Re: Dedicated Fans Are Working To Revive A '90s Sonic Cartoon With New Series

@Peace-Boy The animation is my biggest complaint, too. It looked to me like cheap Flash animation. I feel for them needing money to make this thing what it should be, but at the same time, there's no guarantee that the animation would improve to where it needs to be once they get my money. It seems to me that you would make every effort to make something like this little show piece as perfect as you can. If that's what they can do, then no thank you.

Re: Cuphead Developer Dreams Of Making A New Zelda Game

@Dpullam I can certainly respect that. I missed some of the familiarity from past games, too. I sometimes wonder if this game was a result of the great deal of criticism Nintendo got from fans after releasing Skyward Sword. That was a very on-rails sort of world. I enjoyed it very much, but it did feel incredibly claustrophobia-inducing at times. But I don't know of anyone complaining about the story-telling of the game, which I thought was amazing. I think it could be argued that the story-telling of BotW basically required your imagination by the simple nature of the fact that only a bit of it is outright told to us. Now that we've seen the trailer for the sequel, my mind is running wild with the prospects of a much deeper story existing in the game that I wasn't paying attention to. But I also understand not feeling a deep connection with characters in the game. I think that might have been intentional, whether it's pleasing to everyone or not. I do think the sense of adventure it produces is basically unmatched in The Legend of Zelda. I was personally hoping for a sequel that uses the same engine with all of its physics and chemistry in a Hyrule with more civilization. And I guess we still don't know what this sequel will hold yet. I shouldn't jump to conclusions so quickly.

@NullPointerExcep I see. Yes, I can agree with you there. It is, for me, a strange world we live in today. It's hard to find the right balance in business practices today with the rule of the internet mob and simply garnering support. When you want something badly enough, it's pretty easy to let things run away with you.

@BoilerBroJoe I thought reviews made Cadence of Hyrule sound like a bit more than just a Zelda skin of Necrodancer. I haven't gotten it yet, so I don't really know, but what I've read from others sounds like a Zelda game with some extra mechanics. But I suppose Nintendo might and probably does view it as the former.

Re: Cuphead Developer Dreams Of Making A New Zelda Game

@NullPointerExcep I don't think it's all that possible to pressure Nintendo. They've always been very comfortable doing their thing regardless of what competitors say and do. That being said, they're just stating their interest in the least in-your-face way possible. If they wanted to try pressuring Nintendo, they'd call them directly many, many times.

Re: Editorial: Wii Remote Pointer vs. Switch Gyro Controls - The Resident Evil Test

Spustatu

I'm not sure I'd say that Nintendo would leave out the controls if they don't feel perfect. Look at Star Fox Zero. Those controls were a mess. Nintendo will sometimes force the little things that make their consoles special if they feel like a feature is going overlooked. This could end up being one of those. That being said, I think it will work out just fine.

Re: Feature: Nodding Heads Games and the Quest to Bring Ancient India to Consoles

Spustatu

Oh my goodness, this hurts so much. I've been dying for a game just like this. Genuine Indian culture and architecture plus fun combat. And added to it is excellent animation. But I really only want it on my Switch and approx. $35 to get it on Switch is too much right now. I'm so sad! Maybe I'll just pledge for the Steam key and pray that Rainway becomes official on Switch.

Re: Random: This Minimalist Lego Worlds Switch Icon Isn't Exactly a Chip Off The Old Block

Spustatu

@JunkRabbit It most certainly is. The thing I find odd is that the world of design is very much into minimalism right now and I thought most people liked it. For example, my wife loves Swedish minimalism when it comes to interior design, but I don't really like it. I'm more a fan of the Victorian-era archaeologist sort of look with trinkets and mementos and the like. I guess I like calm and minimalism when it comes to UI design, though.

Re: Random: This Minimalist Lego Worlds Switch Icon Isn't Exactly a Chip Off The Old Block

Spustatu

@JunkRabbit That was how I felt about the icon, too. It's so relaxing and nice. It's quiet. And as far as Nintendo's warning that being too simple might make their game stand out, why exactly would that be a bad thing? Shouldn't you want to stand out so that your game gets noticed and then played more? Anyway, I think people are crazy for making a big deal out of this and I really like it.

Re: Rainway Developer Shows App In Action On Nintendo Switch

Spustatu

@SLIGEACH_EIRE It probably doesn't really help Nintendo, but it certainly helps Switch owners that have been Nintendo+PC gamers for awhile, like me. There are plenty of games that won't be coming to my Switch that I'll get on PC. If I can stream those on my Switch while I'm on a break at work, how does that not help me?

Re: Random: Check Out This Travel Nintendo Switch DIY Dock

Spustatu

@BAN Agreed. I simply can't understand how they managed to do that. The dock is plastic. It's softer than the glass. I don't believe they scratched it with the dock. They probably threw it in a bag with keys or something and are blaming it on the dock to not look culpable during the replacement process. Maybe not, but I still don't understand how they could manage those scratches with the dock.
