not a big fan except for the horrible graphic-version of the NES. And to comment about Earthbound series, yeah, I wish it'd all be released, but then again, we'd also like more imports, ie Fire Emblem. And for you all who are wondering whether to get Fire Emblem for Wii or not, get it, it's freakin' awesome and hard. Sothe is a badass!!!!
True E-Dawg...lucky them... I'm happy since we just had Easter and my family from America brought me games to play for my DS! Amen for Contra 4 and Professor Layton & The Curious Village! Plus, two new Wii-motes (now I have 4). Just so you all know, Wii-motes are cheaper in America than they are in Europe due to exchange prices!
Wormaster, you're right in some aspects. I'm a moderate hard core gamer (I'm full time employed for cryin' out loud) and I have a daughter and wife. I used to be gaming 5 hours a day minimum. Now, I'm lucky if I get 30 minutes to play ANY game at all. That's why some games on the VC are not so appealing to me and some are. Games where I can pick up the controller and mindlessly finish a level (Super Mario World) are pleasing because I can finish a world rather quickly. Some games need to be released because they're long overdue in my opinion. I was really unhappy that Nintendo was releasing old games on the GBA awhile back because that means they're milking more money out of old games.
I wish Nintendo would release games that my family and I played when I was originally 5 (the original NES days). Faxandu was a game my dad played and I haven't played, which I wanted to for a long time. Some games like Adventures of Lolo are classics for me because I used to rent that game and when the damn cartridge didn't work, you'd have to blow in the NES and the game and even do some magic trick to get the game to work. lol At least we don't have to do that with the Wii's downloadable games. The only downside to playing some of these games is that games like Castlevania are insanely difficult, even compared to these days' games. I mean, Castlevania is ridiculously harder than Super Mario Galaxy in my opinion. I've completed it with all stars (Mario & Luigi's both) and still haven't finished Castlevania.
To be completely honest, Super Mario RPG got me into RPGs. That said, I enjoyed Final Fantasy VII, although it's overhyped. I personally think the best Final Fantasy is IV because the characters have depth and the fact that you lose characters that you build up makes the game more challenging. I walked into a room in that game and got completely owned because I went to fight Leviathan and got SLAUGHTERED!
They should make games run off my SD card. It'd save me a headache considering you only get 4 screens worth of channels to use. However, Fire Emblem alone would be worth the wait for the Virtual Console. Here's to praying Nintendo releases all Fire Emblems on VC....
Damo, I hear you. And to make my post on number 93 more clearly, I forgot to mention Super Mario RPG intentionally because I honestly don't like Square-Enix anymore...they've turned traitor to franchises...
I read about the first 25 posts and thought, good god...I'm not reading them all before I make a note here. Nintendo has got plenty of titles up their sleeves. We have yet to see Fire Emblem on Virtual Console (amen for Wii version keeping me busy). I think the most anticipated titles have to be spread amongst the year evenly, those being the big ones :
Kirby : Superstar Saga Earthbound Zelda : Majora's Mask Super Mario Kart Super Mario World 2 : Yoshi's Island Re-release of Super Mario Lost Levels (Europe got hosed that it was pulled off of the VC) Super Smash Bros. Goldeneye (it would be a dream come true, for all of us) Resident Evil 2 (N64, & yes, my display picture is Wesker)
Hey, any of those games are potential, it all depends on Nintendo. Keep a positive outlook on it and maybe we'll get lucky and see these titles sooner than later.
I think it'd be cool if Nintendo would expand memory on the Wii's internal memory by allowing upgradable services...for even 10$ or 10 pounds, I'd so upgrade my Wii's memory to that of 2-4GB easily on an SD card. I have a 2GB sd card just sitting in there at the moment for saved data (complete Mario Galaxy and Super Paper Mario data, 100%)
...If they release Final Fantasy on the Virtual Console, they'd have a goldmine on their hands. Final Fantasy would easily sell for 800 points per Nes game. Nintendo and Square-Enix need to capitalize on this, yet, Square-Enix is too involved in porting games to GBA and DS....what about us Wii owners? I have a DS and I would rather play it on a 42 inch flat screen tv than a tiny DS screen...
I still think that Nintendo is letting a lot of people down. I just read in my Nintendo Magazine (Europe) that Earthbound has no means to come to the VC as of yet.
I think it's a bad idea for certain things. For example, Super Mario Bros 3 on the GBA had the scannable cards for the card reader-thingy, those would be worth downloading as a bonus pack for that game. Bad examples would be single downloadable levels.
Online for the win Chester...indeed. As soon as I read that, I knew this was superior to any VC version they'd release of this game. The only reason the originals would be good to get again is for the single player mode, but then again, that's limited. I wonder if they'll ever release Mother 1?
Adamant, I had the pleasure of playing Super Mario RPG and the like on Super Nintendo when I lived in America. I know how badly Europe is getting screwed now that I live here now. I think that DoReMi isn't coming to Europe anyways and it's not a big loss for me anyways. I'm 23 and I plan on only buying games I know I will enjoy because I don't have the best paying job in the world that can support my family and my gaming addiction at the same time...
...I had 3 bongos and I know one of them was used so violently in Donkey Konga 2 (Pieces on Gorilla mode anyone?) that it makes me wonder if we'll be lucky enough to get a Donkey Konga 3. I'd so buy it immediately without question...
I agree E-dawg. What happened to RPGs? I used to play these but lately, it seems that RPGs are just dying again in mainstream. I think it's because us hardcore RPGers are finally having something better to do than spend 40 hours going to level 99 and getting all the materia...(wait, that's only one of them)... My hopes have been shattered for RE2 on N64 VC....E-Dawg, I love your picture, but Leon would get owned by Wesker.
GameGear Sonic was hell-a-hard. Goodluck everyone that doesn't play platformers religiously. I'm still hoping for Resident Evil 2 and Goldeneye for the N64...although we'll probably never see them. RE UC for the win.
...I'm waiting for the new Mario game announced...it's called : Mario Does The Weekly Shopping and you race a shopping cart through aisles collecting fruit and things on your shopping list...just kidding. Mario does so much these days...what sport doesn't he play? Cricket? Out of all the games with Mario in it, I've never seen him play Cricket! lmfao...falls asleep as cricket is on tv
No Tim, he lives in the Cloud City and you have to use the hookshot to go into the cannon and then blast into the sky to find him. He doesn't use email, he uses Ooccoos.
I do believe this game is worth a download, however, I must warn you all that if you're going to be playing it, my ex-girlfriend beat this game (having no gaming experience whatsoever) and did it in 4 days time. She did not collect all the shards and what not, so that's the only real reason I could see anyone downloading it. Still, I do think this title has been treated unfairly too. I liked the graphics and the side-scrolling gameplay is always a plus. Some games work better as side scrollers, aka, Contra / Super Probector. Contra 4 for DS for the Win!
To be honest, I don't know what to expect from this. I never played a C64 in my life. I grew up with a Nintendo, Sega, Super Nintendo, Gameboy, Virtual Boy (yes I had one of those lmfao), Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Playstation, Playstation 2 (sold both versions as they broke), and finally my Gamecube broke. I suspect it was a power overload that shorted it since I had to buy a special cable to play it in Europe. Over 40 gamecube games just sitting here...And now, I love the Wii.

True E-dawg. I say bring the garbage, that way, that's out of the way, they'll have no choice but to release gems.

Not a chance.
Re: APRIL FOOLS: Virtual Boy Confirmed for Virtual Console
Did anyone else notice that some of the Virtual Console games if you go back towards the buy menu, you can download "updates"? Anyone have any ideas?
Re: US VC Releases - March 31st - Wonder Boy
Sucks for you guys. Lucky for me, I'm going to get 4 NES games today.

Re: Master System hitting US "soon", 400 points per game
Eh, I like how they release more systems but not the games for those said systems....No C64 games in Europe yet. Here's to more systems, less games.

Re: Talking Point: The State of Play of the Virtual Console
Bad releases = money in my pocket for Wii releases
Re: EU VC Release - March 21st - Sega Week - Mega Turrican
Unfortunately, I'll have to wait a bit longer for more VC games I am interested in. These two aren't bad, just, not my cup of tea.

Thomas, you can edit posts. Just for future reference.
Nintendo will be making a mistake if they make downloadable content cost an arm and a leg.

Incredibly well done. I'm glad they're doing something with some of these classics. Amen for not buying the VC version.

I think the phrase "Just say no" doesn't just count for drugs, as this is a prime example of it as well...
Now if only we could convince Nintendo to release the games we really want...
Re: Major League Eating munches its way to WiiWare
I am definitely passing this one up. I've had better games in my imagination than this idea...
