Re: Review: HautePad M-Ultra Gen2 Arcade Controller For Switch & Switch 2 - Just A Hair From Perfection

@DennyCrane I must admit, your knowledge of my local ASDA is bizarre. You surely do live in the local area of my given location, near that place with the stream, and the jaguars dance amongst the twighlight grass, alive with the chirping of crickets and revelling heathens upon the mound. We must meet soon for a midnight lunch of caviar on roulette doritos, where we will drink on orange tango mead until the light.

Unfortunately, I did not mean Anthony Michael Hall. He was a bit of a beefcake, yes - but only capable of beating say the ultimate warrior in his prime. No.. I refer of course partly to Ilan Mitchell Smith. He should have been the true casting of the Eponymous Terminator. However, the true behemoth was of course Kelly Le Brock (who may or may not have been your type, after Gemma), who was originally supposed to have taken Arnie's role in Predator - however after dating Jean Claude Van Dam for only a few months, she gave up the role so she could marry him and have a real career. It was a genius move, as it really opened up her movie career - sadly, the jack kerouac adaption that she was working on never came to pass; it is well known in underground circles that it would have lifted her to stratospheric levels, had she completed the screenplay, but she fell asleep in 1990 and realised she had already filmed Hard to Kill.

Im well aware of where Mr Motivator went; I was part of the crack team sent in to extract him and Mr Blobby. We managed to salvage their lives with the odd daytime TV appearance, but their souls have forever been taken unfortunately. Mr M believes he is still 27, and often has late night bare knuckle fist fights with Diana Moran at the Co Op in Walthamstow High Street, for daytime slots.

Anyway, I must bid adieu. The darkness of the night is calling me, and my eyes live no longer. Perhaps, perchance come the morn they shall revive once more; but i fear this night may be my last, for i have punched too many eggs; and now all I see are chocolate buttons scattered across the room - akin to Sid Vicious in his prime.

Adieu, good friend.
Adieu.

(Honestly, been a good laugh!)

@DennyCrane FML 🤣🤣🤣

Now that is a response worthy of burning down forests for servers to discuss topics 🤣🤯🤪

Can I join the ASBC, or is it a Blackbutton event? I acrually know Frank, he works in ASDA - I wonder why he had the title in the George department of "button somelier", whilst doing lavish tingle-like dancing and throwing light confetti in the shape of buttons (with individual holes punched into them) whenever someone approached him. Maybe i shouldn't be so scared next time and show him my boxers, which are 3 botton fly... I dont know how he is inclined, but it could maybe go in my favour or be laughed out of the department by him and "Gemma the hemmer", who does ad hoc repairs behind the counter for cash in hand.

As for the chocolate buttons, I must confess you are one of us (me for i am legion and many; also slightly insane) for i too live Cadbury buttons from an egg, but the egg must be frozen first so I can smash it with a fist / dead relatives fist (i have many lying around the house, just dont tell anyone), to pretend I am a ninja / Arny / Sly / Weird Science Nerd or any other 80s hard man.

@DennyCrane well of it was a serious post, I really would have wanted more context. Why do you like buttons so much? Do you mean chocolate? What type of chocolate? What's your favourite type of stitch with which to affix an button? How many buttons are in your collection? Have you ever stolen money to fulfil your button habit?

So. MANY. QUESTIONS! Breathes heavily

Re: Review: HautePad M-Ultra Gen2 Arcade Controller For Switch & Switch 2 - Just A Hair From Perfection

Slideaway1983

@DennyCrane I cant take full responsibility for it. Whenever I hear someone say "I like..." I also say that as it was something I heard many times with my cousin when she used to watch fosters home for imaginary friends... "I like chocolate milk" was a catchphrase, and there was one episode where they were building a box car and they argued on the livery between flames and bunnies... so all in all thank (i think) cartoon network circa 2000, as well as my autistic brain for remembering stuff that is blatantly more important than say the national minimum wage 🤣

Re: Xbox Reiterates Its Support For Switch 2

Slideaway1983

I put that I'm not really interested, but only because I would buy it on ps5.

And the fact thats it UE5 (the same as borderlands 4) should really be considered with the mess on both ps5 for some, and the delay of that gane to S2.

If they do it and it works, fair play and im happy for people to play one of the "holy grails" on S2!

Re: Poll: How Many New Games Do You Buy In A Year?

Slideaway1983

12 or more a year easily, when I buy all 1st party, quite a few 3rd party switch / 2 games (from srg, lrg etc) and then the playstation.

I'd go as far as to say physically I maybe bought around 100 last year - some ive kept, some ive sold - though I am downsizing my 3rd party games.

Re: Round Up: The Reviews Are In For Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 On Switch

Slideaway1983

@HingryHuppo oh come on, everyone knows that 1 fun is equal to 5 happiness which in turn is 27 contents.

From there, we extrapolate your age (in my case 41), times it by current time of day (Just past 10pm), which gives us 410, and then divide that by 27 contents that brings us an approximate fun level of 15.18 - which we then multiply by how many chocolate bars we've eaten today (8) = 121.48.

So with that, we then divide the fun x chocolate by the price of the game (49.95 gbp on amazon) which FINALLY gives us a fun to cost ratio of 2.432 if you are all of the following:

Living in the UK right now, and
Fat.

Its not brain science or rocket surgery! 🤪

Re: Borderlands 4 Has Been Delayed For Switch 2, Digital Pre-Orders Cancelled

Slideaway1983

@NorrinRadd can confirm im around 75 hours in (including pause menus etc) and on a pro and has started to show signs of bad stuttering (id guess less than 30fps, and at one point in multiplayer actually freezing and kicking me to an error screen). It does get worse the more you play; and I say that as someone that has both had long sessions day one and leaving the console in standby and coming back to it. Its got to the point now where I just shut the entire console down after 2 hours and reboot - and id say that opening more of the world is part of the problem, as well as particles/ sprites from more graphically challenging weapons also contribute to these problems, considering i was using a multi mirv... so yes, im definitely speaking from experience. 👍

Re: Newcomers Can Break Final Fantasy VII Remake With New Difficulty Settings

Slideaway1983

@Markatron84 bravo for that statement... unless of course every worldwide publisher reads NL... 🤔🤣

***edit*** great options as well, from someone that Platinumed ps4 and ps5 - will give the harder moments some leeway for people just wanting to know the story!

Some people will never understand the feeling of taking on tonberries and hell house on hard mode with no "cheats" 🤣

Re: Ubisoft Employee Explains Why Star Wars Outlaws Is A Game-Key Card

Slideaway1983

@kmtrain83 thats a word soup - i haz brainz but lot big word! 🤣

But yeah I sort of know what you mean.

After I went mad in ps3 and ps4 buying all sorts of games, I did buy a ps5 in the November/ December of 2020 with the drive, but as I noticed less 1st party games coming out (that I was interested in) i just stopped buying 1st party. Now I did buy Ratchet, gt7, astro bot etc on disc, but everything else is digital for me from now on.

As im usually a one and done gamer anyway, having a "license" to play a digital game doesnt bother me too much; but woth nintendo, I often have my friends and family now and again saying they want to play x y or z, so im glad to buy that physical as it will be used at some point.

I guess its just the universal language of nintendo; my cousin has a switch and isnt great at games (and she's 30) and loves to play Mario party / co op mario with me; my partner (mid 40s) loves to play bowling on switch sports / worldwide games; so to me they are worth holding onto.

On the other hand if I turn around to them and say why dont you have a go on ragnarok, its usually "it looks good, but too complex for me"... my cousin loved watching me play ff16 a couple of years back, but wouldn't touch it because of relative chaos to her non gamer brain - and therefore not worth being physical in general because ill never play it again (and resale im not bothered about, as i usually only buy games i want to try, and if I dont like them, thats my fault for buying it, and at least ive supported them).

So again, there's pros and cons

Re: Ubisoft Employee Explains Why Star Wars Outlaws Is A Game-Key Card

Slideaway1983

@SBandy1 the drama is only there if you make it so. Im a physical collector of switch but dgiital buyer on PS5; and dont complain about game keys cards, digital or physical in any way. I understand the pros and cons of all of them.

I could make all of the above an issue in either "not all on card / disc", "im only renting a license", "someone could steal my collection" (insert own arguments as applicable!), but at the end of the day its down to the devs / publishers how they sell their product.

Now I know i 64gb cart is $23 dollars though, I can understand the costs of switch 2 games a little clearer, so again, a negation of a problem given that means say MKW was actually £60 minus cart costs; and when you add cost of living / production / wages and whatever else, as long as there's content, £75 a game isnt actually that bad, compared to a £70 PS5 game, in my eyes.

***edit, I mean by comparison a PS5 disk is around $1.50 (£1.15) compared to a switch cart***

Re: UK Charts: Metal Gear Solid 3 And Gears Of War Shake Up The Top Ten

Slideaway1983

Is a code in a box (CIAB) classed as a boxed game / physical?

If so, I wonder how many units LRG have shifted of shinobi, as opposed to CIAB... or even are they lumped together, or do LRG not count for some very specific reason?

It's a very strange thing seeing a relatively well reviewed cheap game being so low, at least to me anyway; though I understand some are waiting on Silksong etc...

Re: Opinion: We Need To Talk About X Games

Slideaway1983

You've only just noticed? As a relatively old man (41) ive seen it for years in collaborations and just thought "why dont they just say "and"?!" I mean, its the same amount of syllables. When you say it out loud, it makes no sense, and if youre marketing it, surely you can afford 2 more letters in your printing 🤣

Re: Video: We've Played Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade On Switch 2

Slideaway1983

@rjejr id actually say remake is fine as a standalone title, as opposed to say rebirth. True, its a relatively open ending, but thats a lot better than potentially playing rebirth as a standalone, around a third through a story and (as it stands) waiting on part 3 anyway!

I get what you mean with waiting though. After platting remake, the wait for rebirth was insanely long, even knowing it wasn't necessarily far away. And when rebirth did arrive, I found much too much busy work, that bloated the game into a giant mission map / collectathon etc. Hence why i would recommend pt1 as a standalone, if all the extra stuff in pt2 isnt your cup of tea.

Personally, im looking forward to a more streamlined pt3, and im one that did everything when iy came to sidemissions / games but who knowswhat others prefer (it is better value for money, but to appreciate it, you also beed to have invested in the original remake)...

Hope that makes sense, as i feel like im veering here 🤣
