@Tyranexx completely understand what your saying about switching out old for new; and i get what you say about the XB SE - though that was more of a niche thing, given the lack of western fans compared to some other franchises. I unfortunately missed the FE SE (the one day i didnt check nintendo and it sold out!) Whereas ironically you can still get FE Engage divine edition on my nintendo, along with free gift, some 3.5 years after it came out 🤣

@Whirlwound can I ask what the fascination is with stuff like the LED's in sticks etc? I had to turn mine off on my RoG ally as they just distract my eyes, and all I ever think about is how much battery they are using 🤣

If you like stuff like that, great; it's your device so all good woth yoir own personal tastes - but seriously, is it more aesthetically pleasing to you, or are there other reasons that I can't really grasp?

@Tyranexx I know it was late in the cycle, but the zelda lite didnt sell out immediately (if at all, still - ive seen it for rrp lately - the last few months or so - but could be region specific; UK for me).

And if anything, I think the proce increase of consoles will either put some scalping off, or bring the prices more in line with "normal" prices. If i were to consider selling my LoZ lite (i wouldn't) anytime soon, I'd be asking well over RRP - say 300 because its a nice design... but potentially asking £600+ for a OoT SW2 to me is madness, and I'm someone that throws money around like its no object.

I'm not saying it won't happen, but logically it should be ironically less scalpable (TM) at a market inflated RRP than even a scalpers inflated RRP. (Looking at what ive written there it looks a bit off, but I hope you get the gist).

Personally would like a snazzy OoT one for the new replaceable battery version (i want a replaceable battery anyway, so will upgrade my og as soon as I can - though prederably with a new colourway, even though i do love the demure black it does hold onto fingerprints 🤣) to go with my off market SP and ToTK OLED and zelda lite.

I may not be great at these games since OoT, but man i hold a severe soft spot for Zelda themed consoles and the games!

Will happily take anything 1st party, as I have a PS5 pro for "everything else".

@zidane4028 well.as I said, i liked it if it meant it all ends the same via a different outcome (which frankly can be anything, the way these games are going!) But I don't think 100% it would be that. And yeah, but anything will be memed nowadays. If its not great, you can already see the headlines in a way: "less of a revelation, more of a realisation" or whatever. Im too tired to do that 🤣

It doesnt bother me much what they call it, if I'm honest, as I never really pay much attention to sub-titles, so I'm ok with it already.

@garfreek no spoilers, but things do change at the end of rebirth. Just takes 100+ hours to get there after all the side missions / games 🤣

Left me wanting the 3rd one to see where it goes... theres a fair bit of scope to change a lot now in the final game.

With regards to @Jireland92, Push square did the poll in the week, and they mentioned "restored" as an option, which could have worked, if the story works out and balances back to default timeline. The problem is though if that does happen, people would complain about massive spoilers before the game is even released 🤣

@Tyranexx yep, once you do the "highway chase" out of midgar, thats basically the end of remake. As you play the OG just consider basically each disk in the og is each game on modern games.

@FredsBodyDouble nope its a new mechanic, and fortnite was the 1st thing that came to my mind, so your not alone... but given the size of the highwind I can appreciate why they've done this for world map traversal.

I know completely nothing to do with switch, but for the love of God, please let this fix playing the ps4 version on ps5. I was going through a fresh run with that version and the save corrupted and lost about 15 hours worth of gameplay 🤣

@JohnnyMind agree with the challenge - trying to remember what everything does and sometimes forgetting so sometimes becomes trial and error for me, which is actually fun in a "what happens if I do this?" Kind of way.

Rated it a 7 myself, and at the same point (F1 and football has taken priority thos weekend) as yourself.

On topic, other reviewers have said it gets harder later on, as it keeps throwing more and more worlds at you; so I'm looking forward to that. I'm not a metacritic reader per se, but I do use 3 or so websites to get different opinions on games. Scores don't matter. Buy a gane based on whats said of it, if you like the series, and overall personal taste.

As I'll happily play anything Nintendo, I'm looking forward to this so it can fill the gap until I can relive my teen years with starfox 😁

Its an expensive hobby, but one I'm happy to pay for, when I can afford it and for the next couple of months, I'll be doing well (though still got to renew my rocksmith membership soon!).

@thenikdavies the piranha plant is cool, but stands on a swivel in the pipe. Do not let children (or greek inquisitive girlfriends in my experience) near it, or it will have the annoying habit of falling on the floor... like my mclaren did as well 🤣

As someone that bought the NES set only to realise how damned big it was, and then try and sell it when it was retired, it took me about 6 months to finally find a buyer and agree on the price.

As I have most of these though (on subject of the article) I'm golden, but still need to get the "big luigi" that recently came out!

@Drachma whilst I agree with the sentiment of yoshi and kirby games being "easy", it does sound a little gatekeeper of you to say that a company that develops family based games should all make hard as nails and (fairly) massively long platformers akin to galaxy / odyssey once a year.

Gaming is for everyone, and I appreciate these smaller "baby" games as something quick to play over a week or so (depending on time I have) and if i click with it, go for the 100%.

If it isnt for you, then move on - though the way you phrased your comment perhaps also says to me that you are definitely a fan of both franchises, and probably like me you just want a "harder" game once in a while. Problem is to me is that if they don't sell like Mario, they'll never see it as a good "gamble" to make a larger game. Kind of like an unfortunate ouroboros.

I mean I remember the DS one - with the babies - was it yoshis island DS? Hard as nails at points, especially the EX levels at the end. Swore a few times! I want that again myself, but that extra content would need eyes on it, and kids probably would give up.

Maybe things like that are best suited nowadays to DLC, unfortunately so us old heads can get our fix, and the base gane is still cheap to more casual users.

I'm not bashing you 100%; mainly pointing out how confusing your post is when you break it down, and then falling down a DLC rabbit hole 🤣

@PixelTavern as someone that prefers the gameplay and innovation over shiny graphics, i couldnt agree more with longer generational lifespans.

Seeing as production costs are only going up and up, there needs to be at very least further support for ps5 long term.

The thing is, ive always been an early adopter; and see the dichotomy in my own statement, whilst also understanding a console manufacturers "bottom line".

I guess strangely, if digital keeps going up and up with sales, then longer (older) gens can become a viable alternative whilst early adopters also absorb the cost of newer machines.

Although as someone that buys (games) nintendo physical and Sony digital now, I also see some contradiction potentially in that, if nintendo decide to (eventually) expand the SW2 cycle. Thankfully we're nowhere near that yet, obviously, so thats not a big deal.

And for full transparency to anyone wondering, I honestly have no plans of getting a PS6 due to these reported diminishing returns, cost and also the slightly extended length of the PS4 cycle.

In fact, I think the PS5 may well be my last "Big" console for quite some time (im a little fortunate in that i saw myself feeling this 18 months ago, so upgraded to a pro) and should the SW2 outlive that cycle, I'll happily play on that until a time that I decide that a PS6 may be worth getting; which at the minute is not a thought i really have.

N64 controller came today (I'm a 90s sicko!), so of course ill be playing on nso and the new one with those controls. Its a no-brainer! 🤣

Cost my relatives a fortune both on arcade and then at home (again, woth the console, game and light gun). At least we had the menacer 6 game cart as well - we used to love the toejam and earl game on that.

Im so bad when I was playing eternal darkness the once, I forgot about the in game system and went to click on a bath that I knew nothing was in, only to find a body in there and thats what freaked me out. Add to that Iwazaru from killer 7. First time he appeared in a safe room it scared the bejaysus out of me, and I stopped playing for a long time. Damned Japanese austentatious creatives 🤣

@Anachronism minishoot adventures is a (forgot the actual wording) s2 cart, but works also in sw1, and done by SRG.

I didnt bite for that though as I found it way to expensive. Even to the UK where I live, its £51.19 and whilst its "in line' with pricing, I cant afford to buy sw2 and sw1 carts like this at the cadence they release.

@Stormcloudlive no i didnt but I will look it up on YT or similar. Being around that time of the decade, I was most probably lured more to the terminator 2 gun game, until I finally got it with a menacer 🤣

Problem with me and games is im terrible at jump scares. Films I can always distance myself from within a few seconds. Games because you "are" the character, I get too into it and scares the bejasus out of me, hence why i dont play much by way of survival horror etc. Would much rather watch a playthrough of them and then I can still enjoy the gameplay and story at my own pace 🤣

@AndyCMK777 agreed on all fronts there, especially with regards to music. Im someone that .managed to get oasis tickets presale and spent near 1k on 3 tickets, not even knowing if they were still going to be together 11 months later 🤣

At least with a game, chances are you'll get a refund if it all goes to pot and you can buy the digital version anyway.

(Personally go the other way myself, but digital usually on ps5, then collect the dinky switch physical, so long as it runs well on the machine).

I'm currently into a gameboy phase, so will look for a copy of that. Got all nintendo published games (around 110), and always on the lookout for suggestions to booster that, so thanks! Problem i have like a lot of gb games is does it play fluidly, as obviously the limitations sometimes meant terrible scrolling, etc?

When I first ordered, with all the stories; it was with some trepidation, but ive had no problems myself and been using them now for 3 years.

Maybe ive just ordered games with little problems (only "standard" editions) or maybe ive been lucky.

Either way, this isnt for me. Reviews have been half and half, and whilst im a big alien fan, im not a big fan of alien games (except for the mega drive one of alien 3, for some bizarre reason!).

@Owozifa right, so i forgot I had to pre order yiik and goody two shoes, sp in total to here it cost just under 98USD - Around 75gbp.

I know there's a generational difference, but minishoot will be around £50 alone with postage to me minimum and thats coming from the UK 🤣

Like, I know there'll be a price difference between 1 and 2 and maybe I'm just being really picky, but £12 is a fair old chunk!

But good in you for getting front mission. I toyed with it, but sometimes I play my games then sell them to try and fund the next one, and I could only afford the two above!

@Owozifa as an example to the UK, adding a sw front mission 3 from LRG to my cart to come to the UK is 9USD postage and 9.80USD tax, so adds aeound 50% to the overall price. So all in all it works out about the same, so long as SRG has tax pre paid before checkout.

@Res462 juat remembered as well that VGP sometimes stock SRG stuff in on the other side of the Atlantic, so you might want to keep an eye on that.

Not sure if youve ever used them, but ive been using them since the GBA to get my imports from that side for over 20 years now, and can vouch for them.

@Res462 unfortunately we have to pay for postage in the UK too, so expect a small fortune (as an aside, someone wanted to buy a game from me on ebay this morning - offered me £50, ebay wanted £60 tax and postage - truly is mental now).

And will most probably be only SRG for this - ive been a member for a few years and cant recall many (if any) from the top of my head that have been published elsewhere other than digitally.
