Since the game'd FINALLY been patched to run as smooth as it ought've on launch, could this review be likewise updated so that passersby would know the actual state of the game nowadays?
Pft, of course I see this in the last hours of the 16th. Ah well, been outta the Switch ecosystem for a while, but still pop on here and there, especially for that sweet, sweet s t a b i l i t y .
Yeah, a gift fighter to build hype, or available free as a purchase bonus for FighterZ Pass 3 (or all three) alongside a standalone payment. Heck, got Mewtwo for Smash 4 and Piranha Plant for Ultimate as purchase bonuses, so I’d assumed there’d be something besides a flat fiver.
@nhSnork p sure the Internet Browser, at least on 3DS, has a shortcut to upload screens to Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr, though I think at least one of those had been removed at some point?
@TheFrenchiestFry I, though, would be surprised if Nintendo didn’t pay notice to the blowback against Sony’s closures announcement, and they have completely brought down any means to purchase those games outside the PS3 and Vita/PSTV themselves, whereas 3DS and Wii U content can still be purchased through the Nintendo website.
@EarthboundBenjy And maybe throw us a bone of Castlevania Legends, “canon” be damned. What’d really be wild is if Dracula X Chronicles’ 3D remake for Rondo of Blood were to be added (a Portable exclusive, so in line with a handheld theming).
@Azuris These days, at least, the obligatory logo is on a clear plastic sleeve, so an unspoilt outer box can be used for display. Don’t recall if said unspoilt box is itself wrapped/sealed or if the sleeve is bound within.
Honestly, what my eyes keep coming back to is that Grimp silk necklace. I could let all the else pass (maybe not the OST, for documentary purposes), if I could just spring for one of those.
At least I had enough “Jala (free)” for the collaboration emote dance and music track (one I recognize!), as opposed to the ass-blasting prices in that Sonic collab. Down to 100 of the free-version-of-the-identically-identified-paid-currency (please, games, just pool them or name them differently, stop mocking me), so hopefully more giveaways happen before the next Things Of Interest.
@kepsux Watch the Dream Address be tied to the Island Backup, so you can't set a separate design for visitation. At least if I recall, New Leaf needed you to manually update the state of your town with Luna, so you could set it a particular way, set that with Luna, and then carry on how you want.
That none of the Theatrhythm games ever got even one Kingdom Hearts DLC song, I had quietly slipped into never getting my rhythm game fix to songs that just pop in my head unwarranted. But one the MoM logo leaked, I simultaneously couldn't think it'd be anything else and wasn't sure they ever would, but then I saw the trailer'd dropped, and I watched, and I saw RHYTHM COMBAT, and I shouted "YES!" aloud, needing to hold myself back from damaging my throat. It's finally happening. Over 140 songs. My gods, I can hardly wait. Digital on PS4(/PS5~), physical on Switch if there's pack-in materials.
If the DS list is counting Virtual Console sales, I'd take a hack at guessing why it sold so well. A real entrypoint to getting the most out of your Nintendo hardware...
This is terribly annoying, as I have since swapped to playing primarily on a Lite, but would like the damned option to copy my save data over to the olde Switch for on-TV play. The bleedin’ fook, Ninty?
Took way too many comments for @Gwynbleidd to say it! While I love the featherweight of the Switch Lite, the absence of HD Rumble is a sad state when I know there should be vibrations in-hand. This would do well for my desires, and I’d think not cause too much strain atop my Pro Controller, given what little heft of my handheld.
@Silly_G — Reality is, how you regard an individual, especially one whose relevant "reality" is of no material consequence to your engagement with said individual, should be based on their identity, not on base categorization of gonads. As you meandered, pronouns are a societal matter (else we would address entities by their relevant characteristics, such as "Caucasian male human"), so how an individual acts within a society dictates with what language they are regarded.
It's really very simply: Birdo's a woman, so we call her "she".
@Silly_G – Skimming through your novellas, you put a lotta structure and form into saying, "Let's use pronouns based on others' sex junk," whoch is weird concerning a non-human fictional character. Like, you'll never engage with Birdo's presumed sex junk, the other characters likely'll never engage with Birdo's (or their own) sex junk, and there'll likely be no canonical implication of conflict in relation to presumed sex junk, so why refer to this presented female character with male (or even neutral) pronouns except to perpetuate your real-world excuses for imposing on others your own incapability to cope with identity?
Given the third-party games confirmed for the feature, I'd suppose those warnings are in place until functionality is live. Are there any pages at this time that explicitly indicate the do support cloud backup?
Felt a bit like @WillTheLion when seeing a delay to something I was looking forward to, but the details of these many and various events duly overwhelm that disappointment.
Nintendo has also implemented server-side authentication for digital games/apps, same as the Switch. Even if it's a dump from your own 3DS cartridge, if you use an installed game/app to go online that wasn't legitimately obtained from the eShop itself, prepare to get boopee by the ban-hammer.
@GodOfPie Maybe that Future Tone is very arcadey rather than a steady unlock (like PMDX) or a scenario (like PDX), or that it's a free base platform/demo with the meat of the game as DLC (so less noticeable as a "full package"), or...no platinum? Still, even with all the NA trophies, I'm steadily getting scores on all charts. Hope there's another Mirai, though, as I love the (somehow less uncanny) visuals, alternate vocals (most making it to FT), the GUMI songs!, and the line-based charts, over the DIVA chunks.
[And I'm reminded of the two-songs-and-photo-mode DLC that's far overpriced for my taste, and that I missed out when it was erroneously free by some quirk.]
@JTMnM Ah, that I would now see a Ridley preorder page, after my Gamers Club Unlocked ran out in the 8th. Really wish i'd gone with my impulse to re-up my subscription, just a couple weeks or so before the program was ended.
Looking back, all this hate on Moray Towers. As a roller, I don't recall how playing this stage felt in the original game, but with the fling mechanics changed in the sequel, I love forging a trail with jump-flings, climbing walls and setting Beakons for my team to never use (or maybe I just never notice). But hey, it made it into Smash, so I guess it has that going for it.
I'd love a COM encounter with Wario in his classic outfit, and an assist trophy spawns right on him, only for Waluigi to pop out, turn on him, and face the player(s) for a round of hurt. Maybe with a giant-size modifier, so he too can hit the big time.
Even if there's not a Subspace Emissary, I'd like a new Adventure Mode. It was neat to see Nintendo worlds converted to Smash runs, and kinda silly to see a given character traversing disparate worlds. Imagine the Villager escaping Zebes, right?
I'm just bummed the transformation Finals (Giga Bowser/Mac, Wario-Man, LANDOMASTA-DA) are out, replaced with just yet other pure damage attacks. How's Super Sonic in this regard, now?
..."and Knuckles from the Devil May Cry series" when?
I, what?! I still need to finish the base game. Been holding back some eShop funds to purchase this in the release month, to maximize my gold coins potential, so figured I'd mosey on through the rest of Octo Canyon before then. Huh... Where does the time go?
Well hey, first VOEZ, now Lanota can be deleted off my phone to save space. Still'd need to get Deemo, but might go with PS Vita on that, for my trophies kick. But, who'll claim Cytus II...?
