Oh, here we go again. Nintendo Life thought 3-day-old news was not late enough, so now we're 14 years late. Bravo! There have been fansubs of this for ages now lol
@Ryall I'll keep the pledge because backers get the game 2 weeks earlier and it saves me the trouble or buying it anyway. But wish they would have opened a pre-order website rather than a Kickstarter, since Kickstarter campaigns should be for games that really depend on raising funds.
Ok I played it for a bit on my S10 and the controls are actually not that terrible. The price point makes it a no-brainer anyway. Still hoping this means there are plans to play it on a superior device like the Switch. PS - I'm sad they decided to use the re-translation and new voice over No more miserable pile of secrets.
With so many games being announced for the Switch, what if Nintendo came up with the idea of making a video presentation of upcoming games?Do you think I should pitch this to them?
I'm not sure I agree with some games in this list. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker has some not-so-chill levels, at least on the 3DS. Lumines is too fast paced to be chill. And BotW? The only thing "chill" I remember about the game was a Lynel chilling around...
@Zidentia I don't need to know what crap you listen to. If you're not listening exclusively to late 1700s Mozart and early 1800s Beethoven I honestly despise your laughably mediocre musical taste.
@UmbreonsPapa Doesn't necessitate a leak. It necessitated TPC to have released that info themselves. They didn't, fans wanted to know, that lead to the leak.
Going back on your word is not ok, but sugar pie, that's the world we live in and TPC aren't that innocent and gullible. They absolutely know they could have done more to prevent it, if they absolutely really cared.
Again, Nintendo can hold a partner accountable, but they don't have to make the "hunt" public neither do they have to have this sensationalism going on. There's a lot of lawsuits that the public has no knowledge of. Public shaming is very harsh, they could have simply cut ties with the offending party.
@Strumpan There is a way of knowing the game was a success tho.
@MailOrderNinja it's a witch hunt because it's extreme: Nintendo have been very public about the pursuit of the culprit. Witch hunt has nothing to do with innocence, it has to do with intimidation. When you make the pursuit public the effect is to scare people: think Liam Neeson's "I will find you and I will kill you".
"Also, Nintendo IS pretty careful with its review copies as you have to reach a certain point with traffic to even be considered. Then, to get a review copy you have to sign a legally binding NDA. "
Uh, how does traffic volume equate with trust? The Daily Mail has a lot of traffic and they're the first ones to ignore the rules (mainly because they know they'll profit a lot even with lawsuits thrown at them). Signing a legally binding NDA also can only do so little. A signature doesn't stop anyone from leaking stuff.
On the other hand, sending a review copy with limited content, does.
@Strumpan "Since nobody knows how well the game would have done without the leaks, we have no idea whether it harmed its success or not."
You can compare it with other games sold at the same time: they were all crushed. So it was successful. So the success was not harmed.
@UmbreonsPapa I honestly can't remember all details now, this happened in October/November and I've had more important things happen in my life since then. I do remember one of the main things was knowing which fan favorite pokemon got the cut, details about mechanics and also the infamous "high quality animations" that were, actually, not "high quality". I know it helped me decide not to buy these crappy games (along with post-release youtube analysis).
@Rika_Yoshitake I've written a lot of reviews, in fact. I used to run a anime/video game website before you were even born. Have written reviews for other websites too. So please go flush your toilet.
TPC's witch hunt is still annoying because fans absolutely needed more information about these games before release, crucial information even, and look at the sales, the leak didn't even slightly affect them. It's obviously expected of reviewers to NOT leak anything, and sure, they can go ahead and "teach them a lesson", but we're talking about a massive multi-billion-dollar corporation who, again, didn't have any negative impact (profit-wise), so I'm not going to shed a tear for them and it all just sounds a bit petty.
Again? Didn't we just have one recently? I wish they did a sale on their online shop rather than the eShop. Would love to get some discounted critically acclaimed cartridges.
@Mince They're a portuguese Nintendo focused website/forum. I used to participate in the forum a lot, in the past, and the admins are just awful people. Glad this happened to them.
Ok, even tho I hate The Pokemon Company and their witch hunt, this is such an interesting turn of events. See, I'm portuguese, and I hate FNintendo and their staff xD
Bloody hell, do you guys also break up with your girl/boyfriend once they make a mistake after you've been dating for almost 10 years? Lol.
Also, keep your condescending tone down, I understand very well how ads work, you silly billy. That's why I don't block them here. Things may be free, but there is still money to be made out of free things.
@Eel I can still see every comment, but I wouldn't be surprised if the OP has managed to hide it from sight for other users.
I wouldn't say it's useless. If no one points out when something isn't right (or not as good), staff just assumes everything is perfect. And not all readers are sheep.
@Olmectron I've been reading this site for almost 10 years now. I read it mostly at work and don't have any adblock in place. Also wouldn't want to because I know that's how these pages earn money so they can pay their staff who write news.
@Damo If this was the only "news" on here that's actually late, I wouldn't bother, but it seems to be a recurring thing. If you don't have staff for the weekends, maybe you need more of those affiliate links spam, I mean, posts and get some extra cash for some weekend overtimers. But I dunno how to organize a news site, just how to read one. Which is what I've been doing for ages here, yet didn't expect such a defensive posture from one of the staff.
If you can't take criticism, close the comments?
@Damo Leak was on the 7th (last week), as can be seen from the tweet on your own article. I'm not going to start my own site, there's plenty of other sites on the internet that already do the strenuous task of posting news on time.

Basically the whole internet just found out about this now, thanks to Nintendo Life.

@Ardisan Osamu Tezuka is the father of manga, not anime.

Yeah I don't get this decision either. Who wants to play this with a touchscreen gamepad?
Re: So, Who Owns The Wonderful 101 IP Now? PlatinumGames Refuses To Say
It leaves a bitter taste in my mouth knowing that I backed a project that a) didn't need any backing and b) isn't as transparent as one would hope.
