Serial queue-starter Isaiah Triforce Johnson has made a bit of a name for himself as the first person to buy just about every piece of Nintendo hardware in recent history.
He was the first to purchase Wii and the first to get his hands on 3DS in North America. Now, he has already begun to queue up for the Wii U - despite the fact that it's not out for almost a month.
Johnson tweeted to his legion of followers that he's already camping out at the Nintendo World Store in New York City, 27 days ahead of the Wii U's launch across the US.
Is it the sign of a true dedicated Nintendo fan, or is it a bit too soon? You decide, and then let us know in the comments section.

That's ridiculous!!!
Gotta keep the streak going. On some Undertake-type stuff.
He just does it to hang with Reggie
His body had better be ready.
Maybe that photo should be captioned 'my body is ready'
....wow. Get a life dude.
Haha, this guy is crazy. Love it.
I would do it... Only if being first somehow magically paid all the bills
I guess he just wants to maintain is Guinness World Record... 20 days early.
Maybe he just likes camping...
I wish I was able to do that!
Love the guy.
Doesnt he have a job he has to be at?
I wonder what is girlfriend thinks?
@A-Hungry-Banker
Does he have a girlfriend?
If he brings enough booze or weed, he can get through the wait in no time.
@MadAussieBloke I Second that!!!
He should be friends with David Blaine, they could do ridiculous things together
The way Reggie is looking and smiling at him is kinda creepy.
Oh no, he won't get laid by his girlfriend for a WHOLE month... oh wait, girlfriend, what?!
@phoenixology lol xD
but yeah thats crazy and in new york it gets rly cold around these times unless hes fully ready with stuff and food unless he has ppl bring him stuff or a bathroom at that i dont see how this dude handles this stuff >.< unless he uses the stores bathroom and such ew
but hey i guess ultimate nintendo fan
Gotta be on the Big N payroll for publicity. He wants to freeze his buns off for the next month, be my guest. I'm gonna pick up my Wii U the old fashioned way: Walk into Gamestop with my already paid receipt (as of yesterday yeah baby!) after work, and walk out with a Wii U on 11/18.
Wow, dedicated indeed.
Good on him. Can't say I'd do that myself, but at least he's living the (his) dream!
I thought I read somewhere once that he makes his money from video game competitions or something like that. If so, I guess this counts as work...
I got my 3DS before him, because my store broke the street date — kind of made me laugh that he was waiting in line all that time and I got mine before he did. A lot of people in Atlantic Canada could get their Wii U before him too, assuming we have midnight launches.
Wow, I tip my 3ds to him. The longest I ever camp out for a game/game system is 2 hour before opening and 1 hour to reach the front.
Maybe I'll see him when I go to pick up my reserved Wii U. Chances are I'll be in the part of the line that's halfway circling the block.
iphys: congratulations? Lots of people can get these before him, but he gets it first in the US legitimately.
I have to admit, with a retputation like he has, I don't blame him for being extra cautious. 27 days, though. Maaaaaaan.
Hahaha. You crazy, dude.
I wonder how he'll spend Halloween, since he's camping during it. Will he pass out mushroom shaped candies while dressed as Mario to all the children who drop by the Nintendo World Store?
Ah, I wish he could stand in line for me Too bad I don't live in America...
@Starzsixty9
Agreed, must be nice to be able to do nothing for 27 days. Apparently buying luxury video game consoles with a welfare check is acceptable, he is rich, or still lives with mommy and daddy. Either way I am jealous, but still not crazy enough to wait outside 27 days, I hope we get a snow storm
What is the point of waiting in line in the days of "pre-ordering"? If he, for some reason, did not pre-order a system I hope he misses out haha. Having said that, there are around ten people who pre-ordered at my local gamestop, so I can just elbow my way through some fools to get to the front I've got a genius idea for the next round of Nintendo consoles Mr. Johnson: Pre-order it and arrive whenever the hell you want, that way you don't smell like you have been waiting in line for 27 days...
Hmm.. Where does he get the money to be able to pull of a month worth of doing nothing?? Is he going to sell t-shirts?
Either he's unemployed, can work while queuing or he's got himself covered for the month.
What's with the haters? Hope there's a snowstorm or he misses out? He's not standing in line to make sure he gets one, folks. There are many other reasons. I enjoy the line experience, it's a fun community thing. I don't think I'd do it for more than a few hours.
Looks like someone's got too much time on his hands if you ask me.
This reminded me that when I wait in line for the WiiU I should also bring my 3DS since I'll probably get some hits
@HarmoKnight That's a must. In a way it's a shame that I'm getting mine in the post.
I just wanna know what the dude does for 27 days, on the street, in the cold. How does he get food? How does he charge his stuff? How does he have the money to support this endeavor?
Maybe the guy puts in his vacation hours with his job to be able to do this. I know some people care about being first but this is nuts.
I don't know whether I should look up to or down upon this guy. He is an avid Nintendo fan, but he is a bit ridiculous to be camping 27 days in one spot.
@aaronsullivan
Point being, just because he is pathetic enought to stand in line for 27 days doesn't make him the biggest Nintendo fan, it makes him the most pathetic. Thinking that standing there for 27 days makes him get his console any faster than a guy at you local Gamestop who was waiting first in line for 4 hours (been there). You want the truth, if he is waiting in New York City at midnight, somewhere else midnight happened an hour ago and the guy at the front of that line is already home playing his Wii U and didnt wait 27 days.
You're the man, Triforce!!
The photo caption made me laugh!
Well since he's gonna be the first one in line, I guess nobody has to line up behind him until the day before Wii U launch. haha. He IS first afterall. This guy must be doing office work on his smartphone, or tablet with 3g/4g, and put his kids in a day care for a month. haha. That's like spending $50 for 3g/4g, and $500 for the daycare. Who's gonna take his kids to school? Who's gonna feen his dog? I'm worried for him. Haha, just kidding. He can do whatever the f*** he wants, I just don't get how he's paying bills and all that...
I just saw the serial # on his box, and it was one # different than mine. I must have bee second in the world! haha. He's lucky, since they know he's already first in line, I wouldn't be surprised if they game him a goodie for being there first. I wish I could camp out in fron of Nintendo World Store for a month, without a worry about anything.
That's just... plain craziness.... O_O
I'd love to camp outside for a midnight release at some stage to meet with other Nintendo fans and the like, but 27 days is just crazy. It's hard to me to understand why someone would be cold, wet, alone, and not doing anything for that amount of time just to buy a console. I wonder how rich he must be.
@Zeldazero and other haters
"just because he is pathetic enought to stand in line for 27 days doesn't make him the biggest Nintendo fan, it makes him the most pathetic"
"Either way I am jealous"
Sounds like you got a jealousy problem with him, making you even more pathetic and less on the news. well guess what? HE DOESN'T CARE. lol
What's with all the hate? Sad sad people here.
I hope a snow storm comes and buries all of you and you don't get a Wii U ever and some random bum punches you in the face (even though I do not know you) /sarcasm
Wait, this is Fighting Game Community EMP Triforce?
for the next system i shall go 3 moths before it launches to steal his recordss lol!!
@zeldazero Except midnight in New york would be the first time WiiU was released since Europe and Japan get it later, but I still wouldn't do that
To all the haters,
You're just jealous you can't stand in line with him. Shut up.
I gotta give props to this guy. I wish I could do such a thing... But I physically couldn't. 3 hours is my max.
I once waited in line to get Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I waited probably 1 hour. I also went to a Half-Blood Prince midnight release party. Hung out for about 2-3 hours and got my book.
It isn't that he's crazy enough to stand there, it's probably that he knows he'll be surrounded by avid Nintendo fans just like him in a few mere weeks.
Getting console first is a win. He gets to buy the console first and, and....uhh
Reggie: Hey, My body is ready..
Isaiah: wha...?
He seems a bit crazy, but then again; aren't we all?
Triforce, I salute you (honestly, some people have all the time in the world).
@NintendoLand
Pretty observant that I am jealous since I did put it in plain english in my comment. Unfortunately, I am just jealous I dont have 27 days to waste not that I would waste it outside of store in NYC. I think if I was him and had half a brain and 27 days to waste I'd waste a few hours in line getting my Wii U like everyone else and spending 27 days playing it.
Also, nobody said they hate him, you are just making your own agenda and wishing all of us get punched in the face...So who is the hater...
I wish I had enough time/money to do that...
Whale dong, sir.
I'm not quite sure how he could be the first to buy one, considering all the stores in that time zone open at the same time and someone else at a different store could be ringing up at the exact same time as him (or sooner). First to line up, sure, but I don't think you could say he is the first to purchase one.
@brooks83
receipts do have the time on them.
@grimbldoo
Yes, and? Unless he purchases the system before the store opens, I don't see how he could be the first when you have thousands of stores opening at the same time.
@zeldazero
Also, nobody said they hate him, you are just making your own agenda and wishing all of us get punched in the face...So who is the hater...
lol you were just wishing there was a snowstorm around then, that sounded off to me
Well this was an unexpected thing to see. Wish I could hang around in front of a store for that long, but time and money would be lost for such a thing. I've got better things to do, though congratulations to him on going that long this time.
@ NintendoLand
What about his kids, job, and wife? I'm worried, not hating. haha. He is technically going to be the first consumer that owns a Wii, but the person behind him might actually get home with it first if you think about it, plug it in, and play it first. He'll probably buy all the games available since it's apparent he's a "big shot". It takes time to balance over 20 games, a Wii U, probably a few pro controller, another Wii U gamepad, without a shopping basket or cart, all while still being on the budget(What a G!).
Does Nintendo World Store have shopping carts by the way?
Enough with the hate!!! If he wants to do this, let him. It's not like this is going to inconvenience you or what's going on in your life.
If he can do it, more power to him. Everyone else can go about their business but if you think slamming on him makes you feel or look better, it doesn't. Stop trolling and keep it moving.
I wish I had the time to do that
speaking of launch pickup i probably going to go a few hours before the wait time starts i should be at least 3rd or 5th in line i better bring my 3ds fully charge as well as a book if i play the system till battery dies out lol
Eventually, he'll start camping a year before the release of a future Nintendo console.
That is just ridiculous! If he wants to be the first to buy it, why not just start camping there days before it launches, not weeks or if he's really that desperate to uphold his reputation and is worried that someone else might arrive before him, why not just start camping a week early rather than this many weeks early.
He must know something we don't, I can't think of any other logical reason someone would camp out that early. That or its just a publicity thing, "guy known for being first to buy Nintendo consoles camps out 27 days early" anyone?
I met him when camping out to meet Miyamoto in 2005. He is a cool guy and super-nice.
Is it worth having followers in Tweeter just because you are stupid or don't have a life?
Well, I hope he gets the first WiiU if he manages out there until it's on sale. And maybe it is a really big deal for him, so he made sure he could have time off from work until WiiU is out? Some people have quite flexible jobs. He does what he wants, so shouldn't we just cheer him on?
get a life and a job? also, don't get sick.
did he reserve? I thought the only way to get one on day 1 is if you reserved? if you did reserve, why do you have to stand in line?
yeah, all for publicity. that is what Triforce loves. good for him! not my cup of tea.
@Phle Everybody is free to do what they please. Thing is, don't you think there are BETTER things to do?
@Sun what matters in your life depends on the person, for some people standing in line for WiiU would be a total waste of time, but for him it obviously isn't. All people are different, so I can't say he is wasting his time. What you should be spending your time on is really something only you will know. What others should be spending their time on is something only they will know.
@Phle I've already agreed with you on my previous message but I still believe you can do better things like... SOMETHING! And in case he only cares about games and nothing else in the world he could still spend some time playing that Wii he wanted so badly.
Don't be innocent, this is just about acting weird and getting attention.
All i have to say is wow thats incredible and shut up to all haters! And that takes some guts to do what hes doing
