Re: Review: Fire Emblem: Path Of Radiance (GameCube) - Aged & Easier Than You're Used To, But Still A Winner

Retrodouche

@sportymariosonicmixx

Edit: I remembered some stuff wrong
Copied straight from Fire Emblem wiki Serenes Forest

"Base Stats
If a character reached the maximum value for a stat at their final class and at their final level (20), in FE9, they will receive a fixed bonus to that stat in FE10.

The bonus is +5 for HP and +2 for Strength, Magic, Skill, Speed, Luck, Defence and Resistance.
Danved receives the bonus for any stat that Devdan capped at his final level (20).
Calill receives an additional bonus for any stat that Largo capped at his final level (20). However, note that bonuses for the same stat do not stack.
For example: If Ilyana had maxed Skill and Resistance as a Level 20 Sage in FE9, she will gain +2 Skill and +2 Resistance to her FE10 bases.

An exception is Sothe:

If Sothe reached Level 20 in FE9, his FE9 stats will be transferred directly to FE10 (excludes Build or Movement).
If a FE9 stat is lower than a default FE10 stat, the FE9 stat will take precedence.
Since the Resistance cap is lower in FE10, if his Resistance was 16 to 20 in FE9 it will become 15 in FE10.
Weapon Ranks
If a character’s weapon type, in FE9, reached a rank from C to S, there will be a Weapon EXP bonus to that weapon type in FE10.

The bonus is 40 for C, 80 for B, 120 for A and 160 for S.
If the final weapon rank in FE9 exceeds the FE10 weapon rank cap, it will be set to the FE10 weapon rank cap.
For example, if Ilyana reached S Thunder in FE9, she will get a 160 Weapon EXP bonus in Thunder in FE10, which bumps her rank from C to A.

Supports
Support conversations, unlocked in FE9, can be viewed in a support library. Only support conversations attached to a transferred file can be viewed.

A-level Supports obtained in FE9 become bond supports (with a bonus of +5 Critical and Dodge).

Certain A-level Supports in FE9 may have effects on the story (the most noticeable change is with the Ike and Soren support).

Coins
Any Coins collected in FE9 will appear in Ike’s convoy at the beginning of Part 3.

Coins aren’t for collecting, so don’t fret if you sold them the first time. Instead they are used to give random bonuses to forged weapons."

@GoproGO No Fire Emblem game is perfect. For me Path of Radiance has the least flaws / the flaws are minor.
Here's the biggest flaws in each game

FE1 Slow gameplay, outdated
FE2 Slow GP, map desing, outdated
FE3 Slow GP, use of colours is kind of bad
FE4 horse emblem, a bit too easy
FE5 stat caps, character balance

Fe 6-8 use the same grapichs, soundpalet etc therefore kind of lack uniqueness, bad support system

FE6 characters get no story
FE7 story
FE8 too easy

FE9 kind of slow GP, outdated looks
FE10 story plotholes, lack of cohesion
FE11artstyle, too basic for a remake
FE12 haven't played
FE13 difficulty all over the place, story
FE14 story is dogshit
FE15 map desing
FE16monastery, difficulty all over the place
FE17story is dogshit, wierd character designs

Re: Nintendo Expands Switch 2's GameCube Library With Another Game

Retrodouche

@Tokujo It might be the best writing (supports and story) the series has had (not that it's a tough competition). Characters and music is also top notch. Gameplay is quite slow and is missing some modern quality of life features. It's also one of the easiest games in the series. Still it's my favorite Fire Emblem game.

Re: Switch 2 Sales In The US Are Outpacing The Original Console By 75%

Retrodouche

So you're telling me that Switch 2, a successor to one of the best selling consoles of all time, is selling better in the first few months than Switch 1, a console that had distribution/supply issues and was a successor to one of the worst selling consoles of all time.

Who would have knew?!

After a year or two we can see if switch 2 lives up to the switch 1 legacy. But before that Nintendo needs to make some GAMES, bring out the big guns, firepower!

All I need personally is Prime 4 but they need something else for the rest of the year besides that and the next pokemon.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Super Mario Bros. Wonder?

Retrodouche

Played it through with a friend. It's your average mario game. Bread and butter. Can't remember any of the soundtrack and not many levels stood out of the rest. A lot of gimmicks and stylistic choices have been done on other games before. The game was laughably easy. Only few stages in the special world gave some challenge and most of them were super short. Nothing special but pretty good for killing time.

Re: Best Of 2022: Which Is The Absolute Best Nintendo Console Generation?

Retrodouche

This is going to be a long one...
Here's a list of games I still revisit. Some more often than others

Nes
Adventure's of lolo 1-3
Batman
Blaster master
Castlevania 1-3
Contra 1-2
Ducktales 1-2
Dragon Quest 1-5 ( usually the updated ds, snes or game boy color versions though)
Double dragon 1-3
Final fantasy 1-3 ( usually the updated ds, ps1, psp versions though)
Mega Man 1-6
Metroid
Ninja gaiden 1-3
Super mario bros 1-3
Zelda 1-2

Game boy
Donkey Kong
Zelda 4 Link's awekening ( not so much after the switch remake)
Super Mario Land 1-3

Snes
Actraiser 1
Donkey kong country 1-3
Chrono trigger
Contra 3
Earthbound
Final fantasy 4-6
Fire emblem 4-5
Hagane
Lost vikings 1-2
Lufia 2
Mega man 7 & x 1-3
Parodius
Pocky & rocky 1-2
R-type 3
Secret of mana
Skyblazer
Street fighter 2 turbo
Sunset riders
Super Castlevania & dracula x
Super mario world1-2, allstars, rpg
Super metroid
Super smash tv
Turtles in time
Wild guns
Zelda 3
Zombies ate my neighbours

N64
Ogre battle 64
Paper mario

The n64/ps 1 generation has aged like milk. Even revolutionary games like mario 64 and the two zelda games have not stood the test of time that well in my opinion. I'd rather play the 3ds zelda remakes or any other 3d mario.

Game boy color
Wario land 2-3
The Zelda oracle games

Gamecube
Baten kaitos eternal wings
Fire emblem path of radiance
Luigi's mansion
Metroid prime 1-2
Paper mario ttyd
Resident evil 4
Super mario sunshine
Super monkey ball
Tales of symphonia
Zelda wind waker & twilight princess

Game boy advance
Castlevania aria of sorrow (sometimes the other two too)
Fire emblem 6-8
Mario & luigi superstar saga
Metroid zero missio & fusion
Wario land 4
Zelda minish cap

Wii
Donkey kong country returns
Fire emblem radiant dawn
Metroid prime 3
Super mario galaxy 1-2, & new smb
Wario land shake it

Ds
The three Castlevania games
Dragon quest 4-6
New super mario bros

Wii u
Donkey kong country tropical freeze
Mario kart 8 ( the switch version though but it's a port with dlc)
Super mario 3d world & new smb wii u
Zelda breath of the wild ( the switch version though but it's a port )

3ds
Bravely default & second
Dragon quest 7-8
Fire emblem 13-15
Luigi's mansion 2
Metroid samus returns
Super mario land 3d & new smb2
Zelda a link between worlds, oot & mm remakes

Switch
Cuphead
Luigi's mansion 3
Mario kart8
The Messenger
Metroid dread
Super mario maker 2
Zelda breath of the wild & links awekening

Strangely enough I'm one of the few people that isn't that impressed with the switch. Malfunctioning and uncomfortable controllers ( I know the pro controller exists but do you remember the times when the consoles came with the best cotrollers ever?((snes & gamecube)), heath cracks and laughable online/ virtual console.

I think snes era wins and gamecube/ gba is a close second. Wii u/ 3ds isn't that far behind either.

Re: Poll: What's The Worst Legend Of Zelda Game?

Retrodouche

Worst zelda games ranked
1. Triforce heroes
2.the four swords games
3. The Ds games with awful stylus controls

I can see some people voting for skyward sword for its motion controls and zelda 2 for its difficulty. I advise you to see a doctor if you picked anything else than the games I listed.

Re: Nintendo Direct To Air Tomorrow, Wednesday 17th February

Retrodouche

-Smash 20 minute in depth look over a sword based fighter
-Pokemon snap 10 mintues
-Shovelware indie titles + 1 gem 10 minutes

  • bravely default2, crash 4 + reminding that mario 3d world exists 10 min
  • one last thing: zelda hd ports to switch this summer

Keep the expectations low people, and you won't be disappointed.

Re: Poll: So, What Was Nintendo's Best Year Ever?

Retrodouche

Breath of the wild was a great time but I have to go with 1995. I find myself revisiting Chrono trigger, Donkey kong country 2, earthbound and yoshi's island again and again. 95 also had mega man x2, mega man 7, breath of fire 2, castlevania x , Hagane and many other classics. 91 pretty good too
