@Beardedgooslaps they're all actually complete. However they have been through a REALLY cruddy localization process. They did removed thing in attempt to pander to the easily offended.
@BensonUii Think about this: Fans of the series. People that want the experience creators put their heart and soul into. People want their money well spent.
I bought the game personally, some of the stuff localization did is obnoxious... Funny thing, most of what was removed to "avoid offending people" was so ridiculous if you looked at everything else similarly provocative in the game. Like armor and class uniforms. Some of the skinship sounds more suggestive without the "petting". I watched most of the Japanese version. It's so adorable and weirdly almost innocent.
There is some interesting stuff that just happens to be true. That MattPat has ran into. Especially regarding some things regarding Mario games that were effected by localization. He does use the scientific method. I don't take him seriously but he's exposed some things and a few things are quite plausible. What he does is mostly hypothetical. He (GT) actually has more credibility than FF.
@SLIGEACH_EIRE I hope too, although if you have enough friends — you can dress them up for Miifotos and make meme/comics. Essentially playing dollies.
@AVahne @Ryu_Niiyama think of the Fire Emblem having a select a battle map format like most puzzle games. It might be even like Pokemon shuffle in a sense where you collect your army as you go. Which wouldn't be bad.
I hope 3DS versions of their mobile games come out. We'll definitely see games that are more or less advertising for their main console games. It'd be interesting if something was done with Rolling Western, which is actually one of the few games that are so incredibly crisp that it looks great on New3DS.
@ThomasBW84 Doing well doesn't excuse the job done at localization. People might actually be buying the game, so they can be heard. Nintendo should listen to the players. What was done, was censorship that is blatantly obvious. Like the "swimsuit" powerups taken out unnecessarily, that are key to gameplay too. There are character classes that are quite revealing and you can still do obscene camera views in the Accessory Shop.
They could have did a full recolor to market in America. They could have made it some wild gawdy color pallet. They were not customizing actual weapons like they do now.
The thing is, the localization done in America is an intellectually dishonest fallacial mess. America is multicultural and things have changed over 3 decades. We have ratings and content warnings for a reason.
@Pandaman @Cestius, oh lovely, you all love stroking each other A-LOT.
Sigh, the ignorance is astounding. Try understanding what actually going on... It's more about the dialog changes and frankly cutting out anything at all.
@Kilroy I tried blocking as little ads as possible. I've had to block fake "facebook" ads... I want to support this site, it's been quality for as long, as I've used it.
@Fee then you hate artistic integrity and only want localization when it's a game you didn't like? Art is meant to be a little offensive to some people.
@PlywoodStick SJW have been pushing the moral panic crap and have a special kind of hatred towards Japanese devs/companies. People are also aging and becoming the worst of their own parents. They're a product of: "Think of the children, with good intentions but I don't want to take responsibility for my kid — while trying to raise everyone elses kid. I forgot, I live in America and I only care about my own freedom of expression."
With what's going on: White washing a Bravely Default character. Doing away with body type diversity in the new Xenoblade game. Possibly erasing a character from Fire Emblem Fates, because people who have trouble comprehending Japanese were defaming Nintendo and creators.
Localization is becoming a problem, it needs to be reduced down to translators and the original devs maybe making something special if they want. Like How Japan had special outfit changes in Bravely Default.
@PlywoodStick I kind of knew that, LOL. However a majority still don't mind big breast. Look up the old talking points, you'd get a example of how this community is.
@Fath Useless how? 1. Most of us grew up on educational games. 2. People who play games work together better in the workplace, even if perfect strangers. 3. They keep your mind flexible and young, among other benefits.
@Coldpancakes just because they think it shouldn't exist, it doesn't mean they demand dishonest translations and the game to be censored. We all know, if the general audience doesn't like that feature. It will never be seen in future games. I think the intention "since it was popular in pokemon and people know these are fictional characters, why not fire emblem.". It's a weird goofy feature like the " hubba tester" in FE:A.

Re: Amazon Opens Pre-Orders for New Nintendo 3DS XL - Super NES Edition in North America
Perhaps they should have put Star Fox 2 with it? Also why am I the only person that finds it attractive?

@MitchVogel it does, doesn't it. 😂
Re: The First NES Advertisement Has Been Successfully Preserved
The is quit awesome, showcasing 2 generations and teasing the future. I doubt that they barely get to do that anymore.
(I wanted to RT him, found I was blocked. More clichéd, amusing and sad, why is it always some hipster from California? Though he may not know that he has me blocked.)

This is expected, it's definitely better on 3DS.

@MoonKnight7 @ReadyLetsGo They've changed a lot over the years. However the cheese conies and double bacon cheeseburgers are awesome.
