Re: Madden NFL 26 Updated On Switch 2, Here Are The Patch Notes

SwitchedOn_Games

@coolioam As good as Cyberpunk is, its years old and was made for PS4. Still a superb port all things considered.

I'm just think for it being feature parity and a modern console game, the visuals and being smooth enough in motion is a decent achievement.

I'll be interested how EA FC 26 turns out as that WAS a bit of a choppy mess at 30fps.

Sorry my comment wrangled you, just dont like the blase "...no reason why...", when in reality you have no actual idea whats going on it that game and why they cant hit 60. "Lazy devs" is a lazy argument.

Would I like it to be 60? Sure... but its more than enjoyable.

By the sounds of it, you've not even got it or played it, which really renders your argument moot. Pick it up and try it, you might enjoy it after all

@SoIDecidedTo You can hold the player switch button (A iirc) and press in a direction to switch a player.

I've got totally opposite view to you. I think this is up there with the "miracle ports" on Switch 2. Looks great, plays fluid (its somewhere between 60 and 40, not 30). and has all the modes. ALL of them.

Only thing I think is missing is the new generated half time highlights , which I'd love to see - but also appreciate its a feature you probably sit through once, say "cool" and then skip it in future.

Its a great game - not enjoyed any Madden for so long.

Re: Site News: So, Where's Our Harvestella Review?

@Rika_Yoshitake Its why i stopped doing reviews myself, dont have the time to finish every game, so didnt feel comfortable with reviewing something half done as you say.

With NL though, they have a team, are a respectable Nintendo outlet and assume do very hansomely from advertising. So really think they could be doing better for their audience, thats all.

People will want a review day one. If they cant get it here, they'll go elsewhere.

@Darknilious Ha same, got it for SD yesterday having never played it before and feel the same - feels like long stretches between saves.

And to do the intro bit up to the first boss, not being able to save and then dying - meaning starting the game over (which took 25 mins to get to that point) was a bit hard to take.

For all that, I do really like it, but as you say, as a Dad with limited time, prefer the "save anywhere, any time" games better.

Re: Review: Wreckfest - An Absolute Banger (In A Good Way)

Absolutely cracking racing game, up there with GRID. Only due to Grid having the performance mode choices to run at 60fps does it JUST take the edge, but its close!

Wreckfest has tonnes of content, great online modes (played Saturday couple of hours and was flawless), love the "Tournament" mode (odd name, but basically daily/seasonal content).

Price is always an issue for Switch games and I wish (so bad!) it had cross platform accounts somehow so you could progress on any system, but other than that its absolutely top drawer!

Re: Review: NASCAR Heat Ultimate Edition+ - An Ugly, Unremarkable Racer

Typical cliched "yOu oNLy TuRn lEfT...." stuff.

Most courses are ovals, but apart from a couple (of the like 30+ tracks) there is a lot of nuance in the tracks, when to ease off, what lines to take, when to get back on gas without spinning, racing in packs and drafting. Its pretty ignorant to ignore stuff like that, but then its par for the course on NL. The best part of the review for me was;

"you’ve got a standard career mode in which you create your own character before taking part in various tournaments to increase your standing within the racing community"

I mean what does tht even mean. "Various tournaments?" and if by 'standing within the racing community" you mean a tally of points accrued over a season, then yes... but otherwise its nonsense.

Picked this up over the weekend despite the negative reviews and really enjoying it too be honest. Graphics are 'fine' really... I mean come on, we still gonna bemoan the Switch 4+ years into its life. We know its underpowered and some games look rougher than others. I see nothing outrageously bad here.

Performance can dip, mainly on road courses, but for the most part again, its fine.

I'm not claiming Nascar is the best thing ever, but its a decent enough title for even casual fans of the sport.

Re: Mini Review: Pure Pool - As Close To The Real Thing As You'll Get On Switch

@ChaosBadger777 it matters not, that’s the decision of the publisher and a condition of getting an early code. It’s really important that outlets stick to it as it controls the PR for the game and also gives every channel with a copy a fair chance to drop their content at the same time. NL for some reason think they are bigger and better than everyone else obviously - absolutely not surprised too be honest.
