Blue Characters Star In This Week's Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Spirit Event

Sakurai is just teasing me by putting Krystal on the front. I would absolutely love to see her in this game. One of my top 10 most requested!!!

Krystal would be an amazing Smash character with her staff and magic. I'm glad she at least got an Assist Trophy but I'm sad that's where things stopped. Also for some reason her back marking is missing in Ultimate. Oversight or modern PC? Shrug.

It wouldn't be surprise me if they do a Paper Mario: The Origami King event in the near future.

@Torakaka I'm actually more surprised it's not happening right now.

@BoyfriendOfDeath They need time to render the art from the game, and decide on what the Spirits in question can do. They did the same thing when Pokemon Sword and Shield came out.

Based on what I can see, there's a distinct lack of Gunvolt for this event, unless they're also planning on an azure event at some point in the future.

@Blooper987 Krystal! Playable? When!?!? That was my 1st reaction to that pic. It's truly amazing they never gave her her own Starfox Adventures spin-off game, either a pre-quel or sequel. Look how big Lara Croft is. She's a blue furry Lara Croft. Just imagine how many amiibo they would sell if they put her in SSBU?

I don't get it. How many poor selling games did Chibi-Robo get before they finally gave up on him? Blue furry and dinosaurs, the game would sell just on the cos-play potential alone. smh

Apologies for the emphasis on her appearance, I really liked her character in SA, it's not all about the furry, she was basically the female version of Strider/Aragorn from LotR. Maybe it turns out she's queen of her tribe, she is obviously their Wonder Woman. So much potential just going unused. And in the meantime, Switch has no games scheduled ever again.

Uh, of course Sonic isn't part of this event. He's playable.

@Torakaka If an event doesn't happen in the next week or two, I'll take it as a sign that they're coming alongside Paper Mario or the arguably more likely Geno. And it definitely wouldn't surprise me if Square is stingy with SMRPG content and they had to bolster it with music and Spirits from Mario and Luigi (c'mon, give us Come On!) and Paper Mario.

@PikaPhantom that’s the same thing that happened to Fire emblem. No spirits which was weird and when astral chain spirits were confirmed I immediately knew that fire emblem was gonna get a character. I would personally love to see paper Mario.

@Blooper987 I'd also like to see Paper Mario, but it's also possible the Origami King spirits are like the Astral Chain ones and happen months after the game's release on top of Geno being a possibility yet again.

As long as we get some of the Origami King soundtrack in Smash, though, I'll be content
