Bandai Namco have been revealing quite a lot of Dragon Ball video game content as of late. In the latest reveal, the focus is on both Dragon Ball FighterZ and Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2.
The five-minute trailer above shows Cooler - Frieza's lesser-known brother - in action for the very first time in Dragon Ball FighterZ. The villain was first revealed as a fighter during EVO 2018. This particular trailer shows his signature move set, some of which are similar to Frieza's attacks. Cooler will presumably arrive in the Switch version after the game's September release.
The second trailer celebrates the arrival of Kefla and Super Baby 2 in Xenoverse 2. This new DLC pack also contains costumes, quests, figurines, skills to enhance customisation and promises free ongoing updates in the future. Take a look below:
Do you play Xenoverse 2? Are you planning to join the battle in Dragon Ball FighterZ when it arrives next month? Tell us below.

I haven't touched Xenoverse 2 in months. That game lost my interest pretty completely.
Ahhh whenever I see stuff like this, so much service to the Dragon Ball fans, I wish Bandai Namco paid even half as much attention to Gundam... God I dream a great Gundam game on the Switch!
Gundam >>>>>> Dragon Ball. I don't care what anyone else thinks.
I, too, haven't touch Xenoverse 2 for a long time. I still like it and play a little bit sporadically, but games like BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle or My Hero Academia: One's Justice are giving me much more fun than Xenoverse ever did.
I'm looking forward to Dragon Ball Fighterz though...
Cooler needs to receive the Broly treatment (become cannon)
@Heavyarms55 I agree, Gundam needs some love. I was excited for that recent PS4 game that arrived (New Gundam Breaker) ... until I found out that it was a step back from the previous entries.
Fighterz or nothing.
I can't get my head around the combat in Xenoverse 2. I seem to spend the battles constantly dashing after the opponent(s), repeating the same tricky combos and struggling with lock-on when all I want to do is break off the fight to revive a teammate or collect an item. I'm going to trade it in for Fighterz or My Hero One Justice.
Sorry after getting so use to the fun fast pace battle system in FighterZ there's no way I'm going back to that slower pathetic clunky battle mechanics in Xenoverse 2. Going back to Xenoverse 2 at this point is like going back to play Street Fighter II Champion Edition when Super Street Fighter II Turbo is just right around the corner.
@Heavyarms55 There is Gundam SD G Generations for the Switch in Japan, but a Gundam VS. would be a dream indeed, also, Gundam >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Dragon Ball.
@Charinzardon Never been big on the SD or the VS. titles to be honest. They aren't bad games they just don't feel like Gundam games to me. They feel like games with a Gundam skin. The last Gundam games I really liked were all on PS2 in the US. Gundam Federation Vs Zeon(and its sequel) and Gundam Encounters in Space. Oddly I later learned that Federation Vs Zeon was on Gamecube too, but only in Japan.
The sort of Gundam games I dream about have never really been made to my knowledge. Journey to Jaburo was the right idea but terrible execution. My first choice would be almost an action RPG playing as an MS pilot through either the One Year War or the war in Gundam Seed. Start off as a rookie pilot in the beginning but as you progress play some pivotal roll in a battle toward the end... The other option would be a kind of Gundam strategy game where you command a ship like the White Base and have to manage your mobile suits and ship through all sorts of missions. Gradually working your way up from a small cruiser and a couple mobile suits to a heavy carrier and a full squadron of mobile suits of different types. You'd manage your pilots and MS and be able to upgrade your ship weapons, armor and other equipment. Almost like a Gundam meets Fire Emblem.
Basically one experience would be like playing through a story like Amuro Ray's and the other option would be more like Bright Noa's.
I also had Xenoverse 2 on Switch and sold it some time later. Didn't really like it.
I already have FighterZ for PS4. But also this, I didn't really play it a lot so far
I'd love to spend more time in Xenoverse 2. But the DLC is too expensive
I won't be buying FighterZ because $60 along with buying the season pass is absurd when its such a late port
Team Four Star's ruined me on Cooler and Ginyu's voices.
FighterZ is just genius, they should stick with these kinda dragonball games.
@Heavyarms55 Unfortunately Bandai doesn't seem interested in making a AAA Gundam game, or at least an original one at that, the closest we have is Gundam Battle Operation 2 on the PS4 (JP only), but that plays very rough.
One different game that I never played but looks nice is MS Saga on PS2, an RPG with an original story, that and some of the PS3 Side Stories games were the ones with most effort put into.
Sadly I lost hope of any different or very good Gundam game being made nowadays, especially for Nintendo systems.
@Charinzardon It pisses me off. If they don't care then they should license out the rights to someone who does.
