I doubt it really matters. You'll get used to it either way. I'm right handed, but the thought alone of using the right stick as the primary one with ABXY buttons on the left, makes me nauseous to the point I could vomit.
Aight, I'm reading this at 2AM while having work tomorrow, so at least I'm glad I can just go to sleep, without having to fire up my Switch & checking out all kinds of new stuff first.
@MongolRaider Well I really feel that way because it just heavily relies on jump scares, as it's not really scary in any other way. This is because the AI isn't anything to write home about. It's barely AI to begin with. Enemies just walk around in circles, in given and predictable patterns.
And when they do spot you, you can just always run to the same friggin' locker to hide in, 'cause if an enemy doesn't check a locker once, that means it never will. There's just no reason to be scared at all. I really digged the game's setting and atmosphere, but it lacked depth because it's technically so barebones and to me, it's not worth 20 bucks and calling it the best horror game ever is more horrifying than the game itself.
Nonetheless, if you did enjoy it so much then I'm happy for you and I hope you'll enjoy the portable edition once more. I'm looking into Outlast II, never tried that one and I hope they've improved upon these issues.
@kobashi100 This game was 20 bucks at launch. The game is old, the profits were reaped years ago across multiple platforms and porting it wasn't nearly as much work as when they first created it from the ground up. Considering those variables I'd say half of its current price would be more adequate.
As it stands it's just easy cashing. But hey, who's to blame them. I'm passing on it though.
20 bucks for such an old and average game that has been available on multiple devices for years? No thanks. I mean, it's nowhere near as pathetic as Skyrim, but still.
Even if I deliberately try to imagine the most trashy thing in existence, it's still not bad compared to the pathetic, tiresome, utter garbage a Black Ops 4 would actually be in real life.
Nice and all but I'm done with Odyssey and XC2, already played BotW to death on my Wii U and finished Skyrim, Doom and L.A. Noire years ago on PC, where I'm still playing Rocket League.
So I'm pretty much wondering what I'm supposed to do with it. I'm not that interested in all those freaking indies and average games like Lost Sphear so I need new titles man, and I don't mean all those Wii U ports I've already played thoroughly... There's like two games to look forward to at this moment and they're both far from releasing. FFS. Why does this thing sell so fast again?
Would be so pathetic if it ends up being 720p. I know its Wii U architecture which isn't easily optimized for Switch architecture and all, but still it doesn't exactly bring confidence in Switch horsepower/third party support if it can't run this game at 1080p despite that.
Getting 1 and 2 on Wii U soon though. Love the price drop the Switch announcement caused in stores here.
Man, I just hope they'll value resolution over detail. I'd much much rather have a few less grass blades or shiny walls than having those things but seeing everything at sub-HD. The blur effect this brings in Doom (most notorious in its MP) gets to the point where you can barely read on screen text in menus. Either res > detail or just keep optimizing until you can have both, because I really believe it'd be possible.
Will pick this up on Switch just like Doom anyway, though, because portability and sexy device.
@Geeks4Life If you play it in tabletop mode, you'll usually sit a bit farther away than when you have the console in your hands in handheld mode. This will make the res drop less noticable and it will actually look amazing again, coming out of such a small device.
But yeah, when you play in handheld mode on a train or wherever and the screen is quite close to your face, the lower resolution starts to bug you because the textures will be too close to remain sharp. I'd say if you're not at home and want to play XC2, always use tabletop when you're able to.
Map update is very welcome. I'd also love it if they'd be able to optimize the game a bit more, perhaps enough to stop the resolution from dropping as much as it ofttimes does portably.
But this game is life. I went in without many expectations, but it overwhelmed me and got me addicted as all hell. It's so fantastic...

Thanks for a lame update, N!
Re: This Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Linkle Mod Isn't Official, But It Really Should Be
No thanks. This is just as stupid as making Samus Aran a male.

@kobashi100
Then I'll keep on passing.
@NintendoFan4Lyf
That just means it's overpriced there as well.

Re: Review: The Darkside Detective (Switch eShop)
Ah, another utterly forgettable, stupid 8-bit indie game. Tiring! But at least the library is bigger than the Wii U's was at this point!
Re: Switch Now Has Three Times As Many Games as Wii U Did At This Point In Its Lifecycle
Yeah well that's easy when you port the entire library of the Wii U on to the Switch.

As long as it eventually works, I don't care.
Re: World Of Goo Studio Is Bringing 7 Billion Humans To Nintendo Switch
Seven billion? Guess that automatically makes the Switch the best selling gaming platform of all time.
Re: Max: Curse Of Brotherhood Is Getting A Physical Release On Switch
The demo runs at a solid smooth 15 - 20 fps. How's the final release?
Re: Rumour: A New Perfect Dark Game Is In Development, But Rare Isn't Involved
Xbox One exclusive huh? Sounds like I'll be playing it on my PC then.

Awesome.

Re: Nintendo Direct Mini Is Happening Right Now
A Direct full of mostly PC and Wii U games I've already played to 100% completion, with some exceptions that don't interest me at all.
Boy do I hope this is a 'mini' version, with a greater Direct still to come.
Re: GameStop Tweets About Nintendo Direct, Then Quickly Deletes The Tweet
Nintendo's probably sitting back and enjoying our misery.
They sure have mastered the art of building up hype and anticipation pretty darn quick. Perhaps that's partly thanks to the new president.

Never been this easy.
1. BotW
2. Odyssey
3. XC2
4. Splatoon 2
