That sums up the point I'm trying to make perfectly. You don't like something? Great, more power to ya, but you shouldn't need terms like "kiddie" or being "older" to validate your taste. Your the only one making such claims, nobody else is, not even fans of those "kiddie" games, are trying to make a case either way. In other words, its completely unnecessary. Your starting an argument where there doesn't need to be.
@mh1989 Thats not Nintendo though, nor does it have anything to do with their games being "kiddie" as you claim. Neither Ridge Racer nor F1 have any qualities that make them inherently "mature", no more so than games like F-Zero, StarFox, Project S.T.E.A.M, and such. Your confusing 'dark', 'gritty', and 'realistic' for "mature", none of which are synonyms
Terms like "kiddie" are nothing more than scapegoats, theres nothing mature or grown up about using them to describe something, your actually doing the opposite. The only time I've heard them is from kids going through their 'grown-up' phase.
Heres a little food for thought-http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=9Y_mG3kiV8M
@Porky I've heard stories like that before, its just some less than honest employees trying to boost their numbers. The only reason for these in-store events is to draw customers to the store, in this case OR/AS is coming out and they're hoping you'll pre-order while there.

@mh1989 And exactly what defines something as "kiddie""? Honestly, I've never actually heard a mature person use such a term. Throwing around terms like "kiddie" as if they mean something, as if they make one sound mature and sophisticated for using them, is infact a hallmark of immaturity. Do you remember that quote by C.S Louis?
@Spoony_Tech Its not Nintendo whos in charge of MH4U though, where as they own Brownie-Brown/1-UP studio, and are publishing Fantasy Life outside of Japan. Same with Xenoblade. They don't really have a say in what Capcom does with Monster Hunter, its made and published by them, and Capcom has no reason to remove CCP compatibility from their game.
Besides, our version if Fantasy Life was two separate versions in Japan, where as MH4U is the same as the Japanese version. Both it and the original vetsion has CCP support, and MH4U is essentially just a complete edition that skips the expansion packs all together.
Pretty amusing, some of the reactions were sorta cringe worthy, but the positive outlook towards the end was nice to see. Their answers to "would kids today tolerate it" was actually pretty surprising, in a good way. You wouldn't expect to hear that from people their age.
I think people are over-reacting a bit though. Yea, theres no reason they have to or should know much if anything about old systems, but there isn't any reason they couldn't either.
They could easily have still owned or at least played them. One guy even called the NES the "vinyl of gaming", which puts a damper on the "before their time" argument. That would be just as unreasonable, but somehow gets a pass in favor of calling out people for sounding like crotchety old geezers. Chances are most people know about and even take interest in things from before their time. Gaming is no exception.
@crzysortagamer True, the coins are a 'bonus' but they're also the main point of Nintendo's reward program. The value you get for the coins directly influences the value of the program. These rewards don't really 'cost' them anything because they're digital, so even the 'loss' of the sale is likely cheaper than manufactering and distributing physical prizes. They're also older games that had they're time to generate profit, thats why Nintendo staggers VC games in the first place.
You should also consider that to get enogh coins for these rewards you have to buy 4-5 games based on their coin value. Thats $200-$300 for a $10 or less game. Thats 5% at most. For your average consumer that would only be 1-2 rewards a year, plus the gold/platinum one. Less so for physical goodies.
@unrandomsam
Because doing it that way would be a big mess and clutter up their channel along with peoples' subscription feeds. This is a two part series (so far), so you would just have what would have been 5-10min. videos broken up into 20-30 or so 10-20sec. ones. They're not all just "tricks" either. Doing it your way doesn't make sense from a practicality stand point.
Theres also the entertainment aspect, so its the difference between, say, watching the discovery and reading the magazine.
On Sony "copying" the SNES design with the dualshock, people do remember Sony and Nintendo originally collaborated on it, right? I don't think it was 'copycating' so much as reusing (and possibly altering) part of the console they were originally working on. In all fairness, everyone now copies their design, even Nintendo.
@KingMike I belive your right, they covered the N64 during a 'history of' series or something they doing for Nintendo's consoles if I remember right.
@CaviarMeths Same here. Maybe a more tradtional-style RPG, active-time like Tales of perhaps? PokemonXDigimon is the most obvious one, and could have been a Project X-zone like cross-over.
Thats all I can really think of that they do that'd mix well with Pokemon, besides a different style fighting game.
@rjejr The former. You were misding your trademark so I literally couldn't tell. I suspected as much though, but with the lack of expression and this being the internet and all, you never know.
And yea, Japan doesn't really like Xbox, but it does have a cult following apparently.
@unrandomsam "If they just put translations into the Japanese release and it was playable then they could do that for more games than doing a full localisation."
Last I checked, most people prefer games in their language, one that they can easily understand. "Playable" is highly subjective and normally just squaking in quality. Barring all but the mist niche games (which normally just lack an English dub), if I'm shelling out $40-$60 for a game released on my home soil, I would expect more than just "playable" for my investment in their product.
Localization isn't just translation of text, its a translation if the game itself. In quite a few cases, companies have built their name on their localization, and a good part of a game's charm comes from it. In fact, even some of Nintendo's own games are popular due to their localization, namely Animal Crossing and Mario&Luigi. Mario himself has always had an English voice actor. Its not something to simply skimp on, and doing so comes of as cheap and shoddy, harming the quality of the game itself.
@Frapp Aw man, if people though Peco's subspecies was annoying, wait untill they get a load of this guy. Can't wait to take my bow n' arrow to Gypceros's face once again, along with Yian Garuga.
@IceClimbers
Yea, Tomodachi Life is definitely a game that screams 'Japanese' if I ever saw one. Don't have the game myself, but boy I've seen the GIFs.
I'd say Nintendo does better than a lot of companies when it comes the localization. Theres not too much we don't get, Animal Crossing is the only one I know of that was "too weird" for western audiences.
@Kolzig has a good point about the account system being the issue. I wonder if it isn't due to everything being tied to the hardware rather than a separate account, so there is no way to region-lock just the accounts.
@IceClimbers The problem with that is, going by Nintendo logic even with region-locking we might not get games. It certainly didn't encourage them to localize Xenoblade or the other Project Rainfall games. We almost didn't get Animal Crossing at all, what saved it was Tree House playing around with the localization and everyone loved what they did. For one reason or another we never got the sequel to Hotel Dusk.
At least without regio-locking there wouldn't be anything stopping you assuming the game is already in a language you understand. There really is no goid reason for it. Any "legal" or "cultural" reasons Sony and Microsoft have to deal with as well, Nintendo isn't special in that regard. Its not their job to be helicopter parents for their customers either.
The 3DS doesn't really need the boost, and Japan likes their handhelds as much as we like our consoles. I wouldn't surprised if Nintendo is holding off so they can focus on Japan, just as Sony did the exact opposite with the PS4. Its launching with MH4U too, and you can just imagine how that will turn out. Japan loves their Monster Hunter.
@Mega719 Its not 3rd-parties that are declining. Notice how its mostly 3rd-party games on that list? The only 1st party games are MK8, Yoshi's New Island, Hyrule Warriors, and The Last of Us Remastered. The fact is, at least for the Vita, Japan is getting games we aren't, and these otherwise 'niche' games are popular over there. Moster Hunter and Dragon Quest are good examples here, the latter is actualky more popular than Square's 'flagship' Final Fantasy.
Your right about the Wii U getting shoddy ports though, after all if I have another platform why would I buy version thats missing DLC and whatnot? The problem is, there isn't much left of exclusivity these days, certainly not in the AAA market. The only games that tend to be exclusive anymore are those 'niche' games that usually stick to the platform they sell best on. Unfortunately, Wii U is missing out on both ends.
Can't say I have much if any sympathy for them, not when you have companies like Atlus, XSEED, or NIS, that make a living localizing games that are considered 'too risky' by most other companies. Surely much bigger companies like SE are far more capable than they are, especially when its their second largest franchise, the game Enix built its reputation on?
At the very least they could localize the DQM remakes, they would still need to do it from scratch but they aren't very text heavy originally being GBC games and all.
@minotaurgamer
Thats not why the N64 and Gamecube did poorly. They made some strange design choices that alienated 3rd-parties, along with some quedtionable policies and their overall additude towards them. When they left their fans followed.
Miyamoto never once said the word casual, people are just infering thats what he means by "passive". Passive being those who don't take an active interest, they expect you to entertainment them, rather than look for what they want themselves. They don't want to try something new on their own or challenge themselves. I guess you could say they're the type who wants to have their hand held, spoon-fed, whatever you wanna call it.
Your stages of grief argument doesn't work, your connecting events that don't have anything to do with one another. Further more, you could consider your "denial" point to be optimism, and Reggie's "whats wrong with you" isn't anger, its his way of saying "your cazy to miss this". Its a marketing stcik, just like "get N or get out".
@OmegaStar I doubt they'll completely drop those games, since they'll need something to round out their selection. The way it sounds Miyamoto considers 'core' gamers just anybody who takes an active interest, those who seek games that interest them.
Animal Crossing has become a big part of Nintendo now, so it appeals to more than just 'casuals'. I'd put it up there with the Sims or Harvest Moon, both have a good mix of core/casual elements that keeps them from alienating either side. I'd say sims and puzzles in general are pretty neutral actually.
@HyperSonicEXE Isn't that what your doing? You have no proof of the time-frame of development either, yet you insist it "would have been in the game".
We don't know that for sure, but chances are if it wasn't released as DLC you'd either have to wait for MK9 or they wouldn't have made it at all. Thats usually what happens with scrapped ideas. The former would require you buy an entirely new console and a $60 game, this DLC can be had for Just $12. Which do you find more appealing?
Link, villager, and Isabelle in Mario Kart sounds weird, but seeing it it actually fits together pretty well. I guess Smash Bros. kinda helps with that, and Mario Kart isn't exactly canon to anything either so its not too far off.
For some reason looking at this version of villager I can't help but think of the old Animal crossing commercials.
@HyperSonicEXE Then thats your problem isn't it? You just assumed that there would be no DLC, that Nintendo wouldn't change a thing. Nintendo has been making DLC for its other games, so why wouldn't they do so for Mario Kart?
If your argument hinges on the assumption that the DLC was made along side the game then you have a rather weak case. We don't know either way. It may have been started while the game was still being developed, after all it makes sense for devs to move on to the next project after they finish the current one, but that doesn't mean it was finished by the time the game launched.
At any rate, 6 characters, 8, vehicles, and 16 tracks is a lot of content to just squeeze into development, and its not actually due out until November so what could they possibly doing if not working on it? If its already done as you assume why wait 6-months?
The Wii U is just too expensive to be a "secondary" console, even if people want Mario, Zelda, and so on those games come with an additional $300 investment. Thats a big investment that they might not have time to get their money's worth out of. Same thing the other way around.
I'll probably go with a Wii U as my sole next gen console if anything, then pick up a PS4 later down the line when its cheap for all the JRPGs and other stuff I missed, like I did last gen. I have my 3DS and PS3 for a lot of those kind games right now, so I'll be plenty busy for a while, and with the Wii U I'd be all set.
@JaxonH I'd have to agree with you that people are just acclimated to western-style games more now a days. I don't think its a case of other games slipping or anything, a lot of western games just stuck to PC, now they've migrated over and the two markets have merged. With it came huge Hollywood-style budgets and marketing. Anyone familiar with the movie industry should knows what that means.
This is pretty cool, I don't listen to music on my 3DS a whole lot but I do have a handful of favorites on it for convenience sake, and this feature kills two birds with one stone.
Smash Bros. has quite a bit of music in too, easily an album or two worth, so it adds a bit more value to the game as well.
I actually like this one better than the original, it looks cleaner and doesn't scream 'for kids' quite as much as the original anime themed version. Although I do prefer the deeper colors of the old board's artwork.
I don't really see anything wrong with it either way, its pretty typical women's sports wear. Shes dressed no differently than a female MMA fighter, just with the addition of her jet boots.
Considering shes entering whats essentially a fighting competition the outfit is rather appropriate, and certainly no more outlandish than little Little Mac wearing nothing more than boxing shorts, a tank-top, and boxing gloves. Then theres the Wii fit trainer, whos dressed roughly the same way.
Saying that she should be or needs to wear her power suit also implies she isn't capable enough without it, which is the entire point of 'zero suit' Samus.
@Rin-go The fact that other companies had to intervene even with Project Rainfall says otherwise, that and Reggie came right out and said they didn't think theres much interest in those kind of games. Even then they only localized Xenoblade, and only after Gamestop offered to handle manufacturing and distribution. At any rate, the fact that people question their intent is a problem in and of itself.
As for importing, you have to keep import costs and the like in mind too, and its not a question of what people can or can't afford. Why should people have to import another console? There is no reason, except Nintendo wants that extra console sale, and that certainly isn't a good one.
And as for your response to IceClimber's post, if that were true that would make every Sony consoles since the PS2 a major anomaly. In cases where that would be an actual concern they could just region-lock the disk.
@IceClimbers
No, it doesn't, no more so than any other company. It doesn't force them to localize anything, otherwise Project Rainfall never would have happened. I doubt even Nintendo would think such logic is reasonable, not that they ever give actual explanations for it anyway.
At least without region-locking the option to import and play them still exists, and doesn't require modifications or importing consoles. The latter would be another reason not to remove region locking though.
@WYLD-WOO
No, he had the right term. After all, where do you think 'Life Hacker' or 'Ikea hacker' comes from? They have nothing to do with the modern association of the term "hacker".
Anyone who tinkers with existing things in order to make them better or solve problems and shares those ideas can be called a hacker.
@tux_peng I've seen themed ice cube trays before, wouldn't be surprised if there are Mario themed trays out there.
I just thought of something though, what if instead of a bucket of ice water, he rented a dunk-tank and fills it with ice water?
@Mario500 Thats the whole point. Doing something ridiculous like this help it stick in peoples' minds. How is this any different than a dunk-tank booth at a carnival-style fundraiser?
Also, the latter two parts of your complaint only make sense for the person doing it, and they can opt out. It just so happens people are choosing both options, so really your complaining about people doing something of their own volition.
@3MonthBeef At least he acknowledged where screwed up and is being reasonable about it. Most people that say the wrong thing on social media (and many do) tend to just continue shoving their foot in their mouth even further.
I really have no clue how you one-up an ice water bucket challenge. Dye the water and ice Mario colors? Beats the heck outta me.
@SilentHunter382 Same here, nothing jumps out at me besides other Nintendo execs. Maybe thats how he'll one-up it, by getting even higher level execs involved.
@unrandomsam Hows that relevant now though? Even if they could back then game development used a lot less resources to make and get out the door with a modest-sized team. Now Retro is basically about the size of Atlus at a time where development takes easily twice as long.
@Kaze_Memaryu
You'd think so, but the 'G' versions of the series have actually beaten the originals in sales in Japan, by at least a little bit.
MH4 is also one of the highest selling games as well though, so who knows. Interestingly, it seems the games based on the 2nd generation (the 'portable' series) sells the best.
@yuwarite For all the reasons the free games on the official site aren't, because thats all this is. Its not really a 'full' game per say, more like a companion app/simulator for the TCG. The TCG hasn't really been tied to the rest of the franchise or even Nintendo at all (beside being Pokemon), so I don't see what needs to be "justified" about it. We literally got 2 TCG games 13-14 years ago, thats it.
@Einherjar It doesn't, all this is, is an ipad version of the online TCG you can already play on the official site for free. So its pretty much like those app versions of Facebook games, they're just making it a lot easier and more convenient for people to play.
It wouldn't be a bad idea for them to make the GTS accessible on mobile too. Imagine having been able to play the dream world mini-games on a tablet.
@Dauntless Well, the Wii is technically still capable of playing Gamecube games, its basically just missing the ports. So the Wii U should be just as capable. The problem would be the execution, since the Wii U has an entirely separate mode for backwards-compatibility.
I'm not too bothered about the lack of actual GC compatibility since at least it can be used for future games, but I am a bit miffed that they just now start making new controllers, but apparently couldn't be arsed to do it for the console that actually had it, ports and all.
@Kroisos Not really, if you love platformers then sure, but the Wii U doesn't have much else for most other genres. While I certainly agree on the backlog, its nothing more than a band-aid solution to an over-all problem.
Not only does the backlog or even the another console argument raise the question of why should people get a Wii U at all, but this drought shows just how long it takes to get games out and build up a good selection in this day and age. Especially when you don't have a whole lot of 3rd-parties backing you up.
@Nicolai Hey yea, maybe after one too many failed attempts at sharing, he gave up and became the king of evil, vowing to destroy the world and take all the candy for himself.
@Damo Your certainly right about that, people like what they know (i.e touch screens). I guess you could say my point is finger paints and mud pies came before smart devices.
I don't think tablets and smartphones have much to do with kids' instinct to use their hands. Our hands are just some of the oldest, most natural 'tools' we have. Thats why touch controls work so well, so its the other way around.
@headfirstslide Probably, could be both though. Yoshi doesn't exactly care what they eat, so eating their 'cousins' isn't too far out there even by real-world animal standards.
So, I guess Yoshi is a type of koopa then. That could explain the wings an fire-balls, since there are winged koopas and the koopa king himself breaths fire.
As for the name "Yoshi", its probably the same both singular and plural, like Pokemon and their numerous species. The yoshi we all know is just called by his specie's name, or rather named after it.

Re: Video: Watch These Teenagers As They're Exposed To The NES
Re: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate Collector's Edition Coming to North America
Looks pretty good for only $20 extra. The figure along would probably be $10-$15 if sold by itself. I might just go ahead and pre-order it myself.
Appearently it'll be available on Amazon too.
Re: September's Club Nintendo Reward Details Are Confirmed
@crzysortagamer
True, the coins are a 'bonus' but they're also the main point of Nintendo's reward program.
Re: Video: If You Love Mario Easter Eggs, This Series is for You
@unrandomsam
Re: Feature: The Nintendo 64 Controller and the Rise of 3D Gaming
On Sony "copying" the SNES design with the dualshock, people do remember Sony and Nintendo originally collaborated on it, right? I don't think it was 'copycating' so much as reusing (and possibly altering) part of the console they were originally working on. In all fairness, everyone now copies their design, even Nintendo.
@KingMike
I belive your right, they covered the N64 during a 'history of' series or something they doing for Nintendo's consoles if I remember right.
Re: Pokkén Tournament's Concept Even Shocked The Game’s Creators
@CaviarMeths
Same here. Maybe a more tradtional-style RPG, active-time like Tales of perhaps? PokemonXDigimon is the most obvious one, and could have been a Project X-zone like cross-over.
Thats all I can really think of that they do that'd mix well with Pokemon, besides a different style fighting game.
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Shown Off by Monster Hunter Series Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto
@rjejr
The former. You were misding your trademark so I literally couldn't tell. I suspected as much though, but with the lack of expression and this being the internet and all, you never know.
And yea, Japan doesn't really like Xbox, but it does have a cult following apparently.
Re: Sorry, Contrary to Rumours the New Nintendo 3DS Will be Region Locked
@unrandomsam
"If they just put translations into the Japanese release and it was playable then they could do that for more games than doing a full localisation."
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Shown Off by Monster Hunter Series Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto
@rjejr
Can't tell if your serious.
Monster Hunter is right up with Pokemon in Japan. Need I say more?
Re: The Gypceros Returns in Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate
@Frapp
Aw man, if people though Peco's subspecies was annoying, wait untill they get a load of this guy. Can't wait to take my bow n' arrow to Gypceros's face once again, along with Yian Garuga.
Re: Sorry, Contrary to Rumours the New Nintendo 3DS Will be Region Locked
@IceClimbers
Re: Sorry, Contrary to Rumours the New Nintendo 3DS Will be Region Locked
@IceClimbers
The problem with that is, going by Nintendo logic even with region-locking we might not get games.
Re: New Nintendo 3DS Shown Off by Monster Hunter Series Producer Ryozo Tsujimoto
@rjejr
Took the words right out of my mouth.
Re: Yokai Watch 2 Finally Stripped of its Top Position – 3DS & Wii U Sales Steady
@Mega719
Its not 3rd-parties that are declining.
Re: Square Enix Wants To Bring Dragon Quest VII To The West, But Doesn't Know If You'll Bite
Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Confidently Outlines Nintendo's Move From Casual To Core
@minotaurgamer
Re: Shigeru Miyamoto Confidently Outlines Nintendo's Move From Casual To Core
@OmegaStar
I doubt they'll completely drop those games, since they'll need something to round out their selection.
Re: Mario Kart 8 DLC Coming In November, Features Zelda, F-Zero And Animal Crossing
@HyperSonicEXE
Isn't that what your doing? You have no proof of the time-frame of development either, yet you insist it "would have been in the game".
We don't know that for sure, but chances are if it wasn't released as DLC you'd either have to wait for MK9 or they wouldn't have made it at all. Thats usually what happens with scrapped ideas. The former would require you buy an entirely new console and a $60 game, this DLC can be had for Just $12. Which do you find more appealing?
Re: Mario Kart 8 DLC Coming In November, Features Zelda, F-Zero And Animal Crossing
Re: Mario Kart 8 DLC Coming In November, Features Zelda, F-Zero And Animal Crossing
@HyperSonicEXE
Then thats your problem isn't it?
Re: Talking Point: The Wii U May be Best as One of Two Consoles, Just Like Wii
@JaxonH
I'd have to agree with you that people are just acclimated to western-style games more now a days. I don't think its a case of other games slipping or anything, a lot of western games just stuck to PC, now they've migrated over and the two markets have merged. With it came huge Hollywood-style budgets and marketing. Anyone familiar with the movie industry should knows what that means.
Re: Super Smash Bros. For 3DS Will Feature A Music Player That Works In Sleep Mode
Re: Monopoly: Pokémon Kanto Edition is Bringing Ruthless Landlord Gaming to a New Generation
I actually like this one better than the original, it looks cleaner and doesn't scream 'for kids' quite as much as the original anime themed version. Although I do prefer the deeper colors of the old board's artwork.
Re: Talking Point: A History of the Sexualisation of Samus
Re: 3DS Homebrew Channel Reportedly in Final Stages of Development
@Rin-go
The fact that other companies had to intervene even with Project Rainfall says otherwise, that and Reggie came right out and said they didn't think theres much interest in those kind of games.
Re: 3DS Homebrew Channel Reportedly in Final Stages of Development
@IceClimbers
Re: 3DS Homebrew Channel Reportedly in Final Stages of Development
@WYLD-WOO
No, he had the right term. After all, where do you think 'Life Hacker' or 'Ikea hacker' comes from? They have nothing to do with the modern association of the term "hacker".
Anyone who tinkers with existing things in order to make them better or solve problems and shares those ideas can be called a hacker.
Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Accepts Ice Bucket Challenge
@tux_peng
I've seen themed ice cube trays before, wouldn't be surprised if there are Mario themed trays out there.
I just thought of something though, what if instead of a bucket of ice water, he rented a dunk-tank and fills it with ice water?
@Mario500
Thats the whole point.
Re: Interview: Dan Adelman on the Indie Scene, the Nintendo Years and His New Venture
@3MonthBeef
At least he acknowledged where screwed up and is being reasonable about it. Most people that say the wrong thing on social media (and many do) tend to just continue shoving their foot in their mouth even further.
Re: Reggie Fils-Aime Accepts Ice Bucket Challenge
I really have no clue how you one-up an ice water bucket challenge. Dye the water and ice Mario colors? Beats the heck outta me.
@SilentHunter382
Same here, nothing jumps out at me besides other Nintendo execs. Maybe thats how he'll one-up it, by getting even higher level execs involved.
Re: Retro Studios Ramps Up Recruitment for a Variety of Vital Roles
@unrandomsam
Hows that relevant now though? Even if they could back then game development used a lot less resources to make and get out the door with a modest-sized team. Now Retro is basically about the size of Atlus at a time where development takes easily twice as long.
Re: Only 3DS Games Sold Over One Million Copies in Japan in 2013
@Kaze_Memaryu
Re: The Pokémon Trading Card Game Is Coming To iPad This Year
@yuwarite
For all the reasons the free games on the official site aren't, because thats all this is.
Re: The Pokémon Trading Card Game Is Coming To iPad This Year
@Einherjar
It doesn't, all this is, is an ipad version of the online TCG you can already play on the official site for free. So its pretty much like those app versions of Facebook games, they're just making it a lot easier and more convenient for people to play.
It wouldn't be a bad idea for them to make the GTS accessible on mobile too. Imagine having been able to play the dream world mini-games on a tablet.
Re: Amazon Opens Pre-Orders For Super Smash Bros. GameCube Adapter and Controller Bundle
@Dauntless
Well, the Wii is technically still capable of playing Gamecube games, its basically just missing the ports.
Re: The Trending #WiiUDroughtAid Shows That, Actually, There's Plenty to Play on Wii U
@Kroisos
Not really, if you love platformers then sure, but the Wii U doesn't have much else for most other genres.
Re: Princess Zelda A "Heroine in Her Own Right", Lucky to Escape a Bungling Rescue From Link
@Nicolai
Hey yea, maybe after one too many failed attempts at sharing, he gave up and became the king of evil, vowing to destroy the world and take all the candy for himself.
Re: Feature: The Ten Best 3DS Games For Your Kids This Summer
@Damo
Your certainly right about that, people like what they know (i.e touch screens). I guess you could say my point is finger paints and mud pies came before smart devices.
Re: Feature: The Ten Best 3DS Games For Your Kids This Summer
I don't think tablets and smartphones have much to do with kids' instinct to use their hands. Our hands are just some of the oldest, most natural 'tools' we have. Thats why touch controls work so well, so its the other way around.
Re: Weirdness: Yoshi's Real Name Is Both Silly and Scientific
@headfirstslide
Probably, could be both though. Yoshi doesn't exactly care what they eat, so eating their 'cousins' isn't too far out there even by real-world animal standards.
Re: Weirdness: Yoshi's Real Name Is Both Silly and Scientific
So, I guess Yoshi is a type of koopa then. That could explain the wings an fire-balls, since there are winged koopas and the koopa king himself breaths fire.
As for the name "Yoshi", its probably the same both singular and plural, like Pokemon and their numerous species. The yoshi we all know is just called by his specie's name, or rather named after it.
