Re: Guide: What's New And Different In Fire Emblem Fates?

@BensonUii Think about this:
Fans of the series.
People that want the experience creators put their heart and soul into.
People want their money well spent.

I bought the game personally, some of the stuff localization did is obnoxious... Funny thing, most of what was removed to "avoid offending people" was so ridiculous if you looked at everything else similarly provocative in the game. Like armor and class uniforms. Some of the skinship sounds more suggestive without the "petting". I watched most of the Japanese version. It's so adorable and weirdly almost innocent.

There is some interesting stuff that just happens to be true. That MattPat has ran into. Especially regarding some things regarding Mario games that were effected by localization. He does use the scientific method. I don't take him seriously but he's exposed some things and a few things are quite plausible. What he does is mostly hypothetical. He (GT) actually has more credibility than FF.

@ThomasBW84 Doing well doesn't excuse the job done at localization. People might actually be buying the game, so they can be heard. Nintendo should listen to the players. What was done, was censorship that is blatantly obvious. Like the "swimsuit" powerups taken out unnecessarily, that are key to gameplay too. There are character classes that are quite revealing and you can still do obscene camera views in the Accessory Shop.

@PlywoodStick SJW have been pushing the moral panic crap and have a special kind of hatred towards Japanese devs/companies. People are also aging and becoming the worst of their own parents. They're a product of: "Think of the children, with good intentions but I don't want to take responsibility for my kid — while trying to raise everyone elses kid. I forgot, I live in America and I only care about my own freedom of expression."

With what's going on:
White washing a Bravely Default character.
Doing away with body type diversity in the new Xenoblade game.
Possibly erasing a character from Fire Emblem Fates, because people who have trouble comprehending Japanese were defaming Nintendo and creators.

Localization is becoming a problem, it needs to be reduced down to translators and the original devs maybe making something special if they want. Like How Japan had special outfit changes in Bravely Default.

@Coldpancakes just because they think it shouldn't exist, it doesn't mean they demand dishonest translations and the game to be censored. We all know, if the general audience doesn't like that feature. It will never be seen in future games. I think the intention "since it was popular in pokemon and people know these are fictional characters, why not fire emblem.". It's a weird goofy feature like the " hubba tester" in FE:A.
