Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Ryno

@rjejr: Curse you for correcting me (Like 12 hours ago, but hey I got to take a break from the Splatoon review comment section sometime)!!!
Untitled

@JaxonH: I agree that this game may feel more complete by the end of @rjejr's Summer Splatoon Olympics. I was really looking forward to this game and believe it has potential but Nintendo has really turned this long time fan off with this whole thing.

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Ryno

@Chaoz : Compared to most games, the Splatoon demo was a larger percentage of the game! No wonder Nintendo limited the demo to only 3, actually 4 hours.

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Ryno

@akaDv8R: I played the demo and got bored before the hours was up. I say it's a rushed game along with others. If this game was half the price ($30 or even $40 instead of $60) I wouldn't have a problem with a 3-5 hour single player campaign and 5 multiplayer maps (2 of which can only played per hour).

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Ryno

@outburst: If you want to pay full price upfront and get the rest of something later then by all means, go right ahead. My point about spending more money on Splatoon amiibos is that you can spend $95 (for the game and all the amiibo and not including taxes) and still have an incomplete game.

Are people excited about the future of video gaming??? Half complete games being released at full price to meet launch dates with future updates and/or season passes to fill out the other half of the game? And now look at Mortal Kombat X, not even the season pass owners will get all DLC. We are being treated like mobile gaming users except we have to pay $60 up front instead of .99 cents.

@Ichiban: Well Said!

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Ryno

@sinalefa: I dont have a PS4 so haven't been following The Order.

@rjejr: Congratulations on your sons achievement (and yours). Yes, I made the last couple of gifs. When you are purchasing Splatoon for $60.00 (plus tax) and maybe buying some amiibos, can you report back to me what was going through your mind and how you came to peace with that decision?

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Ryno

@Chaoz: Call me old school, but I like to get what I pay for and not wait.

@Ryu_Niiyama: I get that some people are fine with paying full price for this but to me this just sets a new precedent for Nintendo. For the longest time Nintendo was all about chocking their games full of content at launch but now it seems like that is no longer one of their principles. At least with Zelda U they delayed it instead of releasing the other half of the game (or however long) later on. Oh well, on to the future of DLC to fill out a game!

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Ryno

@moomoo: I agree with you and I didn't even consider the lack of modes either like you just mentioned.

Maybe this is like Nintendo's Halo 2, i.e. the infant stage of a companies online multiplayer, though thats not really accurate because that had more modes and it was 11 years ago!

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Ryno

@Chaoz: I love the people that are willing to spend $60.00 for a game that is so lacking in content. Nintendo really does have the most loyal customer base.

@rjejr: Maybe pertaining to Nintendo of America only. Untitled

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Ryno

@rjejr: The thing is, I knew it wasn't going to be a big single player experience. The whole thing seems rushed and what bothers me is that If you decide to release a rushed game then at least reflect that in the price point.

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Ryno

Oh, and to top off the $60 for an incomplete game, you can spend another $35 for "challenges!" For $35 with other companies at least I can get new maps or single player levels.

Re: Review: Splatoon (Wii U)

Ryno

Nintendo should be embarrassed for releasing such an incomplete game for $60. A 3-5 hour single player and 5 maps of which 2 are only playable every hour??? I was going to ask for this for my birthday or Father's day (both in June) but I would feel bad for having someone spend $60.00 on such a weak offering. Please understand this Nintendo, you are out of touch. I'm more excited about the 10 year old remaster, Legend of Kay, than Nintendo's all new take on the shooter genre. This game will need to drop in price before I, or have someone else splash some cash on this.

Re: Nintendo Download: 21st May (North America)

Ryno

@Tasuki: Crazy, huh? I bet you didn't think I would get back on the Sony bandwagon?
@rjejr: I thought you were going to buy Splatoon, The Incomplete Edition for me?
@Uberchu: I am rich and I have huge backlog.

Re: Splatoon Global Testfire Demo Confirmed For This Weekend

Ryno

@rjejr: i didn't watch the direct so I have been catching up. LOL, $60.00 (and maybe an additional $35.00 for amiibo) for an incomplete online multiplayer game with shoehorned-in single player? No thanks, I think I will wait for a sale and the rest of the game.

Re: Feature: What We Want to See in the Splatoon Direct

Ryno

I can't believe we have come to the point of hotly anticipating DLC. Anyway, I have definitely cooled on this game. I'm not really into online multiplayer so unless this game has a strong single player component or @rjejr buys it for me I may not get this game in the foreseeable future.

Re: Three New Nintendo 3DS Bundles Heading to Europe on 26th June

Ryno

@rjejr: Once again, you nailed it. Nintendo rides the coat tails of their games for to long. I'm tired of just hearing about XBX, how about a release date already? As for Splatoon, well the hype just seems to be artificially fueld due to he drought of other games. I'm actually thinking about getting Legend of Kay in May instead of Splatoon. I don't follow the 3DS that much but seems to late to announce these bundles and from what I hear they don't have much announced for the future.

Re: The Mechs of Xenoblade Chronicles X Are Named "Skells" in its Western Release

Ryno

Skell definition per Wikipedia: Skell, as a stereotypical or archetypal designation, refers to a person who is homeless, vagrant or derelict. It is often used to connote such a person who is habitually engaged in small-time criminal activity, especially by one working as a con artist or panhandler.

This is as bad as "Wigger Wedneday."
