Video game publisher Wired Productions has revealed that it is to release the Switch title Max: The Curse of Brotherhood in physical form on March 23rd. The game is expected to retail for around £24.99 / €29.99 / $29.99.
Originally released for the Xbox One and Windows PC, Max: The Curse of Brotherhood has gained a cult following over the past few years thanks to its engaging 2.5D gameplay and attractive visuals.
We awarded the Switch eShop release 8/10 recently, saying:
It isn’t quite perfect, and there are several small areas where we feel the game could be improved, but ultimately we had a great time playing through the adventure and enjoyed the core mechanic. It can’t quite compete with the true elites of its genres but it is definitely a welcome addition to the eShop - if you love the puzzle-platform genre and want to add another game to your collection, this wouldn’t be a bad place to start.
Will you be picking this one up in physical form?

I was originally waiting for a sale but now I'll be waiting for the physical form. I'll be looking forward to this one!
The demo runs at a solid smooth 15 - 20 fps. How's the final release?
This looks really good!
That's a pretty loaded logo for the publishing house bringing a family friendly game to Switch, but hey, anything to make this happen.
Also, it says here the dev and publisher is StageClear.
I'm pretty sure it's developed by Press Play, who is now Flashbulb, and published by Wired Productions, with the porting to Switch alone handled by StageClear.
This game is fun.
@damo It's $14.99 on Steam, Xbox One and Nintendo eShop, but $29.99 physical on Switch and no mention of the "Switch tax"? You're slacking.
I have played the demo of the xbox one version, but never picked up the game, glade I waited now I can get a physical retail copy now. I would rather have a retail copy over a digital copy anytime.
@rjejr if it is $29.99 on Switch eShop, then it's Switch tax.
@RyanSilberman Switch tax isn't really about the cost of the game though, it's about the mark-up for the price of the cart. And $15 is a lot of mark-up.
@rjejr but relative to what? There are no other physical versions to compare this to, no?
Good thing I hadn't bought the digital version yet.
@RyanSilberman "There are no other physical versions to compare this to, no?"
OK, that's a fair point.
But as much as I prefer physical or digital, I'd never pay $30 for a game I could get for $15 that same day on that same console. Too rich for my blood.
With so many games I CAN'T get to because of so many good games to play, it's nice to know that waiting has its benefits. I wasn't exactly pining for Max, but still... to know there's games in my backlog I can rent is a great relief to my wallet. Keep the physicals coming, please!
Such a good game !!
The Switch needs a release of Rad Rogers: World one
Would be pretty cool if they included the first Wiiware game as a Switch port to this second Xbox360 game port.
